At the moment there were a total of 3 classes during the afternoon, and every day there would be 3 different classes that would go from Monday to Friday. These classes would only change in a year, with some of the classes becoming more advanced versions and others literally disappearing if there weren't enough students. For now, I would take advantage and attend all of them and only then decide which one I would continue after a month. Because of the classes, Jack and the apprentice returned to the tower and Sir Arthur and some armed men were left to keep an eye on our tower and shop. I didn't know yet if we were completely safe from the problems we had since arriving in the city, so I was very worried about my employees who were just ordinary people. Although I had made some changes to them, there are still limits to my method. That's why the class I'm most looking forward to is the one on the 3 professions. But today all we have are the first 3 on the list.
It's finally 1:00 PM and the first class begins: General Knowledge of the Tower and Magic Principles!
Although it's a simple class and only explains more details about the tower and things like how its basic structure works, the magic principles were simple methods for using spells and other common knowledge of magic, it's a good enough class for someone who is a complete novice like some crew members and my blacksmith. The only advantage for me in this class is the possibility for everyone to ask their questions. Starting with Zhang who asked which spell he should train since "body and soul" have few options. He still seemed a little lost, the teacher of this first class is again Daran the same old man who guided us on the first day of tests, he recommended Zhang to take the free knowledge summon lesser undead, and basic body refinement.
In the private knowledge he talked about the medium level meditation technique. Since unlike other people his special physique allowed him to meditate twice as fast as others and as a bonus meditation also improves his body. Then Jhon asked if he should take this meditation as well, but the old man said that at our current level, basic meditation is still very effective, the reason for this is that basic meditation only starts to lose its effects after a period of strengthening of 20-40 years.
He took the opportunity to recommend to those who were in doubt about which private knowledge to choose, to take the high-level domestication technique from the tower, since it would be the one that would help newbies the most in the short term, and the technique that was in the free knowledge had many limitations. The boy that everyone called little Liu just asked questions about learning a very strange sacred spell, and also had his doubts cleared up. Soon it was my turn and my question left everyone confused.
"Old Daran, a few months ago I acquired an animal domestication technique, and a certain doubt has been making me restless... What is the difference between a skinchanger, a dragon lord and a tamer?"
Old Daran remained silent, then said he would pass my question on to the Master of the Tower and answer me later. Of course I knew what a skinchanger and a dragon lord were, but I still wanted to know the difference between them and a tamer, how much magic was involved and what the limits of a tamer were. At that moment my raven was still on my shoulder and inside my pocket there was another creature that after being born only ate some volcanic purples and had been sleeping ever since. Its size was smaller than my index finger.
After me, there were 3 more questions that the old man could not answer, and there were many students who did not ask anything. With that, the class ended a little over 1 hour later. And at that same time everyone went to the next room without even having a break.
It was the Ancient Languages and Asshai'i class. I stayed in this class only for the ancient languages, but today was very disappointing, the teacher only noted who could not speak Asshai'i yet, as these students would have to take many classes to master the language. Then he said that only the fourth class of the month would be about ancient languages, thus leaving all those fluent in Asshai'i free of the next two classes in the next two weeks.
And finally we had our "Elemental Magic Principles 1" class. This class was really the most enlightening, the teacher taught us magic words spoken in the Asshai'i language that just by shouting them during an incantation, ritual or spell casting could strengthen the elemental and magical effects, and gave a good initial introduction to all the elements and how they would be formed, their strengths and weaknesses, etc. When the third class ended it was already night, I went to the cafeteria to have dinner, and then stopped by the library to return yesterday's books and get "new ones". In fact, I was duplicating everything there for my system library and these exchanges were just to not draw attention.
Soon another day arrived, another meeting took place in the spell casting room. Helping us understand even more about the tower and its students. We talked about the classes, Jhon told a little about his class with Madame Zirya, Zhang shared with the Order his two new free spells and was well rewarded in points. Body refinement was something that even I was interested in. Zaya got some information about the newbies, and Vitarys finally got a hint about the test we would take in a month… It was a dungeon! But that was all we knew for now.
After breakfast, I retraced my steps with Yun Zhe and everything went well in the manticore cage. Soon the classes started again. And today they were all very good. In the "Ritual and Sacrificial Magic" class, I finally learned the basics of how to perform and create rituals and sacrifices. What we were taught in this class would be considered forbidden in many places, but in Asshai, everything was allowed. I finally understood how to create soul stones after sacrificing animals or humans, and the method was as simple as the ritual to duplicate books using blood; all we needed was practice to draw the runes. In the next class, the teacher would teach us how to create a barrier in a place with few entrances and exits using soul stones as an energy source through a ritual. This would always guarantee a safe place even when we were in the wild, especially in the wilds of the Shadow Land.
After that we had the Prophetic Magic class, and this one completely shocked me again, the class was divided into 2 parts. In the first one we learned how to read your own fortune using at least 9 different methods. This was something that required luck, strength of soul and a lot of practice. But I wasn't very interested in this kind of magic. What really interested me and had everyone talking about the whole week was the second part of this class...
