Chapter 95: Welcome To The Highschool Of The Dead!
In the morning on the highway in Japan, around ten kilometers away from Tokonosu City, a tear in space suddenly appeared in the middle of the road like a curtain being cut open by an invisible knife as the air around the tear rippled mesmerizingly like heat haze. The people who had been driving their car on the highway saw the anomaly suddenly appear and immediately hit the brake of their car in panic. The screech of tires and the blaring of horns filled the air as the cars behind them scrambled to stop before they crashed into the back of the cars in front.
After the initial panic, cursing, and confusion, some of the drivers and passengers on the highway quickly stepped out of their vehicles before they cautiously walked towards the tear to see what on earth was happening, like a moth to a flame, as they couldn't resist their own curiosity.
The mysterious tear in space continued to grow larger until its size was large enough for a human to walk through it, and then, as if being stabilized, the tear suddenly stopped growing wider under the bewildered gazes of the people that were forming a circle around the tear without getting too close.
The tear is emitting a very bright light from the other side that the people can't see what's inside the tear, as they can only look at each other with uncertainty, having no idea of what this is and how to respond to this anomaly's existence. Some people amongst the crowd are even trying to get closer to the unknown tear with reckless curiosity, showcasing their lack of intelligence magnificently.
The reckless idiots aside, most of the people were just standing around without knowing what to do, and some were pulling out their flip phones to record the idiots who get close to the tear with sick anticipation of what might happen to them.
"What's that...?"
Then the guy who was getting very close to the tear could see a small silhouette suddenly appear within the tear amidst the bright light as he stopped dead on his track by surprise. It was faint at first before the shadow silhouette started to get clearer and darker with every passing second as if something was getting closer and about to come out of the tear itself.
Seeing that something is about to come out of the mysterious tear, the idiots that were getting closer to the tear suddenly get their common sense back and immediately run back to the crowd in panic, much to the disappointment of the people who were recording, but that quickly is replaced by a sense of morbid curiosity for what will happen next.
It was an anxious and trepidation-filled moment that seemed to silence the sound from every person around the mysterious tear in space as they focused on the growing silhouette within the tear. The only noise that could be heard was the distant murmur of the people and car horns from far back, as they don't know what's going on that's causing the traffic jam in the front.
The silhouette finally arrived close enough that its humanoid figure became clear to the people, and just as they were waiting nervously with morbid curiosity for what kind of alien creature would come out of the tear, the figure finally came out of the tear as they stepped foot into the Highschool of the Dead world.
"A-a foreign man...?"
Someone in the crowd mumbles with doubt as they see what seems to be a tall and muscular young man with short blonde hair and icy blue eyes who is dressed in a black suit, black gloves, and black dress shoes coming out of the tear in space with casual steps.
"Oh? Quite a warm welcome just for me…"
The man from another reality Zeno Zavior muttered in mild surprise as he looked around him and saw a crowd of people watching him with various expressions. He then smirks as he sees some dumbass actually recording him amongst the crowd with their flip phones. Humans are still the same even if they are in other universes, Zeno thought to himself in amusement.
"Well, let's see…"
Deciding to ignore them for now, Zeno looked down on his HMT in the form of a golden digital wristwatch that he modified with Godblood on his left wrist as a blue hologram screen immediately projected out from the wristwatch with necessary information about this Highschool of the Dead world that the Godblood just scanned for him.
"Interesting…"
He muttered with his eyebrow rising in intrigue. From what the data says, the time in the Highschool of the Dead world is 10,000 times faster than in his DXD world, and no supernatural or unique energy is detected in this world, meaning that this world has no supernatural being, or at least on this planet.
There's also some interesting information about a source of the zombie virus in this world, as the virus has already infected all of mankind on the planet and awaits some kind of trigger to activate. Fortunately, 30% of humans have immunity to the virus, so humanity is not immediately wiped out on the first day of the outbreak in the story.
Zeno also read from the hologram screen that the origin of the virus seems to be artificial, either from some lab accident or malicious intent from some secret organization that wants to destroy humanity.
"I see..."
No wonder that the zombies managed to spread so fast and somehow destroyed the governments around the world in the series, Zeno thought with a hum. He's not interested in the origin of the virus very much; he is only here to play around before taking over the world when he gets bored after all.
"Hmm?"
When he is looking at the hologram screen, he notices that some dumbass is actually trying to get close to him with their phone pointing at him.
"..."
With an amazed expression on his face, Zeno mentally commanded the Godblood to release from his body in a cloud of glittery mist that spread out in a wide range and enveloped all of the panicked people in a five-kilometer radius as they got hypnotized instantly by the Godblood to forget about the tear in space, the man who came out of it, and why they are stopping in the middle of the roads.
"Well then…"
With a smirk, Zeno recalled the cloud of Godblood back inside his body before he turned invisible and flew up into the sky, leaving a hypnotized people on the highway to return to their cars and continue driving to their destination like nothing ever happened, as well as the missing record of him in their phones.
After that, Zeno hacks into the satellites with his HMT wristwatch and pulls up his location and the way to Tonokosu City in a second.
"It's a good thing that I'm very close…"
He muttered while looking away from the hologram screen in front of him to the east direction where the city is.
"Tonokusu City, here I come."
Zeno smirked while he closed down the hologram screen before he changed the direction of his flight to the direction of the Tonokosu City while crossing his arms on his chest as he zooming away in the sky.
÷×÷×÷
Meanwhile, in the DXD universe, after Zeno's departure to the Highschool of the Dead world, the girls had decided to have a vacation of their own as they left their work to their shadow clones and gathered in the living room as they were chatting with each other about the babies and whatever came to their minds at the moment. Some of the girls also could be seen knitting clothes for the unborn babies as they just feel like doing it for some reason.
The mood in the living room is pretty lively and filled with happiness that Baeta, who finds herself in the middle of it, wanted to leave from the room as she feels like she is the only odd one out.
"..."
She turned her gaze to the side and saw her friend Ruth, who was making a serious face as she clumsily knitted a baby shirt next to Asia, who was giving her advice with a gentle smile. It's quite a strange sight to Baeta since she never saw her friend being interested in this kind of thing before. Baeta wonders if her friend is trying to feminize herself for someone.
"Nyaaauu~ Nyaaah~ Nyaoo~"
"Ehehehe~!"
Hearing the lazy meows of her chonky pet and the adorable giggles of a baby, Baeta turned her face to the sight of Big Chill, who was chilling on his back on top of the white fluffy rug while the baby Ziah giggled in amusement as she jiggled his big soft belly with her small hands while he meowed from time to time in response to the shakes of his belly. Ziah has a gummy smile on her cute face as she is having a blast of fun playing with her big fluffy friend.
Next to them is Rurari, who is filming the baby and the cat interaction with HMT in amusement as she munches on snacks from her snack bowl.
( AN: Rurari is the clone of Ruruko. )
"..."
Baeta purses her lips in a thoughtful expression as she sees her chonky cat enjoying himself in the new environment with new people.
Maybe being here is not so bad as she first thought since everything seems very peaceful so far...
"Kuroka-chan~ can you turn into a cat~?"
On another side of the room, Himiko could be seen repeatedly poking Kuroka, who is dressed in a white t-shirt with the kanji word that means "special" printed on it and a pair of hot pants, sitting on the floor as she reads a shounen manga while she drinks lemon juice from a straw on top of the coffee table.
"No way, nya!"
Kuroka glances at Himiko in annoyance and outright refuses her; she doesn't want to experience what this woman might do to her ever again.
"Ehh~ you don't have to be shy even if you are a youkai, you know~?"
Himiko sighed with a little disappointment at the rejection but didn't stop her poking at Koroka's arm to get her attention.
"Stop bothering me, nya!"
"Ehh~?"
Kuroka could only sigh at Himiko's persistence. It's too bad that her chonky hero is occupied playing with the baby at the moment…
"So peaceful…"
Asia hums as she looks at the other girls around the living room with a content smile on her face. This peaceful time is so precious to her.
"Is this good enough, Asia?"
"Ah, yes?"
Before she could reminisce, Ruth's voice suddenly called out to her and snapped her out of it as she looked at Ruth's work and gave advice to her with a smile.
Thus the day passes by as the Liberty Palace on Freedom Island is still as peaceful as ever…
