Chapter 225: Divine intervention {133}
As Aaron lay in bed, about to move, he felt Miyuki pull him closer, her body trembling slightly against his. He blinked in surprise. Oh, she's scared, he realized, feeling her tighten her grip. She snuggled herself deeper into his embrace, seeking warmth and comfort, burying her face into his chest.
He was stunned for a bit, he didnt think Gifu's release of power could have scared her so badly.
However, he wouldn't let go.
Aaron silently held her, feeling the weight of the moment. "This isn't like her," he thought. The cold and aloof princess, always so composed and untouchable, was letting her guard down. He could feel her vulnerability, her silent fear, and he wasn't sure what had triggered it—but he knew he'd protect her.
They stayed like that for a while, the world outside quiet, but Aaron's mind couldn't relax. His senses were on high alert. As he held Miyuki, a sudden flash lit up his vision. A screen appeared in front of him, flickering into existence with a chilling scene.
On the screen, he saw Gifu—the malevolent force he knew all too well—hovering over a city in Japan. A grin spread across Gifu's face, sick with amusement.
"You had your fun," Gifu's voice echoed through the screen, his tone like a predator playing with its prey. "Now, my little anomaly friend, how about we end this with a finale?"
Aaron watched the scene with an apathetic look on his face, he truly felt nothing against the being right now.
Gifu raised a hand, and without hesitation, he decimated the city below. The devastation was absolute—tens of thousands of people gone in an instant. Buildings crumbled, fires erupted, and the air was filled with screams that fell silent all too quickly.
Aaron felt nothing, matter of fact he was more focused on the fact that instead of sensing it, he could now see Gifu's power.
He could now see the feint lying highlighted each victim as Gifu's power utterly destroyed them.
"And if you've forgotten what's at stake," Gifu's grin widened, "If you do not show up... I will raze this planet to the ground. Come... entertain me." After his parting words, the space before Aaron rippled, a dark portal forming out of thin air, swirling with Gifu's twisted energy. It was an invitation—and a threat.
However, Gifu wasn't the important thing right now, nor the fact that around 20k or more people just lost their lives because Gifu was bored.
What was currently Aaron's top priority was this princess sleeping on his chest.
Her skin was cold as to be expected but he could semi-ignore it, his body had somewhat adapted to her cold body temperature...
Well, his body had to adapt to her super cold temperature unless he wanted his snake to fall off due to frostbite, however thinking of him and what kind of person he was, he would still probably risk it.
For...reasons.
He patted the girl's hair as his grip on him loosened....he sighed just a bit, as long as she was not worried he was okay.
Pov change
In George's dream, the world felt warm and safe, a place untouched by the chaos of his waking life. He was a kid again, playing with his dad in the backyard. The sun was bright, the grass beneath his feet soft and green. His father's laughter echoed in the air, and everything felt... perfect.
They were tossing a ball back and forth, George feeling the carefree joy that came with childhood, a time when things were simpler. His father's strong, reassuring presence was a constant, his love and guidance shaping every moment. George couldn't help but smile.
But then, as it often happens in dreams, reality began to warp.
The backyard began to twist and stretch, the once-vibrant colors darkening and distorting. The sun dimmed, and an eerie fog rolled in, swallowing the sky. George's father flickered for a moment and then disappeared entirely. The ball they had been tossing fell to the ground and rolled away, leaving George standing alone in the mist.
A strange buzzing filled his ears, and George's surroundings shifted. He now found himself standing before a large screen—grainy, like an old CRT monitor. Akaishi walked by him holding what seemed to be a USB port.
George watched as Akaishi plugged the USB port into the TV
Akaishi was uploading a video. George's heart sank as he recognized the footage.
It was from a time not too long ago when Yami had taken control of Aaron's body. That violent, terrifying side of Aaron.
It seemed like Akaishi was trying to do any damage he could do if he couldn't defeat the man then he would just utterly tarnish his reputation in the eyes of the normal person
While George witnessed this, he let out a sigh.
In the end, this wasn't good and should be stopped but on the other hand, Aaron did not seem like the kind of person to care about what random people thought of him.
George however knew that humans were social creatures so even if he seemed like he didn't care, on some level, this would affect him.
He had helped them enough, he would help him this time.
Meanwhile
In the corner of his eyes, a being of what seemed to be made out of pure energy could be seen smiling a bit, his golden hair flowed in the wind in such a way that it looked heavenly, and his face seemed to be blurred by some kind of divine light as if a human were to see it they wouldn't be able to comprehend what they were seeing.
This man looked exactly like the being that had gifted the anomaly its power.
The being's gaze went toward a portal as the space around them began to shake...George was waking up.
It was time he left before he was noticed.
He wonders what Aaron would do with the gift given to him....as long as he manages to the power given to him right, everything should be fine.
Divine Genesis
No matter what water-down version of it, it may be...it was still the power wielded by 'them', The being sighed a bit.
The being then floated to the portal leaving George subsconscious just as the man awoke.
