The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 409- Three Devil Brothers (2)

It should be impossible for the Organisation to get inside the underground vault of the royal palace without getting found. After all, only two people are allowed to go inside from this point on: the King and the Queen.

If others tried to break in, they would trigger the defensive mechanism and find themselves surrounded by the royal guards within a couple of seconds.

"We can only guess at this point. However, it is highly likely the work of the organisation. That said, what we should worry about more is how to control the leaking demonic energy from the Abyssal Compass." Marquish Herman remarked, his eyes grim.

Right now, the contamination has stopped due to the sudden appearance of these bioluminescent fungi and mushrooms. However, the demonic energy inside the vault was nothing like the one leaking outside.

If they could not suppress it, then it would cause chaos in the city on the surface.

"By the way, Reinhardt, explain this sudden germination of fungi everywhere. This should be your doing, right?"

The fungi had appeared everywhere just before the arrival of the Order of the Temple of Light. As such, it was obvious that this was the doing of the other party.

"About the proliferation of the demonic energy, let me handle it. I have the perfect counter against that."

Reinhardt grinned, his eyes shifting toward the distance where the squires were protecting the Bloomkeeper.

"Very well, we'll leave that to you. Let's push through the hordes of demonified knights and get this done with."

At those words, the three commanders nodded and left to lead their own orders. The demonified knights might have numbers, but with three of the seven great commanders joining hands, they soon opened a path to the underground vault.

Weirdly enough, as soon as the knight order reached the doors of the vault, the horde of demonified knights also stopped rushing from inside.

That did not mean they had finished defeating all of their enemies; no, they could still feel the presence of numerous demonified knights inside the dark, abyss like vault, their gurgling cries ominous to the ears.

Beyond this point, visibility was zero. The demonic energy inside was so thick that it looked like dark tendrils of smoke, evil and disturbing. These tendrils tried to extend their influence outside the gates.

However, all their attempts were foiled by the luminous fungi and protists that quickly cleansed this malevolent energy.

Taking this chance while the enemy was not rushing at them, the knights caught their breath and restored their stamina.

Before the Temple of Light arrived, they had been fighting for an entire day. Needless to say, they were quite exhausted.

Reinhardt glanced at their valiant figures that refused to back down even while facing enemies hundreds of times their number and grinned in satisfaction. That was the essence of a knight, unyielding resolve to never give up in any situation.

These brave knights from both orders deserved his acknowledgment. And so, he rewarded them for their efforts.

[Radiant Renewal] activated with full force, bathing the vast underground chamber in a brilliant dawn of light.

The next second, clusters of light fell from the ceiling, shaping themselves in the form of dandelions and dispersing everywhere.

These dandelions released a warm and pure light; when they fell on top of the knights, all their injuries and exhaustion instantly disappeared, and within a couple of seconds, they were back at their peak strength.

"This!!" Feeling their bodies glow and revert to their original state, the knights of the two orders glanced at each other, then looked at the knight who made it possible.

Reinhardt stood between the other two commanders, his suave and striking features giving him an almost ethereal presence, his charisma setting him apart as a knight among knights.

"That skill of yours is quite useful. You have my thanks."

The man had just healed his knights. Even if he was obstinate and an elitist noble, Marquis Herman knew when to show appreciation.

It was the same for the indifferent beauty who nodded her head in thanks.

Now that the healing of the knights was taken care of, it was time to solve this disturbance.

Reinhardt fixed his attention ahead, toward the path beyond the large open gates of the vault that had turned pitch black.

It was like staring into an abyss.

The Bloomkeeper appeared beside him at that moment.

"If you will."

At those words, the stag nodded, and the next second, a brilliant wave of light burst forth from its antlers as the [Divine Spore Field] expanded forward.

KIEEEE…

A disturbing scream came out from the dark tendrils of smoke inside the vault before being purified by the rapidly spreading luminous fungi and mushrooms.

The demonic energy tried to retaliate. However, the [Divine Spore Field] was being powered by Reinhardt's inexhaustible level of Divine Mana.

Furthermore, the Bloomkeeper's other skills, like [Algal Synthesis], spread luminous algae rapidly across surfaces like a holy infection, forming glowing lines that burned demonic entities like acid.

[Spore Purification Pulse] generated pulses of gentle radiance across the fungal field, weakening demonic entities. All other skills of the holy beast worked in tandem to purify the vault severely contaminated by demonic energy.

It took time to devour that level of malevolence.

Nevertheless, slowly but surely, the room came into view, and at that moment, the breath of all the knights of the three orders stuck in their throats.

Why would it not? After all, the scene in front of them was that of a vast hall filled to the brim with menacing demonified knights.

In their hands were demonic items that many generations of knights of Solaris had given up their lives to snatch away from the hands of demons. Now, those weapons were being wielded by evil once again.

Reinhardt swept his gaze across the legion of demonified knights before focusing on the three figures who stood at an elevated height at the back of the crowd, like kings.

Each of them released a tremendous aura, and their appearance clearly showed they were different from the horde.
