NOVEL NEXT Chapter 96: Encounter with a Magician
A chill ran down Hayden's spine as he remembered this sensation… It was definitely the killing intent since he had endured so much of this while being trained by the Headmaster.
So, just like his training, his body reacted before his mind could process it. His muscles tensed as his hand immediately gripped his sword.

Hayden then started walking faster to avoid the killing intent. He also decided not to run in order to avoid suspicions…

But then, five figures stepped into the square.
Their arrival had caused some commotion in the crowd as well…
They were clad in unmarked leather armor with their faces obscured by half-masks…
"Aura Knights!"
One of the crowd gasped as soon as he saw the five armored individuals. It seemed that these five were also quite famous!

"So annoying… How dare you lowly knights attack me!" The magician finally spoke and it was a voice of a woman…
Although the magician was outnumbered, there was no sign of helplessness in her voice. She was simply annoyed by their presence!
Soon, her spells grew wilder…
She released more fire spells and covered more area! One knight took a hit to the shoulder and his armor started smoking… It was a powerful fire spell but he didn't slow.
"Die!" The Aura Knight then moved so quickly and covered a ten-meter distance in a blink of an eye!
Then—
A blade pierced the magician's thigh.
A second blade also gouged her side as the other Aura Knight was able to arrive in time…
However, to their shock, no blood had splattered and they felt almost no resistance from their strike…
"Fools… You've gone arrogant just because I'm poisoned…"
The magician then reappeared behind the two and summoned a stronger spell.
This time, Hayden was able to get more details about the incantation she used…
"Flare Burst!" The magician shouted after her chant.
The explosion lit up the square, forcing even Hayden to shield his eyes.
When the light faded, the magician was gone—she had vanished without leaving any traces at all!
The lead knight cursed at this as he sheathed his sword.
"Find that Evil Sorcerer! She's poisoned, she won't get far."
Then, as if sensing Hayden's presence, the knight's masked face turned toward his hiding spot.

He melted into the fleeing crowd, moving through alleyways, doubling back twice to ensure he wasn't followed.

'That was incredible… A single magician fighting against five Aura Knights while also poisoned at that…'
