The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 237- The Rageful Vangeance (2)

Of course, in front of the skilled adventurers, they still had to taste defeat, especially now when they were attacking them together.

"Phew, that's done." Alex wiped his sweat and then looked at his guild members who were protecting a young boy, probably around six or seven years old.

"Little guy, are you alright?" he bent down and matched eyes with the boy, smiling kindly and brightly.

"Un, thank you, mister adventurer for helping me. That was awesome how you handled those villainous bandit chiefs." The boy was extremely impressed, and his eyes were shining like stars as if he were looking at his idol whenever he stared at Alex.

"Haha, those bandit chiefs were nothing. If I were serious, I could finish them in one move." The latter flashed a cheesy smile and bragged. Of course, it was all a lie. However, the little guy didn't need to know that.

"Whoa, those evil looking villains were no match for you? You are so powerful. I want to become an adventurer like you when I grow up".

"Haha, I'm sure you can. Also, make sure to report this to your father, how me and our guild saved you, alright?".

The latter nodded.

"You bastard!" At this moment, there was a sudden commotion. Vengeance, who was extremely enraged, walked towards Alex.

However, before he could come much closer, a few of the burly warriors from the Brilliant Sword blocked his path.

"Move or you'll die." The warning was given.

"You!! Do you think we are afraid of you just because you are a knight? Hmph, let me tell you, I have fought with a knight before, they were nothing special," the burly warrior ridiculed.

Slowly, Vangeance's hand went towards his sword.

"Let him come. I want to know what Sir Knight is so dissatisfied about." At this moment, Alex called out to his guild members, telling them to stand back.

With the burly warriors backing down, Vangeance removed his hand from the sword too. Next, he walked towards the adventurer and confronted him.

"You bastard, you told me that the hostage was in the tent. You gave me wrong information on purpose".

Alex's plan was blatantly obvious. He wanted to gain fame by rescuing the noble's son and thus provided him and his team with false information.

"What are you saying? When did I provide you with false information? There are indeed hostages inside that tent. Did you not find those women?" Alex spoke, still feigning ignorance.

He then pointed at the noble boy and spoke, "Those women in that tent are the servants of this young boy. They are crucial hostages, too. Are you saying that you only wanted to save this young man and discard those women who needed the knight's help?"

"You, when did I say anything like that?" Vangeance was already angry as he was, when Aex brought the topic back on those women, he could no longer take it and swung his fist.

At that very moment, before the fist could connect and any incident could occur, Rolan cut in between and took the punch.

Bang… while Vangeance did hold back, his fist contained the rage and frustration from being betrayed, packed within his punch. The poor squire was sent flying back and rolled on the ground.

"Rolan!" At the same instant, the knight came back to his senses and rushed towards his comrade.

"Why did you get in between?"

"Haha, that guy would have at least lost a tooth had you thrown that punch at him," Rolan laughed before picking himself up. Thanks to the rigorous training he endured under Reinhardt every single day, a punch like that wasn't enough to down him.

"No worries, I'm not hurt. But Senior Vangeance, you cannot hurt him, not in front of that child".

"What?" The knight glanced back at the young noble boy who was looking at him as if he was a bad guy. If he went and actually punched Alex right now, he and his knight would forever become villains in the eyes of the young boy.

Rolan explained the situation. The guild master of the Brilliant Sword was extremely cunning. Not only was he good at twisting words that comes out of others, but also acting as the hero.

With those earlier words of his, he put the adventurers in a righteous light and painted the knights in a bad light.

"Now, even if you say or do anything, it would only worsen the situation. His goal was this from the very start".

On the squire's insistence, Vangeance forcibly calmed himself down. "As I thought, I really hate adventurers who only seek fame and profit".

With the situation calming down, Kevin and the rest of the squad, now supporting the traumatised women, arrived from the distance.

"Lulu, Amy… you all… are you alright?" The noble boy ran towards his maids, who were only wearing a thin cloth to cover themselves.

"My lord, it's good to know that you are alright." The maids more concerned about their young lord, hugged him. Some cried and broke down in tears; however, the latter was much too young to know why they were crying.

After a while, Vangeance and his squad prepared to leave.

"Ah, not so fast. Since it was an extremely tough [A] rank mission that wouldn't have been successful if it were any other adventurer's guild, we need to take a picture," Alex spoke.

His guild members were all ready to take a picture. For this occasion, they even purchased a costly relic that is able to capture images, like a camera. However, in this world, its shape was a little different. Nevertheless, its use was the same.

"Make sure you vividly capture our slain fellows," Alex put a foot on the decapitated boy of the bandit thief and posed. His thirty plus guild members also made their own poses.

"Good, now take one with the knights. This will also show everyone that they were able to rescue the noble boy's maids."
