The Bizarre Wizarding World

Chapter 490: Redemption (Part 2)

"Okay, please wait a moment." The Exchange Wizard looked at the small mountain in front of him, feeling somewhat tongue-tied, but his good demeanor allowed him to maintain his composure and continue speaking respectfully.

Booster and the others nodded slightly.

They watched the Exchange Wizard behind the counter place each metal nameplate on a specially designed witchcraft device, and somehow, they suddenly felt silent.

"Galen Bell, Solace Kasel, Schmitt Aziz, Bodi Albert..."

The nameplates were inscribed with names both short and long, familiar and unfamiliar. Some of these people were still alive, but some... even their remains could no longer be found.

War is always so cruel... Booster sighed inwardly.

But fortunately, everyone's efforts were not in vain.

The continuously increasing numbers on the square witchcraft device before them were the best proof of that.

Before long, the Exchange Wizard finally finished summarizing all the war merits.

"The total is 1,213,656 war merits, Councilman." The Exchange Wizard carefully gathered all the nameplates and handed them back, then handed the nameplate that contained all of Booster's war merits.

His manner of handling the nameplates made Booster feel a sense of appreciation, and he softly thanked him.

"No need to thank me." The Exchange Wizard shook his head, paused, and looked earnestly at Booster's hand, saying: "It is thanks to you and their efforts that we can welcome peace today."

Booster said no more. After carefully putting away all the nameplates, he finally asked about today's main event.

"Have the specific exchange lists for war merits been released?"

"They have been released." The Exchange Wizard nodded.

"How many war merits would roughly be needed to exchange for the ruling rights of Kararli City?"

The Exchange Wizard was slightly taken aback, "Please wait a moment, sir."

For exchange items as expensive and unique as the ruling rights of Kararli, the war merits required for exchange would only be decided after the war ended.

Some that are hard to determine will even have their final ownership decided via auction.

Turning to look at the list placed aside, the Exchange Wizard carefully flipped through it several times, then looked up and said to Booster in confusion:

"Councilman, I did not find 'Kararli City's ruling rights' among the exchange items."

"Is it not there?" Booster and the others were stunned.

Before the general offensive began, the Supreme Councilman had informed them of the areas available for exchange, which formed an irregular shape centered around Graham City.

Kararli City was among them and not even on the edge... How could it not be on the exchange list now?

"What about Keruk City?" Gray asked from the side.

"...Also not there, madam."

"What about Letti City and Saze City?"

"Not there either." The Exchange Wizard continued to shake his head, his voice inexplicably smaller as he looked at the grim-looking Booster and the others.

After a moment of silence, Booster asked, "Which regions are available on the exchange list?"

"Please wait..." The Exchange Wizard picked up the exchange list on his right hand, paused, and read:

"The Wizard Cities currently available for exchange include Saze City, Andri City, among others, totaling sixteen Wizard Cities, requiring war merits ranging from fifty thousand to one hundred thousand.

Also available for exchange are areas such as Mol Icefield, Thorny Snow Mountain, and several dozen other regions, requiring war merits ranging from ten thousand to two hundred thousand."

Listening to the words of the Exchange Wizard, the hearts of Booster and the others gradually sank.

Saze City, Andri City... These are merely small cities with, at most, Second Rank Magic Energy Ore Veins.

Typically, Second Rank Magic Energy Ore Veins signify the capacity to sustain a large number of Second Rank Wizards and a certain number of Third Rank Wizards... As for Fourth Rank Wizards, it would be somewhat strenuous.

If they can only exchange for these places, it would clearly be inadequate for Booster and the others.

"Are you certain that only these regions are available for exchange, sir?" Booster paused for a moment and continued to ask, "Before the general offensive, that was not what the Supreme Councilman informed us."

"Did the Supreme Councilman mention to you that there are other regions available for exchange...?" The Exchange Wizard thought for a moment, handed over the exchange list beside him reluctantly, and said, "But on the list I received now, these are the only ones."

Watching Booster take the list, the Exchange Wizard thought for a moment and said, "Please wait a moment, I will ask other wizards."

Saying this, he got up and moved to the back, walked along the back of the counter for a while, and finally found a free wizard.

"Andrey."

"Rach, what are you doing here?" Andrey, who was enjoying a fleeting moment of leisure sitting at the counter, turned at Rach's call and asked somewhat puzzled.

Rach approached him and briefly described everything that had just happened.

After listening, Andrey straightened up, looked around, motioned for Rach to come closer, and then whispered:

"The councilman you attended is correct; Kararli, Keruk, and even Graham City were initially on the exchange list, but they have now all been exchanged."

"They have already been exchanged?" Rach was astonished.

"Of course, they were exchanged shortly after the exchange list was released last night." Andrey said somewhat exasperatedly, "I told you to curb your bad temper and avoid associating with those Half-blood Wizards, but you didn't listen. Now see, no one even told you about this."
