The Blessed Beauty Returns with a Dimension

Chapter 179: No Coincidence, No Story

After dinner, Jiang Yue's house only had three rooms. They lived in two of them, and the other room was filled with grain and didn't have a heated brick bed, so it was simply uninhabitable.

After some arrangement, they had to let Qin Ming and Fan Jianguo share a room.

The three women stayed in one room with the kids, all crammed in together.

Luckily, the room was big enough, and so was the heated brick bed.

Under normal circumstances, this bed could comfortably fit four adults.

Now with three adults and two kids, it wasn't too crowded.

Jiang Yue slept with Nuonuo on one side of the bed.

Liu Guizhi slept with Pingping on the other side, making Jiang Xiaoxiao the barrier in between.

Nuonuo had already fallen asleep and was in a deep sleep.

Pingping was exhausted from the journey, and now that the child was full, she too fell asleep.

The three adults washed up and got onto the bed, turned off the lights, and prepared to sleep.

"Guizhi, where is your parent's home? If it's too far, we'll have my uncle take you back tomorrow."

Jiang Yue was worried because Liu Guizhi looked like a shy woman.

From their earlier conversation, Jiang Yue learned that Liu Guizhi was only 20 years old, two years older than Jiang Xiaoxiao.

She already had a two-year-old child.

Her husband happened to be gone, and her mother-in-law didn't tolerate her, driving her and the child out, presumably not wanting them to claim the family property.

Jiang Yue was filled with sympathy.

Liu Guizhi replied softly.

"Our home is in the Red Flag Gully Team, it's a five to six hour walk, no need to escort me. I've walked it often before, it's not a big deal."

Liu Guizhi was grateful in her heart, she had met good people on her journey.

If she hadn't encountered Fan Jianguo, she and her child would have been taken away by human traffickers today.

Even when they got to the county town in the middle of the night, she knew Fan Jianguo was right.

A woman with a child on the road, who knows what could happen. The child was so young, and although it was already considered spring here, it still got very cold at night.

Liu Guizhi had no money and no food, truly at a loss.

Although she was about to reach her parent's home, it was still far, and she dared not walk on the road in the middle of the night.

Even if there weren't wolves, if something happened on the road, she and the child would be finished.

"Red Flag Gully Team? Didn't expect you to be from there. Do you know someone named Liu Shuren in your team?"

Jiang Xiaoxiao was interested, as she was going to find Liu Shuren.

She had thought about handling things in the next few days and then going to find Liu Shuren.

This was a debt from her past life she hoped to repay by changing everything for this child in this life.

This child had run to inform her back then, letting her know that her mother-in-law was going to reclaim the house and give away the three children, which almost led to Liu Shuren being beaten to death by the brother-in-law.

If she didn't repay kindness, could she still be considered human?

Liu Guizhi was shocked, turning in the dark to ask Jiang Xiaoxiao.

"There's only one Liu Shuren in the Red Flag Gully Team, that's my brother. Xiao Xiao, how do you know my brother?"

Jiang Xiaoxiao laughed, it's really a small world, unexpected things like this happen.

"Oh wow, Liu Shuren is your brother! I didn't expect him to be your brother."

Although speaking with a smile in her voice, she was pondering how she would have known Liu Shuren, knowing it's quite a stretch.

But Liu Guizhi looked at Jiang Xiaoxiao, "Did my brother cause some trouble?"

Panicking, her voice gave away her fear.

Jiang Xiaoxiao sighed, realizing her mistake.

Who knew asking would lead to Liu Shuren's sister.

"No! Not at all, it's like this: when one of our educated youth was out, your brother happened to save him. They asked me to inquire how far the Red Flag Gully Team was, and since you mentioned you're from there, I asked. Who knew you're Liu Shuren's sister.

That's actually good. An educated youth friend of mine was injured and went back to the city to recuperate, and they specifically instructed me to express gratitude to Liu Shuren. I really didn't expect us to be acquaintances.

If that's the case, I'll take you back tomorrow, so I can meet him and fulfill the request of my friend."

Jiang Xiaoxiao made it up, though Liu Shuren indeed saved someone back then, rescuing an educated youth buried in snow, who never repaid the kindness.

Liu Guizhi then felt relieved, "No need for thanks, it was just a small favor. My parents always said, if you encounter someone in trouble, help them out if you can, as everyone will face tough times now and then."

This did reflect Liu Shuren's style.

"Your parents must be good people to raise a child like that."

Jiang Xiaoxiao thought Liu Guizhi's parents were probably well-educated.

You could see a trace of elegance and sensibility in Liu Guizhi.

It was connected to her family environment, a long-standing good habit.

"My parents were good people, just unfortunate to go so early. I didn't expect them to leave so soon. Maybe I really am a curse to them."

Liu Guizhi's voice choked with sobs.

Jiang Yue couldn't bear it, "Curse! What curse? That's all nonsense. You should know, the country now advocates eliminating feudal superstitions. How is it related to you when someone dies? If you think like that, how will you get through life?

Think about it, your young siblings need you, and your own young child needs you even more. You should be strong, ignore what others say. The most important thing is to live well.

Words come from others' mouths, you can't control them, but if you think that way yourself, you're letting down your parents who raised you for so many years. They surely hope you'll live well and take care of your siblings, not wallow in self-pity."

Jiang Xiaoxiao chimed in, "My sister's right. Don't talk about curses. What's important is living well for yourself. Think about your siblings. They've lost their parents, and if even you, their older sister, were gone, how would they survive?

Would you really leave such young children for them to take care of? That wouldn't be helping them."

She also sensed Liu Guizhi had a hint of resignation, hearing such comments so often she started doubting herself.

Liu Guizhi finally felt a sense of ease, realizing that yes, words from others are beyond your control, but leaving such young children behind for her siblings to suffer would indeed be wrong.

The eldest brother was only 12, and the sister was just eight, hoping she'd return to stabilize the family. If she couldn't stand up, how would she face her deceased parents?

She really dismissed that silly idea from her mind.
