The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 235- The Bandit Hunting Mission (4)

Finally, when Vangeance couldn't take it, the guild master of the Brilliant Sword in the distance clapped his hands and told everyone to pack up and get moving.

And so, their convoy started travelling again.

"This guy is getting on my nerves," Vangeance clicked his tongue tagging behind the Brilliant Sword members who were deliberately riding ahead of them.

"It looks like that guy is doing this deliberately to annoy you."

Just when everyone in the squad was starting to feel uncomfortable travelling with the adventurers, Delicia spoke. All eyes immediately swivelled towards her.

"What do you mean?" Vangeance questioned.

"I meant what I said, that guild leader, did he call himself Alex? He is definitely doing this on purpose," Delicia smiled and explained.

"You showed him up earlier, and he is now taking petty revenge. He might look all friendly and kind from the aura he emits. However, it is always people like him who scheme a lot behind the scenes. Especially if they are in a high position".

Vangeance might be a knight like her, but he was much too young and ignorant about the world. That said, she didn't have the right to comment on that after all, she too learned about it through a tough experience.

"Say what? That guy is going this deliberately? That motherfuckerr!!" Vangeance's ruffian side was starting to surface up, overwhelming his speech and manner. Well, given how angry he was, it was not surprising.

"Don't try to confront him about it, it will only worsen the situation." Delicia stopped him before the knight could do anything rash. "Leave this to me, I have a plan".

Two hours later, Alex who was leading the convoy, smirked. The next second, his face returned to his fake, kind and radiant self.

"All right, everyone let's take a rest here." He clapped his hands and following his orders, his teammates started unpacking again.

"You've got to be kidding me. We are almost at our destination" Vangeance roared out. He pointed at the distant cliffside of this vast mountainous jungle. There at the base, anyone could see the human activity.

Campfires burning, wooden fences, leather tents, watcher tower and so on. There was no mistake, they had found the bandits' hideout.

Alex smiled brightly and spoke in a saintly tone. "It's precisely because we are so close that we need to rest. Think about it, you cannot engage bandits and monsters when your body and mind are tired, right?"

As usual, he came up with an excuse to annoy the knight.

"You mothafucka…" Vangeane was about to rage out and punch the handsome mug of Alex when Kevin and the other stopped him. The knight was dragged back to his team.

At that very instant when nobody was looking, an ugly smile crept on Alex's face. Just then, from the corner of his eyes, he saw the woman knight from the Temple of Light write something on her notepad.

"What are you doing?"

"Ah!" Delicia blinked in surprise before answering, "I was just writing my report. Before coming here, Commander told me to make a record of everything that happens during the mission and report it back to him so that he can pass this information back to the client. Hm? What's going on? You look a little pale?"

She tilted her head, seeing that the adventurer's expression suddenly worsened.

"I-It's nothing," Saying that, he turned towards his teammates and told them that he had changed his mind and that they would rest after clearing the mission.

"See, that's how you handle guys like them." Delicia walked back, her smile a little smug.

Seeing how she easily handled the schemes of the other guy, all of them were impressed.

"As expected of a former knight chosen by the Commander. You really are great," Vangeance commended. They had all heard about Delicia and her circumstances from Reinhardt. Naturally, they were not surprised that she was so capable.

"By the way, Miss Delicia".

"Just call me, big sister." While she might be older than all of them here, she was still in her early twenties.

"In that case, big sister Delicia, did Commander really ask you to make a report on the events of the mission?" Gwen questioned.

"Haha, he didn't. It was just a ruse to get that annoying fellow straight. Though I do like making a record of my missions. I used to do that before when I was in Silver Shield".

So that was the case, the squad was even more impressed.

.

"We attack from the front. Misha and the other mages will begin by bombarding the empty grounds and causing chaos among their ranks. Then our archers will take out their sentries, blinding them. The warriors will move after that, and the assassin and the archer will provide support. Priest will stay behind and heal anyone injured".

Hiding not far away from the bandits' settlement, Alex quickly drew up a plan. The assassins from his guild who snuck in to gauge the layout of the bandits' base, returned with valuable information allowing him to make the best strategy quickly.

"Do you have anything to add, Sir Knight?" Alex looked towards Vangeance.

"No, the plan sounds fine. While you guys clear the bandits, we will sneak in from behind and rescue the hostage. However, before we begin this, I want to ask your assassins whether the house where the hostage is being kept is the right one?"

At that question, the assassins passed a glance at their guild master for a second before nodding their heads.

"I see, in that case, let us get this mission done".

.

.

BOOM… Suddenly, the ground shook. The three bandit chiefs who were lazing in the big tent, enjoying the intoxication of alcohol and raping women, were suddenly alarmed by the sudden noise.

"What's going on?" One of the bandit chiefs asked. He pushed away the heavily drugged woman lying on top of him aside and got up.

"Relax, it looks to me like our subordinates are going wild. No need to be so alarmed".
