The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 793: Divine General of Changle

Last time, when Deng Yin and the Princess of Stone God secluded themselves to cultivate the "Blood Buddha Scripture", Ji Nan launched the Green Sun Pillar, catching Jiulei God and others off guard. This time, they planned their countermeasures before coming, and although Deng Yin himself hasn't appeared yet, he first used the "Blood Buddha Redemption Net" to initiate the Ten Thousand Buddha Dharma Seal, intending to first imprison Ji Nan's Primordial Spirit.

Ji Nan, possessing formidable Mana, swiftly devised a method to break the seal. However, although his Nine Heavens Seal Soul Capturing Technique shattered those Blood Buddha Dharma Seals, it also fragmented his own Primordial Spirit, causing significant loss of Primordial Qi when reforming his body.

Red Corpse God Monarch, Jiulei God, Sand Child, and Red Lotus Demon simultaneously cast their spells, maneuvering the blood-soaked net of myriad Buddhas downwards from four directions, aiming to enshroud Taishan.

They no longer contemplated blood refining Kunlun; instead, they aimed to directly blood refine Taishan!

The Giant Wood God wielded his sleeves, first unleashing a vast array of bean-sized azure lights that rapidly expanded in the air, transforming into Eastern Nine Qi Green Wood Divine Thunder, numbering tens of thousands at least, and fired them upwards at the blood net, intertwining with those blood-colored lightning, causing azure splinters and bloodlight bursts.

Simultaneously, he cast a spell to rapidly grow thirty-six thousand pre-ritually cultivated giant trees on Taishan.

Pine, cypress, poplar, willow, peach... various trees all rapidly grew taller, reaching hundreds and thousands of zhang in height, their enormous verdant canopies protecting all of Taishan, propping the blood net outside.

Although the blood net became riddled with holes from the explosions of the Green Wood Divine Thunder, Deng Yin, clandestinely manipulating it, soon restored it with the surging blood energy from the Blood Lake as his foundation.

The colossal blood net draped over the giant trees, each bearing the Eastern Nine Qi Divine Talisman, shimmering with extraordinary azure light, effectively forcing the blood net aloft, preventing it from descending further.

Deng Yin promptly altered his offensive strategy, causing the blood net to disintegrate, with the blood-colored electric snakes comprising it breaking away individually, flowing down the thirty thousand giant trees, infiltrating the canopies, and crawling down the branches and trunks to the ground.

The blood Buddhas sat individually atop each towering giant tree, their expressions peculiar and bodies drenched in blood, chanting their Buddha names. With each recitation, they spewed a burst of bloodlight from their mouths, which scattered in flight, forming a mist of blood between the giant trees...

The Giant Wood God, essentially alone against five opponents, although steadily retreating and disadvantaged, remained composed.

He already sent out Flying Talismans to summon the Emei, Wudang, and Kunlun Sword Immortals for Demon Suppression, anticipating their swift arrival.

He also calculated that the Princess of Stone God was advancing along the Earth Veins towards the heart of Taishan from underground, and had already dispatched Lu Yu to intercept her.

Ji Nan was about to make a move again when the Giant Wood God instructed him to quickly set up the altar and arrange the Qinghua Divine Altar, as he planned to invoke deities from the Changle World.

Deng Yin, realizing his intent, advanced at a relentless pace, encircling countless electric snakes around each towering giant tree. With a synchronized soft chant, the four demons triggered a series of explosions among the snakes, pulverizing all thirty-six thousand giant trees!

The blood Buddhas chanted their Buddha names in unison, their bodies emitting a brightness cloud.

While ordinary Buddhas release clouds of Wisdom Brightness and Compassion Brightness, primarily of golden light,

these blood Buddhas also exuded brightness clouds, but they were Anger Brightness Clouds, Sorrow Brightness Clouds, Disaster Brightness Clouds, and Rotten Brightness Clouds... all predominantly red.

The layers of blood-colored brightness clouds, filled with myriad Demon Light symbols and teeming with negative emotions, rapidly enveloped all of Taishan's summit.

Under such a powerful assault, the Giant Wood God seemed only capable of defending, unable to counterattack, with the Nine Qi Divine Talisman and Shaoyang Divine Light protecting only a small portion of the mountain peak.

Fortunately, Ji Nan, along with a group of immortals, quickly established the Qinghua Divine Altar.

This Qinghua Divine Altar had been long constructed, previously used to invite Heavenly Gods from the Changle World in smaller-scale trials focused mainly on experimentation.

Now, with Ji Nan placing each flag and command arrow properly, he ascended the altar to perform the rites, first securing the heavens and earth, purifying the altar and himself, completing the preliminary tasks, and then inviting the Giant Wood God onto the altar for the ritual.

The Giant Wood God ascended the altar, spewing golden light and chanting secret spells. With a gesture, eighty-one azure flags around the Dharma Platform began to flutter, as a fierce wind rose atop Taishan, with surging azure energy streaming from the east to confront the blood-colored brightness cloud above. The two forces clashed, yet undecided, when divine thunder began to appear again.

The Eastern Jia Yi Wood, with Jia Wood resonating with violent thunder, Yimu responding to surging wind, the thunder was the Qiantian Taiyin Divine Thunder condensed by the Eastern Nine Qi, and the wind was the Sanmei Divine Wind formed by the Southeastern Vitality!

In no time, winds surged, clouds billowed, and thunder and lightning roared.

This Taiyin Divine Thunder differed from that refined by the Emei and Qingcheng Sects.

The divine thunder of Emei and Qingcheng was Qiantian Taiyin Divine Thunder, originating from the Northwest, derived from the "Nine Heavens Mysterious Scripture", belonging to the Heavenly system. As the Northwest Qiantian corresponds to metal, cultivators needed to internally cultivate True Gold Great Medicine to activate it, resulting in golden thunderlight.

The thunder summoned by the Giant Wood God belongs to the Green Emperor System, originating from the east, its nature is wood. Once activated, wind and thunder come simultaneously, presenting another scene.

A massive amount of green thunder descends from the eastern sky, crackling as thousands of bolts simultaneously strike the blood-red Bright Cloud, piercing through thousands of feet of demonic light, leaving holes of various sizes!

The frenzied roar follows, wildly blowing the demonic light, creating the sound of blades scraping across metal, intent on shredding the blood-red light.

This wind and thunder is just the prelude; before the gods are summoned, the protector must first arrive at the altar.

Eighty-one cyan flags shoot upward, rising to over a thousand feet in an instant, forming eighty-one flag gates, connecting together, creating a gigantic formation. Myriad streams of green light surge upwards, even this dense and terrifying blood-red Bright Cloud cannot suppress it.

On each side of the altar is a Green Dragon Banner, the banner faces fluttering, green qi emerges, linking with the external wind and thunder.

"Crack!" With a thunderous sound, the two protector gods of wind and thunder have already arrived before the altar, accompanied by Taiyin Divine Thunder and Sanmei Divine Wind. They are two warriors clad in Green Dragon armor, holding the Taiyin Divine Thunder Cone and the Sanmei Divine Wind Bag respectively.

Since the Giant Wood God does not have a clergy, only two protector gods were summoned; upon arrival, they ascended into the sky, and started firing magical treasures at the blood-red Bright Cloud.

Then, Qingxuan, Yellow Talisman Child, Green Light Jade Girl, Great General Sky Bird, and White Wood Spirit Official, along with other heavenly gods from the Changle World, appeared on the divine altar one by one.

They were enveloped in green light, holding divine artifacts, their bodies either sparked with green thunder or blazed with green flames.

If the Giant Wood God held divine office, he could command them through a token; they would need to assemble at the altar for orders. But since he did not, they were here purely out of personal favor, thus they all inquired of the Emperor's son what was to be done.

The Giant Wood God assigned tasks to each of them, instructing them to go and battle Jiulei God Monarch, Sand God Child, and others.

The two sides engaged in a chaotic battle; these divine generals are heavenly gods from Changle World, entirely private troops of the Green Emperor.

The Green Emperor is under Miao Yan Palace, which still operates under the Heavenly God's system, and is considered his retinue; the heavenly gods of Changle World are equivalent to his family soldiers.

The Giant Wood God dares not, nor can he mobilize the heavenly gods of Miao Yan Palace, so he had to resort to calling these.

The Immortal Realm is rather strict, anyone able to ascend there must have great merit, like "filial piety moving Heaven," or possess high cultivation—at least similar to Lu Rongbo. After ascending, they obtain the Heaven Talisman, continuing cultivation within the heavenly ground. But those at the lowest level usually engage in clerical tasks or undertake rough jobs like Heavenly Soldiers; they're rarely used in battle, even when deployed like the Thunder Department, they are carefully chosen, adept and battle-savvy.

Any divine general capable of leading troops into battle, at a minimum, has cultivated to the level of Yang God, a Celestial Immortal.

The entry threshold for Changle World is exceedingly low; Taiyin Heavenly Venerate, who answers calls of distress, allows all humans, gods, demons, and ghosts to enter, further dividing it into heavenly and human realms. The boundaries between these two realms are not terribly distinct; often, there are divine immortals marrying mortals, producing half-human half-god offspring, who would intermarry again...

Though essentially the same, both humans and divine immortals have differences only in their primordial spirit blood and other aspects. Offspring born from such marriages lie between human and immortal.

However, these "second-generation gods" and "second-generation immortals," due to being born with better inherent wisdom and connections compared to ordinary humans, possess celestial affinity from birth that many mortals cannot obtain through multiple lifetimes of cultivation. They have access to the Mysterious Sect's secret technique long before birth, thanks to their parents and elders. Consequently, their cultivation progresses rapidly in Changle World, void of many disasters and challenges, but their mental tempering often falls short.

For instance, one might normally maintain inner peace, yet become unsettled upon being insulted.

Some can remain calm when insulted but lose composure when illness brings pain and irritation.

Some maintain peace while ill, yet falter upon seeing attractive men and women.

Regardless of previous encounters in life, they might meet with peace, but prior to death, they once again become disturbed.

In Changle World, they can achieve a complete state in body and mind, with shape and spirit both marvelous, attesting to the position of Celestial Immortal. Yet compared to ordinary individuals who cultivate through nine lives to achieve Celestial Immortal status, though essentially both are heavenly immortals, there is disparity in skill level solely in terms of depth and height. The most evident example being the Giant Wood God himself, who claims to have wandered the heavens, demoted to the lower realm enduring hardship... eventually achieving Golden Immortal rank.

But in truth, his celestial path offered unfathomable advantages over others!

Thus, despite also being a Golden Immortal, his heart and nature fall short compared to many Celestial Immortals.

In Daoist dual cultivation of life and nature, the nature skill determines the upper limit, life skill determines the lower limit; his attainable height in nature is limited, resulting in considerable disparity in technique divine power compared to other Golden Immortals.

The same celestial immortals from Changle World are significantly inferior to those Shi Feiyang encountered in the Spiritual Space Immortal Realm.
