The Alpha's Secret Omega

Chapter 16: Breaking Point

Lyra's POV

As soon as we arrived at the pack house, I barely had a chance to step out of the car before Kael grabbed me by the arm. His grip was firm, not enough to hurt, but enough to show he wasn't in the mood for arguments.

"Kael—" I started, but he cut me off with a glare that froze the words in my throat.

"Not now," he growled, his voice low and dangerous.

He dragged me through the main villa, his strides purposeful, his grip unrelenting. My heart pounded in my chest as he led me to his office.

When we arrived, he opened the door and practically shoved me inside a smaller room connected to the main office. "Stay here," he ordered, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.

Before I could protest, he turned and stepped out of the office, leaving the door to the small room slightly ajar. Just enough for me to hear what was going on outside.

I stood there, my heart racing, torn between obeying his command and pushing the door open to follow him. The space was small and sparsely furnished—a chair, a small desk, and nothing else to distract me from the sound of my own pounding heartbeat.

Why did he bring me here? What was so important that he couldn't say it directly?

I shifted uncomfortably, straining to hear anything beyond the faint creak of the floorboards in the office. My wolf stirred restlessly inside me, its unease mirroring my own.

Whatever Kael was up to, I had a sinking feeling it wasn't good.

My heartbeat thundered in my ears as I stood frozen in the small room, unable to move even if I wanted to. The faint creak of the office door opening sent shivers down my spine.

Kael's voice, low and familiar, reached me first. Then came hers–Selena's unmistakable, sultry tone.

They entered the office, their movements hurried and desperate, like they couldn't wait to devour each other. Their mouths were in each other's, their hands roaming every part of their bodies as they kissed passionately.

I didn't want to watch. I didn't want to hear. But I couldn't look away.

Kael's hands were rough, tugging Selena's clothes off with urgency. He bent her over the desk, his words low but clear enough for me to hear.

"Don't talk. Just stay quiet and don't ruin the moment."

Selena giggled, complying eagerly. "Yes, baby."

A sharp pain lanced through my chest as I watched him position himself behind her, before ramming into her without any prior warning. His movements were unrelenting, devoid of tenderness. He thrust into her without hesitation, the sound of their skin slapping each other and Selena's cries of pleasure filling the room.

My stomach churned. Hope snarled. My feet felt rooted to the floor, as if they refused to let me escape this nightmare.

I wanted to close my eyes, to turn away, to flee. But I stood there, paralyzed, watching as Kael claimed Selena over and over.

Her moans echoed like daggers to my heart. "Yes, Daddy. I love it! I love you!"

Anger, hurt, and something I couldn't quite name burned through me. Kael's pace quickened, his growls growing louder until he finally reached his peak, spilling himself on her ass with a groan.

Selena turned to him, a satisfied smile on her lips as she cleaned herself up. "That was amazing. What's the occasion?" she asked, her tone light and playful.

Kael didn't reply to her. Instead, his voice filled my head through the pack's mind link, his tone dark and taunting.

"How did that feel, Lyra? Did you enjoy the show? How do you feel about having her scent all over me huh?"

My breath hitched. I wanted to block him out, to pretend I hadn't heard him, but his next words struck me like a whip.

"Next time, think about the consequences before letting anyone lay their fucking hands on you."

Tears burned the corners of my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. Kael's footsteps faded as he left the office, Selena trailing after him with a satisfied smirk.

I collapsed onto the floor, my heart pounding in my chest. Pain, anger, and humiliation swirled inside me, threatening to consume me whole.

Why did it hurt so much?

I didn't want to shift. I didn't even want to think. I just needed air.

The path to the woods was quiet until I spotted a figure sauntering toward me. Freya.

Her sharp gaze raked over me, and I could feel her sneer before it even appeared on her lips. She stopped a few feet away, her arms crossed and her head tilted, like she was appraising me.

"Well, well, well," she began, her voice dripping with disdain. "If it isn't the little Omega who somehow climbed her way into the main villa."

I ignored her and kept walking, but Freya stepped into my path, her presence radiating irritation.

"How did you do it, huh?" she pressed, her eyes narrowing. "Did you bat those pitiful eyes at the Alpha and beg him to take you in? Or did you actually manage to bewitch him?"

I stopped, clenching my fists at my sides. Hope stirred, low and restless, but I held her back.

Freya took my silence as permission to continue. "Honestly, I don't know how the Luna could let someone like you near her Alpha. Do you think you're special? Do you think you belong there?"

I turned my head, meeting her gaze, but said nothing.

"Oh, don't look at me like that," she hissed, stepping closer. "You're pathetic. You've only been here a short while, and you're already in the main villa. Meanwhile, the rest of us, actual wolves, are still stuck in the servant's quarters."

I saw it then—the jealousy behind her words, the envy lacing her tone. But I wasn't in the mood to feel sorry for her.

Freya's lips twisted into a sneer, and she jabbed a finger into my shoulder. "You're not special, Lyra. You're nothing but a weak little girl pretending to—"

"Enough."

The word escaped my lips before I could stop it, low and sharp. Freya froze, blinking in surprise, before she quickly recovered.

"Excuse me?" she said, her voice rising.

"I said enough," I repeated, stepping closer to her. My voice was steady now, and I could feel the anger bubbling beneath my skin. "I'm not in the mood for your nonsense today, Freya."

She scoffed, but I could see the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes.

"Or what?" she challenged, though her tone wavered. "What are you going to do? You're just a weak Omega with no wolf to protect her—"

My hand shot out, grabbing her wrist before she could poke me again. The movement was instinctive. Freya gasped, her arrogance crumbling as she struggled against me.

I leaned in closer, my voice low and calm. "If you value your pride, Freya, I suggest you stay out of my way."

Freya's laugh was sharp and bitter as she stepped closer. "Stay out of your way? You must be delusional."

Before I could process her words, she shoved me hard, and I stumbled back, my balance barely holding. Hope snarled in my head, urging me to act.

That was it.

The anger that had been simmering inside me—because of Kael, because of Kellan, because of this entire day—boiled over. Without a second thought, my hand swung up and connected with her cheek in a resounding slap.

Freya gasped, her hand flying to her face as she stumbled back, her eyes wide with shock. The sharp sound of the slap seemed to echo in the air between us.

"Don't you dare touch me again," I said, my voice shaking with fury.

Freya blinked, her expression caught somewhere between rage and disbelief. Her lips parted as if she was going to say something, but no words came out.

For a moment, we just stood there, staring at each other, the tension thick enough to choke on. My breathing was heavy, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, but I refused to look away.

Freya finally recovered, her mouth twisting into a furious snarl. "You'll regret that," she spat, her voice low and venomous.

"Try me," I shot back, my wolf rising to the surface, giving my words an edge of authority that surprised even me.

Freya hesitated, her eyes narrowing as if she was trying to decide whether to push her luck further. But after a tense pause, she huffed, turned on her heel, and stormed off, muttering under her breath.

I watched her go, my chest heaving as I tried to calm the storm inside me.

When she disappeared from view, I exhaled shakily, my hand still tingling from the force of the slap. Hope was pleased but I couldn't shake the unease settling over me.

I turned back to the woods, needing the solitude now more than ever.
