The Alpha’s Redemption

Chapter 3: THE WEDDING

"Sybil. You look so beautiful." My Father said as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

He was looking at my white wedding dress. "Your mother would be so proud of you."

My stomach made a knot when he mentioned mother.

"What are you doing here? You should be getting ready." He said.

I shook my head. "Dad, this is a mistake. Ryan rejected me. I don't want to marry him. I don't love him anymore."

"Sybil, this is for the best." He said. "You're going to look back on this and be grateful that I made this decision for you."

"No Dad! Don't you get it?! Ryan cheated on me! He rejected me! And today I am getting married to him? Over my mother's grave will I do it!" I said in frustration.

"Don't! Don't you dare involve your mother in this!" He warned me. "You do not have a say in this matter. You ran away three years ago and came back with no memories. Do you know what the other high-ranking wolves say about us? No one wants you. No one! But Ryan and his family came up to ask for your hand in marriage. You should be grateful!"

My mouth dropped, shocked at his words.

He realized what he had said, only to sigh. "Sybil, there is no going back on this decision. You are getting married today. Just like you always wanted."

"I'm not that little girl anymore," I complained.

Every she-wolf dreamt of the day her mate would sweep her off her feet and say the wolf vows in front of her family and friends and declare her his for life.

But I, Sybil Auclair, is this close to running away from my pack on my very own wedding day.

I'm getting married to Ryan Towers, the future Alpha of the Blue Sea pack.

Top three of the founding twelve packs.

He was the dream mate of every she-wolf my age. He was handsome, intelligent, and charming.

Did I also mention the fact that he was my mate?

It sounds confusing, I know.

Ryan and I had always been an item since we were teenagers and when I clocked eighteen and it was time for me to shift, it was a disaster.

I shifted into a crippled wolf. My wolf's foreleg were bent and broken. The hind legs were equally as bad; only one leg was normal.

I could not run well and I was ugly.

It was an abomination. If I was an unshifted wolf it would have been better.

Ryan, who had promised to be with me forever, rejected me right after I caught him sleeping with another she-wolf, my best friend.

Heartbroken and distraught I ran away from the pack.

The only thing I can remember after that was staggering up to our pack grounds and passing out.

When I came to, I discovered that I had been missing for three whole years.

There was a gap from the moment I ran away from our pack and when I returned.

I was now twenty and I had zero memory of what had happened.

After a few months, my father told me that Ryan wanted to marry me.

I wasn't allowed to say anything. Not until today, as I stand here in a wedding dress outside my father's door.

Before I could protest further, Ryan came up to us.

He was in a formal suit and smelled like overwhelming musky cologne.

Three years ago, I would have thought he smelled like heaven.

Now I was just overwhelmed and in disgust.

"Sybil." He said gazing at me all over like a hungry wolf. "You look….. beautiful."
