The Aura Ascendant: A Knight's Unbroken Path

Chapter 52: Aura Knight's Level

The students who had discovered this scene froze in terror as the undead Aura Knight turned its gaze toward them.

Thankfully, the undead Aura Knight wasn't moving and it could only shift its gaze toward them.

Professor Zainab seemed to have noticed their presence as she suddenly moved and looked in their direction.

Her voice was already weak but urgent. "Run! Get help! You can't fight it alone! I can't suppress it for long…"

The students didn't need to be told twice. The undead Aura Knight wasn't attacking them because Professor Zainab was doing something to it.

It may be some sort of artifact that could restrain the undead Aura Knight…

"We will return, Professor!"

The students immediately fled the graveyard. As they neared the academy, they shouted to call the Professors' attention as they needed reinforcements.

Professor Rhasta and the others heard the student's report.

"An undead Aura Knight? This is no ordinary threat. We need the Headmaster—now!"

Everyone agreed and within minutes, Headmaster Mensa and Vice Headmaster Sabin, both retired Aura Knights, arrived at the graveyard together with other professors and students who decided to follow them.

Soon, everyone saw Professor Zainab, who was visibly weakened, kneeling on the ground and clutching an artifact.

The undead Aura Knight stood still, while it was glaring at her.

If one observed closely, one would surely notice that the skeletal frame was struggling against an invisible force.

As soon as they all arrived, Professor Zainab was visibly elated.

"I can only hold it for 15 more minutes!" Professor Zainab shouted. "I'll explain what happened later, but we have to kill this thing first!"

Headmaster Mensa nodded as he looked at the undead Aura Knight.

"Stand back, everyone. We'll handle this."

As the professors and students gathered at a safe distance, Headmaster Mensa addressed them calmly.

"Professor Rhasta, rescue Professor Zainab… Everyone else, move back about 100 meters from us. This is not a fight for the inexperienced. But watch closely—this will be a lesson for everyone. Witness the power of an Aura Knight."

The crowd obeyed. Currently, they felt a slight fear but still filled with anticipation.

Witnessing the prowess of true Aura Knights was not easy.

Hayden and the others soon found a vantage point atop a nearby building, giving them a clear view of the battlefield.

Soon, Professor Rhasta grabbed Zainab and fled the scene. As soon as Zainab got out of the distance, the artifact she was holding shattered, and soon, the undead Aura Knight felt its restraints disappear!

As soon as it felt free, the undead Aura Knight didn't immediately attack and seemed to be assessing the surroundings.

As Headmaster Mensa and Vice Headmaster Sabin approached the undead Aura Knight, the Headmaster's eyes squinted…

"That armor…"

He recognized the tattered armor and the faint remnants of a crest on the Knight's chest.

"By the gods… it's Sir Clover…" Headmaster Mensa said. He was filled with emotion as if he had met the person when they were still alive.

Sabin nodded as he also recognized the armor.

"He was one of the greatest Aura Knights of his time. I fought alongside him decades ago. To see him like this… it's an abomination."

Vice Headmaster Sabin placed a hand on Mensa's shoulder. "We'll give him the peace he deserves. Let's end this."

Hayden heard their conversation easily but the others didn't. He wasn't sure why but it seemed related to his Ocularis Lens.

"An undead Aura Knight against a retired Aura Knight… I wonder how this battle will end." Hayden muttered as he felt quite excited to see how Aura Knights truly fight.

After the remnants of the suppression had worn off, the undead Aura Knight finally came back to its senses.

It soon noticed the presence of its equals and roared...

"Graahh!"

The Aura Knight then charged forward to the nearest opponent, Headmaster Mensa.

Its skeletal hand was still gripping a rusted but still deadly sword. Hayden then noticed that it was coated by an invisible energy.

Invisible Aura was the first level or the beginner's Aura for all Aura Users…

Of course, Sir Clover may have had a higher level of Aura before but after becoming an undead, it was probably no longer capable of producing its previous Aura.

Needless to say, from the moment Hayden saw the undead Aura Knight, the Ocularis Lens was already recording everything.

"Come…"

Seeing the undead Aura Knight, Headmaster Mensa's Aura activated, and a grayish light enveloped his body!

"A second-level Aura Knight!"

"I heard Headmaster Mensa previously had blue Aura… A third-level Aura."

"He's already old and retired… It's already amazing that he could still manifest a gray Aura."

The crowd murmured as this was their first time seeing the Headmaster's Aura…

Vice Headmaster Sabin also made his move as he knew that despite their higher level of Aura, their bodies may not be able to keep up. They had to work together to ensure that they wouldn't suffer injuries.

Just like that, a faint gray Aura surged around him as he took up a defensive position. It could be seen that Sabin's aura seemed dimmer than that of the Headmaster.

At this time, Headmaster Mensa's sword met with the undead's sword…

Bang!

He parried the undead Aura Knight's strike, but the force of the impact sent shockwaves rippling through the ground…

Although the students and professors had already moved about a hundred meters away, the shockwave still caused some disturbance!
