"Alexander, are they ready?" Virgil asked walking into the lab

"Yes, they are waiting in the operation room. You are still yet to tell me what you are planning?" Alexander said

"I plan to infuse them with a mana core. An S-rank mana core to be specific," Virgil replied 

"Okay but what does that mean for them? They are my soldiers, so I want to know what they will go through," Alexander said standing in front of Virgil

"...Alright I understand. You have already seen the damage an F-rank core can do. The S-rank core will allow them to use enchantments on the suits. It will also make it so that the suits and their weapons can only be used by them. This operation will also increase their life span by at least three times. It will make them Ultramarine the greatest killing machines after the grey Knights and the Adeptus Custodes," Virgil replied with a grin

"grey knights? Adeptus Custodes? what are those?" Alexander asked 

"A future project, sadly you won't have to worry about that for a while," Virgil said with a sigh

"Can this process kill them?" Alexander asked with a serious expression

"... Yes there is a chance like any operation. But with my flames and the precautions I have taken they should be a minimum risk," Virgil replied placing a reassuring hand on Alexnders shoulder

Virgil made his way to the operation room and found the four sitting on chairs waiting.

"Finally I thought you would never show up," Krista said with a bored look on her face

"My apologies something I had to deal with but we will get started. If you would please go to the operation tables," Virgil said pointing at four tables

"Tell me what you will be doing to us," Damian asked

"I will be replacing your hearts with this," Virgil said waking out an S-rank mana core

"Wait you're replacing our hearts with a fucking glowing rock?" Dante asked confused

"Yes. Well that and a few other things," Virgil said taking out four metal cases from his inventory

"Let's just get started instead of sitting here wasting time," Grayson said moving to his table and lying down

"That's what I like to hear. But before we start understand that you will be awake during this process. My flames and the mana cores will heal you but it will still be extremely painful," Virgil explained

"That's fine. We are used to pain," Damian replied lying on his table

As everyone lay on their table Virgil began strapping them down with mana ropes. Then he created a multi-layered barrier around the operation area. Walking up to each of them he placed a mana core, each unique to an elemental beast on their chest

"I will start if there is anyone not ready speak now," Virgil said standing before the four

"Come on let's get started I can't wait," Dante laughed

"Very well," Virgil replied

The next moment Virgils eyes when from blue to completely filled with a bright white light. At the same time, each mana core began to float over the chest of each member.

Holding both his hands out he spoke a few words in Latin. As he did magic circles and markings began engraving themselves into the mana cores.

Slowly the cores began to float down to the heart of each member. Once it made contact with their skin all four began screaming in excruciating pain. All four of them began fighting against the restains but were unable to break through. 

As the mana cores dug into their skin blood started pooling from their chest and mouths. Seeing that Virgil covered them in his flames and their pain lowered slightly. As the mana core entered their chest their hearts began burning away. The pain caused the four to turn their heads and fight the restraints like wild animals.

While the cores began merging with their hearts Virgil summoned four daggers each dagger matching the element of their cores. Moving to each person the daggers began engraving mana circles and runes into their body. 

"What is your Duty?"

"To serve the Emperor's Will!"

"What is the Emperor's Will?"

"That we fight and die!

As Virgil asked these questions each member replied in unison as the daggers engraved them on their bodies.

Once the daggers were finished the mana core hand completed replacing each member's heart. At the same time, each metal chest opened and the body parts of monsters levitated from each box.

The scales of a dragon, the heart of an orge, the eyes of a harper, the tendons of a giant. With the help of just daggers, Virgil began ripping apart the bodies of each member making them stronger, sturdier, faster, and better in every way.

Once he was done his flames and the magic engraved into the cores began healing their bodies at an incredible rate.

"Ha...Okay...I'm finally finished," Virgil said wiping sweat from his head and falling to the floor

Getting rid of his barrier Alexander and Alucard quickly rushed into the room. 

"Virgil, what the hell was that? What did you do to my people?!" Alexander yelled

"Yes you combined them with the parts of monsters,' Alucard added

"Yeah... I need to remove the limitations they would have as humans and monsters. I gave Dante the dragon scales so he could charge into battle without fear of damaging his body. Krista received the heart of an orge so her body would heal faster than it could be damaged in the sun. Grayson has the eyes of a Harpee so his skill with long-range combat will be increased so that the darkness with not affect him. Lastly, Damian has the tendons of a giant so his physical combat will be increased when he uses his melee weapons," Virgil explained while standing up

"I see looks like you did read my reports of them. But why didn't you tell me or them they would no longer be human," Alexander asked

"Because they stopped being human they monet they agreed. They became a killing machine the moment they went with the surgery," Virgil replied

"Virgil, why aren't they waking up?" Alucard asked while looking at the four

"Thie bodies and mind will need time to recover. They should awake in a few hours. But for now, I have things I must attend to. Alexander, I understand your anger but you must also understand what it is we plan to fight against. Humans won't cut it in the fight," Virgil said leaving the operation room
