The Alpha's Forsaken Feisty Mate

Chapter 2: Give me a divorce

"Four years of waiting, and this is what I am to him—nothing," Melissa chuckled in fury and her fists tightened. "How could she be his fated mate? Why did he betray me? How could he bring another woman in this mansion when we are still married to each other?"

While murmuring all these words to herself, she headed to the chamber, where Radulf was. Her life was on the line. She couldn't let another woman be with Radulf, not until she was alive.

Upon reaching the chamber, Melissa saw the servants help Radulf in removing the cloak and the armor on his body.

The servants withdrew as Melissa ordered them and the doors closed behind them.

Radulf removed the buttons of his shirt while staring at her. "I would like to rest," he said.

"Why didn't you ever answer my letters?" Melissa asked.

"Letters? Did you even send me one?" Radulf asked with a restraining anger in his voice.

"I sent you 1056 letters in these four years. Every second day I sent you a message to know how you were doing. And you betrayed me like this. You brought a woman when your wife is alive," Melissa's eyes burned with fury as she demanded an answer from him.

A wry laugh escaped Radulf's mouth. "I can't believe my wife is such a good liar. You don't need to hide how you wanted me dead on that battlefield," he remarked. "And don't even talk about betrayal. It's in your blood to betray the others. Stop being jealous of others. Now, you should leave because I need to rest," Radulf stated.

"Radulf, I'm not as heartless as you were to me. You forgot my very existence. Every single day I have looked for your return. Do you even know in what condition you left me here?" Melissa's anger rose as she took another step toward him.

"You could have run away from the marriage then. It's not like the Alpha King would have killed you. Because of your father, I have suffered a lot," Radulf said, his voice raising as if his wolf was growing at her. His emerald green orbs blazed with anger as he took a step toward her this time.

Melissa couldn't believe how easily Radulf said those words to her. Running away? And getting spared from the Alpha King? Those were two impossible things for her.

"Give me a divorce then. If you find me this bothersome, then let's end this marriage here," Melissa said, her voice quivering.

She didn't wish to say it loudly, but she felt there was no way out. Her entire childhood and teenage years were spent in suffering inside the cold palace. The slight expectations she had from her husband ended already. She knew if she would ask for this, her father would not let her live. However, she didn't want a marriage, where she had to witness her husband's affair.

She stumbled as Radulf approached her with his alpha speed and fiercely grabbed her by the throat. His nose almost touched hers and she could feel his gaze boring holes in her eyes already. However, his hold wasn't too tight on her throat.

"I am not divorcing you. You will suffer in this marriage until the very end. That's the price you will pay to be my wife," Radulf announced his decision.

Melissa tried to push him away, but her strength was negligible in front of him. "Dream on. I won't ever let you be in an affair with another woman if I'll stay as your wife. You are forgetting, Alpha Radulf, you haven't marked me, so you can't own me completely," she stated.

"Then, do you want to get marked by me?" Radulf asked, tilting her neck. He pressed his thumb on a pulsating nerve while still holding her by the throat. She was on her toes, but he didn't care about his comfort.

Melissa wanted that since the day of her marriage. She always wanted to feel belonged to her mate, but now, she didn't wish to. She would be forever bound to a man, who was ready to have an affair while keeping her around.

"I get your answer. But Melissa, you know, I am a dominant alpha. I don't need to mark you to control you. Do you want to see?" Radulf asked, his expression still remained cold but there was a smirk of victory as if he was glad that he could control Melissa.

Melissa had completely forgotten that Radulf was the strongest Alpha in the Kingdom.

She looked into his eyes, which shone and her body shook. He had released his grip on her throat and he spoke, "Melissa, your alpha commands you to leave this room!"

Melissa had no control over her body as it automatically followed the command from the Alpha. She moved to the door and opened it before walking out. As she stepped out, she got out of the trance of Radulf's magical ability of being a dominant alpha.

She went ahead, trying to gather her thoughts. Melissa's hearing instincts kicked in as she again heard the gossip.

I heard that the woman whom our alpha has brought is the Alpha's daughter. She will be a good Luna for us. They say she's his fated mate. That's the reason why our current Luna never got marked by Alpha Radulf.

Melissa's blood boiled to hear that, but she shut her ears. She didn't wish to hear those harsh words. What she hadn't done for this pack? Despite that none of them truly acknowledged her as their Luna. Why? Because she was an omega and illegitimate

daughter of the Alpha King.

"I heard you are the Luna of Shadow Hunter Pack and wife of Alpha Radulf. I am Nina Harbinger," the woman introduced himself, whom Radulf had brought.

"Did your pack not teach you not to eye a married man?" Melissa asked, dropping the introduction.

Nina chuckled as she laughed. "Pardon me? A marriage of convenience you should say, Melissa. How long are you going to stay here? I don't think more than a week because I'll make sure Radulf takes me as his woman and his Luna!" Nina challenged her before walking away.

Melissa's eyes widened and she realized, 'Radulf has not marked Nina. What if they aren't fated mates? What if it's all a rumor to break us apart?'
