Chapter 339- Preamble To Chaos
"The kingdoms that lost their crown would have to select new ones, and we can all start anew. With no witnesses, nobody would know what happened here, and I can swiftly rise to the throne. Isn't that a great plan? Hahaha".
"You ungrateful bastard. I should have strangled you to death when you were born." The king was so enraged that he called the guards on him.
"Hahaha, there is no point calling for help. The members of my order have already killed them all".
The king's guards were dead?!!
"No need to be so shocked. Father, mother, and everyone here will join them soon".
Right as his words fell, his body disappeared. A sword flashed, and a vast amount of bloodlust, powerful enough to turn the Kings and Queens pale, filled the place.
Cedric was going for the kill straight away, his target, his own parents.
"Next time, do not make the same mistake of not choosing your first born for the throne." The blade drew a curve in the air and arrived before the king's head.
Everything from the appearance of Cedric and him going for the King and Queen of Aetherion happened so fast that even some level 9 knights here hardly had any time to react.
Rienhardt stood in place, his eyes unworried. There was no need for him to step here as the hero for this scene was not him, but rather a knight donned in black armor and raven blue cape.
CRASH… something flew out at an abnormal speed and crashed against the sword, pushing it backwards and saving the life of the King of Aetehrion.
Clatter… Clatter… When Cedric looked at the thing that pushed his sword away, he was shocked. It was a tile, probably from the floor of the meeting hall. After pushing away his sword, the tile was smashed into numerous bits before falling onto the ground. The rubble he saw was precisely that.
"I knew you would get in my way, Vaerion".
With his cape flapping from the dramatic wind that came right for this moment, a knight donned in obsidian black armor stood in front of the King and Queen of Aetherion.
"I can't believe you have fallen so low as to kill your own father and mother," The Dark Knight spoke.
"Tch, spare me the lecture. I don't want to hear anything from your mouth, you thief who stole my place as the rightful heir to the throne".
Reasoning with the man who had thrown his lot with the demons was like banging one's head on a wall. There is no way talks can get through the extreme knight at this point.
"In that case, for raising your arms against the crown of Aetherion, terrorising the world leaders, and for betraying humanity... DIE!!".
BOOM… At that instant, the two knights released their aura, causing the very meeting room to collapse. Reinahrdt hurriedly grabbed the Queen and jumped out. The knights from his order supported the King and followed suit.
The other knights from the various kingdoms did the same.
CLANG… CLANG… BOOM… As if fireworks were going on, the speed at which they clashed swords was so insane that they were practically invisible to even a high ranking knight.
Within a few seconds, half of the royal palace collapsed, and the earth was torn asunder with powerful gales and shockwaves spreading everywhere.
And then it all became silent.
RUMBLE... a stifling sound of thunder followed by the disturbing noise of bones cracking echoed out. A figure shot towards the sky and then fell on the ground with a bang.
When everyone looked closely as to who the person was, with no surprise, they saw Cedric lying on the ground, bloodied and battered. The fight was over before it could even start.
There was no doubt a level 9 extreme knight, incredibly powerful, unimaginably so. They might even be the peak of humanity with powers at the very pinnacle of superhuman powers, touching heroic.
Yes, only if the realm of level 10 did not exist, that is. It was such an insurmountable barrier that forget about just one level 9 extreme knight, even if there were a couple more, they cannot hope to defeat a level 10.
After all, when you reach this level, your stats reach EX (Exceptional). The very peak that there was.
Of course, exceptional people like Reinhardt couldn't be counted. Nevertheless, bridging that gap in stats was next to impossible. Not to mention, there was also the difference of skills, class, techniques, and Transcendent states.
Cedric was never an opponent of Vaerion, who quickly ended the battle before their powers could destroy the city. That's right, it was an absolute and thorough defeat.
Cough… cough… the extreme knight coughed out blood and stared at the swirl in the sky.
"Haha… demons kill all of these people, I don't need them in the kingdom I am building".
The Dark Knight stood at the edges of the crater, his eyes contained regret and a little sadness from seeing a splendid knight like Cedric fall into the temptation of the demons. It would be a great loss for the whole kingdom of Aetherion if they lost such a knight.
Nevertheless, a person who joined hands with the demon cannot be forgiven; Cedric has to die.
Vaerion slowly stepped forward. Just as he took a step, a bright pillar of crimson light shot from the swirl in the sky and targeted this very place.
The latter immediately moved out of the way.
BANG… the very next instant, the light crashed onto the place, creating a gigantic explosion.
Swoosh… Vaerion appeared before his King and Queen.
"Your Majesties, are you alright?"
The king nodded, making a despondent face as if he had just lost dozens of years of his life. The Queen supported him by the side, crying at the cruelty of the situation.
Well, with Kaelith protecting them, he was not worried about their safety; nevertheless, their emotional state was a different thing.
"It looks like the plan has gone a little awry," Reinhardt spoke, coming over with the entourage from Solaris.
