The Aura Ascendant: A Knight's Unbroken Path

Chapter 61: Observed

The moment they heard that Eve was planning to hurt their students, they felt even more determined to stop her. There was no need to compromise with an Evil Magician since they could never be trusted.

Mensa and Sabin exchanged a glance, their years of partnership allowed them to communicate without words.

They knew they couldn't overpower Eve with brute force alone—they needed to outthink her.

"You dare threaten my students… You'll regret this." Mensa exclaimed as a gray aura surrounded his body. This time, it wasn't just his sword but his whole body.

However, instead of attacking, Mensa shifted into a defensive stance. It seemed that he only used his Aura as a protective barrier around him instead of using it for offensive movement.

Sabin, on the other hand, circled the Sorcerer, as if waiting for a signal.

"Both of you had gone senile…"

Eve sighed as she released a dark magic spell. It seemed as if she conjured whips made of darkness that lashed out at the Aura Knights, forcing them to either dodge or deflect.

Just one hit from this could actually destroy the protective aura around them!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

In just three hits, Mensa and Sabin were already struggling to keep up. Eve's magic was truly different from what they'd encountered before. To be exact, her control over dark energy was unlike anything they had faced before.

"We can't keep this up forever," Sabin muttered, his breathing was already heavy.

"We don't have to," Mensa replied. "We just need to hold her off until the old Magicians arrive."

Eve overheard their conversation and laughed. "You think those old fools will save you? They're too slow, too complacent. By the time they get here, you'll both be dead. I don't think they'd even show themselves. I'm only dealing with some naughty Aura Knights after all. Don't you know about the unwritten rule of the Magicians?"

Mensa and Sabin couldn't care less what she was saying right now.

They just knew that they had to fight with everything they've got.

Suddenly, Mensa's gray Aura formed like a massive shield, deflecting Eve's dark spell!

Of course, it was still an Aura that was concentrated on Mensa's arm…

On the other hand, Sabin's Aura was distributed on his feet and at his sword!

Boom!

His feet crushed the floor as he aimed to break Eve's barrier with everything he had!

The two Aura Knights moved in perfect harmony and knew that this was their only chance to win against a Magician!

Bam!

Unfortunately, they still failed to defeat her…

Eve just waved her hand and shattered the ground! This simple move sent both Aura Knights flying.

The difference was simply too big!

Perhaps, if Eve planned to kill the two from the start, they wouldn't even have the chance to fight at all.

Thud… Thud…

Mensa and Sabin landed hard and their Aura had also visibly disappeared. There was even some dark mana lingering on their bodies because of the spell just now.

Eve stood over them while shaking her head.

"Since I can't sense the Aura Crystal in this room, I guess you really kept it somewhere else. You're no longer needed." Eve muttered as she decided to finally kill the two.

Just as she raised her hand to deliver the final blow, a voice interrupted her spellcasting.

"Enough."

Eve froze as she realized that the two dying Magicians hiding in the castle had truly come out.

'Seriously… Are they crazy?' Eve frowned as she could tell that these two old magicians were already close to their deaths.

After they had gone closer, she was able to easily tell that they could probably just last two or three years more being buried.

'Do they want to have some kind of honorable death instead of attempting another breakthrough?' Eve mused as she knew that this kind of magician who was about to die would at least try to form another Mana Circle as a last hurrah.

If they failed, they would surely die… However, if they somehow succeed, their lifespan will be extended and they will also become a lot stronger.

Unfortunately, it seemed that these two Magicians had different thoughts.

The two figures slowly approached as they eyed the female magician.

Eve hesitated, then stepped back. A magician who had nothing more to lose was the most irritating opponent she could have right now.

Furthermore, she wasn't sure what kind of Spells they could use. Nonetheless, as long as the two couldn't use any form of Holy Magic, her Dark Spells should be just fine.

"Hey… Did the two of you receive the Aura Crystal from them?" Eve asked pointing at the two defeated Aura Knights.

"Yes." One of the old cloaked magicians replied without any hesitation. There was no moment of delay at all.

Eve couldn't help but frown after hearing this. It was no wonder the two Magicians had arrived.

As a fellow magician, she could imagine hundreds of reasons why they wanted the Aura Crystal, so she wasn't surprised either.

However, the fact that her hard work was gone just like that, she couldn't help but feel frustrated.

She was only a Two Mana Circle Magician after all. On the other hand, the two old Magicians had Three Mana Circles. There was simply no way for her to win unless she was prepared to die like the other two.

"Tsk… This isn't over." Eve said with a low voice before she vanished into the shadows.

As Eve disappeared, however, the two Magicians did let their guard down…

As a matter of fact, they glanced at the nearby building where a young man who seemed to have an incredible eye was watching everything that had been happening in this area.

"Ho~ Look at this kid…"
