The Awakened Blader

After the announcements are over Kodai meets up with the others in the hallway.

"Oh my god that was amazing!" Liz exclaims.

"Yeah I didn't know you had that kind of attitude in you." Benji says.

"I just figured it'd make them try a bit harder and hopefully make this more enjoyable." Kodai explains.

Everyone else was either talking about said speech or their own things.

" Yeah I bet my entire retirement fund on last years winners." A man said tucking on his tie having come here right from work.

"Dude I wouldn't do that this year, there's some crazy newcomers." Another man said.

"Their newcomers for a reason, if they were any good they'd have been here last year." The suited man scoffed.

"No look!" The other man exclaimed shoving his phone in his face.

The man scans over the screen, it's a battle record of team Draco Pugnatores.

"Hah just as I expected half the team Myers have no battle history!" He scoffed.

"No no look at this guy and the captain." He exclaimed.

"He had a 100% win Rate until he encountered the captain, his battle history only goes back about a week and in that week he won a tournament every day except the last." He explained.

The suited man yanked the phone and began reading furiously.

"A-and most of these guys were top level bladers!" He exclaimed.

"Yeah dude you just made the worst bet of your life." The other man explained.

"Can you fill me in ok the details, I left early." Kodai said.

"So uh it's first to 3 wins and you battle until you lose." Benji said.

"I kinda guessed that, I watched some videos in that." Kodai explains.

"Okay well besides that all that's left is the money." Benji said.

"Explain away." Kodai exclaimed.

"So we get paid two grand each for every time we win, and ten grand each for winning the whole thing." Benji explained.

"If I'm right, that's good." Kodai said.

"Well duh." Benji exclaimed.

"So what do we do until our battle?" Liz asks.

"We'll that's obvious, we train!" Benji exclaims.

When reading the brochure Benji noticed that the stadium had a public gym and even a private gym for those who can fork out a couple grand and of course they rented the private gym.

The gym was fitted with the basic things like free weights, machines for major muscle groups, even launch training and beyblade launchers.

"Woah! I've never even seen some of the machines here!" Liz exclaimed.

"Yeah me either, well not in person anyways." Benji remarked.

Benji hurriedly rushes to the launch machine.

"I can't wait to see what my launch score is, I heard most people get about ten thousand to fifteen thousand." Benji explains.

"Wow that's a lot!" Liz said.

"Not really, the average child could get about that much." Benji replied.

He gripped the handle prepared to test his might but as he was about to pull a woman in a lab coat enters the room.

"I see you're interested in testing your power am I right?" The lady asks.

The group collectively nods.

"Follow me." She said.

The group follows her to a room with a machine many times larger than the previous.

"This right here is our newest variation of the machine you was about to use, this right here is much much more capable than that machine and you can use it as both a measurement device and workout machine, who's up first?" She asks.

"That'll be me!" Benji declares.

Benji steps up to the machine and grips as hard as he can, his forearms bulge and expand as his muscles are activated and he pulls with all his might.

The machine beeps and whirrs before coming to a stop and displaying a number.

"Impressive forty thousand and five hundred, a truly monumental power." She exclaimed.

Liz steps up next.

"I'm net beyblade but I'm really interested in what I'm capable of." Liz exclaims.

She grips the handle just like Benji had done before her and yanks on it with a roar.

It doesn't budge.

"What!?" She yells.

"Oh I forgot to tell you, this machine is several times more difficult to pull so a normal blader wouldn't even be able to move it." She scoffs.

Liz returns to the group and pouts.

"I'm not normal, Kodai work your magic!" She demands.

Kodai steps up to the machine.

"I dont know what you intend to do but this machine can take anything a human can do to it-" She said.

The woman gets cut off as kodai grips the handle and yanks on it, the steel cables connecting it making a cracking sound as it fully extends and rips off.

"Huh... pretty low quality." Kodai said tossing the handle to the side.

"W-what are you doing you can just treat my machines like some cheap toy!" She screams in anger.

"Why not?" Kodai asks with a confused look on his face.

"W-w-what do you mean why not!? This machine cost millions of dollars, do you realize how much effort and resources were put into this piece of machinery!?" She screams.

"This machine was weak, it couldn't have cost anywhere near that much." Kodai retorts.

The woman prepared to scream again but was cut off by loud buzzer.

"I understand that it was just an accident and was most likely due to a fault in the machine, you will not have to pay for any of this." She said politely before guiding the group out.

"See look what you did now Kodai you got us banned!" Benji exclaimed.

"He did not, it was the machines fault!" Liz retorted.

"I guess you're right, it would be impossible for a human to do that to a non faulty machine." Benji heeded.
