Chapter 7: Another fight
As mike watched the knights through his dorm window, he saw them spreading out in different directions of course there where only the two of them but then ,mike realized where they were going remembering auras' words " choose" so he rushed over to Alexs' room but did he not find him, this made mike anxious before he heard a sound coming from amongst the hallways using his key sensitive hearing, with no time to waste he went to check it out.
Mike's heart pounded in his chest as he stared at the knight who had just attacked his friend, John. Blood soaked through John's shirt where the sword had cut deep, and the panic rising in Mike's chest was overwhelming. John's eyes fluttered as he slipped toward unconsciousness, and Mike's mind raced. He couldn't lose another friend—not like this. But before he could do anything, the knight stepped back, his cold, calculating eyes scanning the room for any more threats.
Mike didn't hesitate. He leapt to his feet and rushed at the knight, his mind focused only on survival. His body, already infused with Danzol's energy, felt like it was on fire—literally. Flames surged through his veins as his body turned into a whirlwind of power, faster and stronger than ever before. But Danzol wasn't just fire. The phoenix spirit had granted him a range of abilities: strength, ice, speed, and flight. With the flick of his wrist, a shield of ice formed around him to blocku the knight's next strike. The knight sneered and swung his blade with precision, the sound of metal cutting through the air. *Not fast enough.* Mike's fist met the knight's chest with a punch fueled by the force of Danzol's magic. The knight staggered back, but he wasn't finished. The fight was far from over.
Mike's thoughts briefly flashed back to the previous night when he had been sitting in his dorm, trying to figure out what to do with the knights. His mind was spinning, trying to piece together what was happening and why these knights were after him. He had no answers, only fear—fear that if he didn't stop them, things would spiral out of control. The attacks on his friends were only the beginning. But then, he saw them. From his dorm window, he saw the knights spreading out, dispersing into different parts of the city. They were methodical, organized—this wasn't just a random attack. Something far bigger was happening, and Mike finally realized the full scope of it.
He understood now. The knights were searching for something—or someone. He was their target.Back in the abandoned building, Mike was struggling against the knight, trying to fend him off. He was aware of the urgency of the situation. He had to stop them before they hurt anyone else, but it wasn't just the knights he had to worry about. Danzol's voice echoed in his mind, guiding him as he fought.
*Mike, focus! You have the power to end this. Don't let them control the battle.*
With Danzol's power flowing through him, Mike pushed back against the knight with everything he had. Ice wrapped around the knight's limbs, freezing him in place momentarily. Mike used the opening to unleash a blast of fire that sent the knight crashing into a crumbling wall. But it wasn't over. The knight gritted his teeth and managed to break free of the ice, only to charge at Mike once again. This time, he moved quicker, fueled by dark energy that Mike could feel radiating off him. Mike's heart skipped a beat, realizing that this wasn't just an ordinary knight. There was something else driving him—something stronger. He needed to end this quickly. The distant sound of sirens and the hum of city traffic barely reached his ears as he focused on the fight. The urgency of the situation gnawed at him. He needed to find out why the knights were after him—and who was behind it. That's when he heard it—a voice in the back of his mind.
*Mike, do not forget the bigger picture. You are being led into something far greater than you realize.*
Danzol's words rang through him, and for the first time, Mike understood the weight of his mission. He wasn't just fighting for his survival—he was fighting for the fate of the world. Aura, the Shadow Emperor, was coming, and Mike was the only one who could stop her.
The knight lunged at him again, but this time, Mike was ready. He summoned every ounce of power he had left, combining fire and ice in a devastating explosion that sent the knight crashing to the ground, unconscious. Mike stood there, breathing heavily, his mind still racing. He had won the fight—but the war was far from over.Rushing to John's side, Mike knelt beside him, checking for signs of life. His friend was still breathing, but he was pale and unconscious. Mike wasn't sure if John would make it, but he had to act quickly. Gently, he pressed his hand to John's chest, trying to steady his breathing. He needed to get him help. But just as he was about to move, he saw something in the corner of his eye—movement. Someone was watching him.
Mike's instincts kicked in, and before he could react, he spun around, ready for another fight. But it wasn't a knight. It was Alex.
"Mike…" Alex's voice was shaky, filled with disbelief. He was standing in the doorway, looking at Mike like he had never seen him before. "What's going on? Why are you—why are you fighting?"
Mike's heart sank. This wasn't the time to explain everything to Alex—not with the knights still out there. But he had no choice.
"Alex, get back. You don't know what's happening. You need to stay safe," Mike warned, his voice strained.
But Alex just shook his head. "No, Mike. I don't understand. What have you gotten yourself into?"
Before Mike could answer, Alex's eyes flickered with something else—something darker. The change was subtle, but it was there. Mike froze, realizing what it meant.Alex wasn't himself. The darkness had already reached Alex. Aura's influence had already begun to take hold of him. It was happening again—someone he cared about was being twisted into something they weren't. Mike's hands clenched into fists, but he knew he couldn't lose his friend to the same force that had nearly taken John.
This wasn't just a fight for survival anymore. This was a battle against an ancient evil, and Mike was caught in the middle of it.
With Danzol's power surging through him, Mike readied himself for whatever came next. He wasn't sure what to do. He wasn't sure how to save Alex. But he knew one thing—if he didn't find a way to stop Aura soon, everyone would be lost. The darkness had already begun to spread. Would Mike be able to fight it before it consumed everyone he cared about?
