The Blade and The Beloved

Adrian knocked on Alara's door , she had not called him again since she left two days ago.

It opened but the person at the door wasn't her but someone he didn't expect to ever be there.

They stared at each other not saying a word , Rae stepped back opening the door for him to enter.

"She isn't awake yet " said Rae.

"Care to tell me why your here?" Adrian asked instead.

Rae closed the door and walked back in. Adrian sharp gaze still on him.

"Whatever happened between you was mistake , so please leave her alone " he added.

"Mistake?.....she is carrying my child " he stated.

"So...".

"So if it means to take you all down I will to keep her safe from you crazy killers " Rae uttered.

Adrian scoffed.

"Incase you forgot she is a killer too and nothing will change that. As for us , she is our best so we won't lose her to someone like you "

Rae sat back down .

"That will depend "he let out.

"Depend on what ?"

They heard the door to her bedroom open , she walked out yawning. Both men stopped talking and gazed back at her.

"Your too loud " she complained.

"Did we wake yo...u" Adrian frowned noticing that she was dressed in a man's shirt.

He looked back at the shirtless man in the seat and glared.

Alara had stopped ,opened her eyes to see her boss staring at her. She moved seeing Rae seated back watching her too with a smile on his face.

He got up walked to her and gently fixed her bed hair, then muttered.

"Talk to him while I make some breakfast " he walked off to the kitchen.

Adrian still in shock for what he had realized woke up when her hand took his dragging him out to the balcony.

"What is going on ?"he asked.

She avoided his gaze.

"Your living with him fully knowing how dangerous it would be if they found out " he stated.

"He promised to protect me and my family "

"Huh and you believed him ?".

She nodded.

"You fell for him?" he asked.

"No...I don't have feelings for him . But with the situation his the only person who can help me " she answered.

"What about me ...I was ready to help you ".

She took his hands ,"I know but I can't let you do it. It will put you in danger and think of your parents too"

Adrian sighed , "So they contacted you ?".

She fell silent .

"They did , what did they offer ?". he asked squeezing her hands for an answer.

"They will leave me and my family alone if I complete my mission "

"Huh....".

"It's the only way to ensure that they won't come after them or my baby "she cried.

He hugged her , "Am sorry it came to this ".

Alara held onto him sighing.

"Does he know ?".

"No, why would I tell him anything about it . I just have to complete my task and move on ".she muttered.

Adrian smirked.

"Now you sound like Scarlet ...if you need anything let me know ".

She nodded.

They walked back inside to find Rae still busy in the kitchen . He looked back at them .

"Done ?".

She nodded , "his leaving now ".

"Great , for I only made enough breakfast for two " said Rae.

Adrian scoffed glaring ,he pulled out and envelope from his coat and passed it to Alara.

"By midnight tomorrow " he said then walked to door.

She came back and sat down after seeing him off.

"You can't go " said Rae.

"It's my job " she answered back.

"I don't care ...you won't go . Just tell them your pregnant " he stated.

"You have no right over me , I can do whatever I want" she stood her ground.

He moved closer to her staring down at her.

"As long as your carrying my child I do have every right to stop you "

She frowned .

"Leave ...right now " she yelled.

He didn't move a muscle .

"If you want to stay in my life and this baby then you need to accept who i am ...a killer , a cold blooded assassin and i need to do my job ,so back off ".

She breathed glaring back at him then stormed off to her bedroom.

When she finally stepped out of her room again ,he was gone .

"You came " Adrian smiled seeing Alara walk into his office.

"Mmm, aslong as they still have use for me . I will be here " she hugged him.

"They told me about your deal and I can confirm they will stick to it " he said.

She slight smiled sitting down .

"Something happen ?". He noticed her sullen face.

"No..." She lied.

"Had an argument with you roommate ?" asked Adrian.

"He just doesn't get it "

He scoffed.

"Get what ...that your carrying evidence that could kill you and your family or that you work for us ?".

"Both ...".

"He doesn't know about your deal with us ,so he must think aslong as your still working for us your in danger . And that means his child is too" explained Adrian.

She sighed.

"I don't need him babying me around ,I can take care of myself "

Adrian leaned back .

"Truth is I hate him and hate that he did this too but his right " .

"What ?".

"Your body is changing not the one your used to so you being out there in that state is dangerous to both you and the baby " he explained.

She got up , "am tired of everyone saying that . It's my body I know it better than anyone ".

She was moving to the door now leaving .

Adrian muttered after her.

"You know he sees you as a woman and not as a weapon ,like you see yourself "

She didn't say anything and walked out.

Adrian had seen the way Rae looked at her.

He was in love with just like he was , but unlike Adrian ....Rae wasnt a coward and was open about his feelings for her even openly threatening them for her .

She had no idea that the deal she had been offered was from him not them .
