The Blessed Omega

Chapter 19: Another one.

Sebastián

It was the second time in one day. I was walking away again. But this time, I didn't hate myself for it. In fact, I was glad I walked away. How dare she show up in front of me and make a fool out of me again? You have no idea how stunned I was when I heard her name, Isabella Morgan. Even saying it now leaves an ugly taste in my mouth. And to make matters worse, I kissed her—actually enjoyed that kiss. How stupid of me to indulge in every mistake she made, thinking she was innocent, pure. Tsk. I've never been so humiliated by a single girl so many times. She even had the audacity to act like the victim when I strangled her.

The only reason I didn't outright kill her was because of my pack. If I'd killed her, my pack would have been blamed, and a new war would erupt. We already had enough on our plate, so adding that to the list wasn't an option.

But I had a plan for her—whether she was my mate or someone I was supposed to marry for an alliance, I had a perfect plan, and it just needed execution. I'll give you a little preview: I'll play along with the marriage, then find her faults. There are no princesses without flaws. I'll make her fall right into my trap, and when she does, that'll be it. Her miserable end. I'll have the perfect excuse to kill Lucian's daughter, and once I'm done with her, her father will follow her to hell.

"Ouch, damn it, Killian!" I muttered under my breath as my wolf clawed at me, pulling me from my thoughts. Yes, Killian—my wolf—was attacking me in every way possible, trying to inflict pain just to get my attention. He'd been doing this since I strangled his little mate. He believes she's our mate, but I think he's just delusional. There's no way I'd have the devil's daughter as my mate. That would be the cruelest joke of the century.

I stopped walking and took a breather. Killian couldn't speak to me, not anymore. I had blocked him out, closed the link earlier, and I was glad I did.

"Listen, Killian," I said, though I knew he couldn't respond, "it's just a phase. You're probably just tired of being alone, longing for someone—anyone. I get it. But that doesn't justify you pouncing and wagging your tail for the enemy. You can have anyone in the world, just not her."

To my surprise, he spoke.

"I don't want anyone else. I want her," Killian spat.

Wait, what?

"I closed the link. Why can you speak?" I asked in disbelief.

Killian snarled and looked away.

"You're not going to answer?" I pressed.

He didn't respond. This was strange. I had never had instances where Killian could break free like this. I knew I had the link closed, so how was he talking to me?

"You've hurt them, you know," Killian started again. "Isabella and Natalie... you've caused them a lot of pain."

"Isabella and who?" I questioned.

"Tsk. You don't even know your mate's wolf's name. You're worse than that scumbag Lucian you hate so much," Killian said.

Oh, that triggered me.

"What did you just say? I dare you to repeat that," I spat. No one compares me to that bastard.

Killian scoffed. "You strangled her. Left her for dead when she needed us most."

"If she dies, that's her problem," I snapped. "And she's not my mate. I don't have a weak mate, and I don't want one. Get that in your thick head."

Killian snarled once more before retreating to the depths of darkness in my mind.

Argh, what a shitty day. I should probably head to the club. Nothing went right today. That girl has turned not only my family against me but also my wolf. A good round of alcohol will make all of this disappear.

It didn't take long for me to get to FourNights Bar, the newest bar in town. When I say new, I mean it's been here for at most three years. I'm a regular here. I walked straight up to the bartender.

"The usual, no ice," I said, and he got to work. I liked this place because no one minded you. Everyone had their own problems to sort out, and the workers didn't speak unless you wanted them to. They just waited for your order and gave you what you wanted.

After a few minutes, the bartender handed me my drink, and I downed it in a second.

"Another one," I ordered.

The bartender started working again.

"My, my, what got you so hot so early in the morning?" A sweet voice rang through my ears as a hand landed on my shoulder.

Just like the oncoming drinks, the girls here were too. But I wasn't in the mood.

"Go away," I said curtly, taking my second drink and downing it before raising my finger to signal for a third.

"My, my, are you the same guy who couldn't get enough of me last Thursday?" the girl spoke.

I froze, drink in hand.

"Fiona?" I asked.

She smiled, a regular here, and I remembered her. Last week, a few things happened, and one thing led to another—we made out, but we didn't fuck like she was making it sound.

"So you remember me. Want to pick up where we left off?" she said seductively, running her hand slowly around my shoulders.

I froze. A nauseating feeling crept over me with each touch. Damn, I hated to admit it, but I felt disgusted. It wasn't like her touch.

As I thought of this, Isabella flashed in my mind, but I quickly pushed it away.

"Sorry, Fiona. I'm not in the mood today. Just want to spend some time with my drink," I said, wiggling my glass.

"Oh, alright. Can I join you, though? Is this seat taken?" she asked with a fake smile, her eyes dimming when I rejected her.

"Sure, feel free," I said, turning to the bartender and asking him to keep the drinks coming.

Fiona sat next to me, and I had the urge to throw up. It felt like she bathed in shit before coming here.

"I remember you used to say you liked my perfume," she said.

What? I don't know what had gotten into me when I said that.

"Yeah, it's not bad," I smiled lightly, hiding my disgust. I didn't want trouble, just peace and quiet with my drink.

But the fucking girl didn't give up. I was focused on my drink when suddenly, a hand landed on my thigh. I growled. Without thinking, I grabbed her hand, twisted it, and she screamed.

"What part of no don't you understand?" I growled. "Try this again, and you'll be dead. Now go away."

I pushed her off. Many eyes were on us, shocked, but I didn't care. I'd already said no. My patience was running thin, and I came here to relax, not to deal with another bitch.

Soon, things settled down, and I took my seat. As I lifted my glass to sip, my mind-link opened.

"Sebastián, get your ass here," my brother Kai said, furious.
