The Blessed Beauty Returns with a Dimension

Chapter 690: Delivery

Tang Yuan and Baozi were drowsily leaning on their seats.

Brother Yong was sitting next to them.

A middle-aged woman looked at the two children who were too sleepy to keep their eyes open and said with some sympathy.

"You're a grown man traveling with two kids, it must be really tiring. Why isn't your wife with you? What if you're not careful and lose the kids on the way? Look how sleepy they are."

Brother Yong smiled, "Comrade, it's not like there's no way around it. The kids' mom is sick, so sick that she's in the hospital now, being looked after by her grandma. I really can't manage everything, between work and taking care of her mom.

I can't take care of them, so I'm sending them back to the hometown for their grandparents to watch over. Otherwise, I won't be able to keep the household running."

He looked honest and simple, the sunglasses above his eyes removed revealing an eye patch.

He didn't seem vicious.

The adults around sighed.

Every family has its troubles, and if someone has to deal with a sick person and such young children, it's really hard for a grown man to handle alone.

"Oh dear! It's truly tough and not easy."

Brother Yong took a look; they were almost at the station.

Fang Xiaohui, that nasty woman, actually forced these two hot potatoes on him.

Fang Xiaohui coming to him was something he had never expected, especially after what happened last time.

He was worried that Fang Xiaohui might hate him enough to risk everything and report him.

While he was anxious, he never expected this woman still wanted to collaborate with him.

When this child was sent to him, he was dumbfounded, never expecting such a rosy-cheeked child to be delivered to him.

And he didn't know if the child had a mental problem or was an idiot because, in front of the child, Fang Xiaohui instructed him to sell this child to the countryside, the more remote the better, ideally in a backwater from which they could never return.

Of course, it would be best to sell to a family with poor conditions, with parents of questionable character.

It's clearly a trap.

She even said the price didn't matter, as long as the person was sent far away.

Even as an outsider, he thought this woman was too ruthless, and the child, upon hearing, still smiled foolishly there.

He didn't know if the child didn't understand or was just an idiot.

There was no choice; now Fang Xiaohui controlled him, and Fang Xiaohui stated that after he sold the child, not only would she not take any of the money, but she would give him the remaining money.

He thought it was a great deal; the child was worth at least a few thousand yuan.

If Fang Xiaohui didn't want it, it would be a free benefit for him.

Brother Yong naturally was pleased.

Just as Brother Yong was about to take the child away, another child appeared, crying and trying to draw attention.

Brother Yong slapped the child unconscious and took them both away.

Fang Xiaohui told him he could deal with the two children however he wanted, but they had to be sold as far away as possible per her requirements.

Brother Yong immediately took the two children onto a train, and before boarding, he forced medicine into them.

He was also afraid the kids would cause a scene, which would expose them.

He naturally had connections for such things, but delivering goods at the doorstep was indeed a first.

When the train reached the station, he had to carry the two children.

With great effort, he knocked on Ma Laosan's door.

"Who is it?"

"It's me, with a delivery!"

"What delivery? Delivering at night."

The man inside was cautious, peeking through the crack in the door. Once he saw Brother Yong and the child in his arms, he immediately understood and opened the door.

"Brother Yong, what wind brought you here? I haven't seen you in years."

Ma Laosan signaled his wife in the room, and she opened the door.

Seeing the two plump boys, her heart stirred.

Apparently, this is the delivery; families usually scramble for boys raised so well, especially at such a young age of two or three.

Half an hour later, Brother Yong left the house with 6000 yuan in his pocket, headed back to the train station, bought a returning train ticket, and boarded the train.

When Tang Yuan woke up, he felt a bit dizzy.

Opening his eyes, the dim yellow light made him nauseous and his vision blurry.

A voice could be heard cursing.

"You barren chicken. Look at this, just because you can't bear sons, now I've had to go through such trouble to get a son. Do you know how much it cost? It cost 10,000 yuan.

You better watch him; if this kid gets lost, you can forget about living."

The cursing voice faded away.

Tang Yuan closed his eyes and then opened them; his head still hurt badly.

Then he saw a dark and thin woman in ragged, patched clothes staring at him.

Her eyes held longing, disgust, hatred, and affection.

Tang Yuan shook his head, no, his vision was swaying too much, he had no choice but to close his eyes and fall asleep again.

When he woke up again.

There was no one around.

Tang Yuan sat up and still felt nauseous, and he was starving.

He remembered what his mother told him, that if he felt not quite right, he should quickly take the small pill from his pocket.

He reached for his chest pocket, only to realize he was no longer wearing his original clothes, and the small pocket his mom hung on his chest was gone. He was now wearing ragged, patched old clothes.

Tang Yuan was stunned as he looked around the room, which was low and cramped.

But the room was quite large; other than the bed he was on, there were two other big beds over there.

The beds were piled with ragged bedding, but it was obvious the house's environment was poor and the lighting was dim.

Tang Yuan didn't know where he was.

He had his parents' words in mind, but he just couldn't recall their faces.

Tang Yuan tried to get out of bed, only to find his leg chained, the other end of the chain embedded in the adobe wall.

Whenever he moved, the chain clanked.

Tang Yuan puzzled over the chain, wondering why he was bound.

Someone entered.

A dark and thin little girl walked in, holding a cracked bowl, and came up to him.

"Gou Dan, you're awake. If you're awake, have something to eat."

She shoved the cracked bowl into Tang Yuan's hands. Tang Yuan blinked.

Gou Dan!

So his name was Gou Dan?

Why did he remember being Tang Yuan. Did he remember wrong?

Inside the bowl was a dark substance he couldn't identify.

But he was very hungry, so he picked up the bowl and drank a big mouthful, only to spit it out immediately.

It tasted terrible; there seemed to be some vegetable leaves, but he didn't know what kind.

The dark substance was unidentifiable, but it was astringent and bitter in his mouth, with a harsh smell, and had a sour and stinky odor.
