Chapter 60: Superman VS Justinian.

Following the deadline that was rapidly approaching, Justinian began to prepare their arena. Fighting out in real space would be dangerous for his Empire, so he created a massive pocket dimension to house their duel.

The Pocket Dimension he created was the size of a very small universe which wasn't all that hard to create. By combining the properties of his Spear and the Boosted Gear he got the job done rather easily.

However, it was mostly empty space except for the main battleground. At the center of the dimension was the arena which took the form of a single sun-sized planet made of solid Neutron Star Material reinforced with Nth Metal.

The sun-sized planet was dark black and radiated a titanic gravitational field around it. Surrounding the planet were ten large suns which would make the battle more interesting. Superman was going to be at his strongest here which would make him a better challenge.

Of course, Justinian who had long since used Kryptonian DNA in his enhancements wasn't going to be a disadvantage. It would just make things fairer in his opinion Currently, he, his Honor Guard, Ddraig, Albion, Eldora, Legienstrasse and Erda were standing on the completely metallic planet.

Even now, the massive gravitational field roaring from the planet caused it to glow a slight black. Justinian hummed as he looked up at the distant ten suns. Each one was double the size of the Solar Systems sun meaning they were far brighter.

Even now, he could feel his armor absorbing the Solar Radiation which was then absorbed by his cells. Inside his cells, the Solar Radiation fused with Psychic and Divine Energy along with the Omega Effect.

The cocktail was rather potent, especially after he enhanced this ability with Tamaranean DNA. When he saw that the battleground and the sun were working he nodded to himself.

"It appears that I have outdone myself."

Legienstrasse had to agree with him when she looked up into the distance at the sun. When she stood next to her Father, she felt rather small as she was only 10 feet tall rather than his 14 feet.

"I will say, Father. Though, I doubt even with all this, Superman will entertain you long."

He smiled as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

"You would be right. This is just to give me someone to fight who are not your uncles."

Every single one of his Honor Guard had Kryptonian and Tamaranean DNA including his Legienstrasse. Eldora hadn't yet undergone any genetic engineering as Ddraig and Justinain felt she was fine as she was for the moment.

Ddraig who was standing with Eldora turned around with a sly smirk.

"True. Now, how long until the deadline?"

Justinian answered with a distracted look.

"Five days."

Albion ran a hand down his beard as that wasn't long.

"What do you think Superman has been doing to prepare?"

Remnosh had a few guesses.

"Sunbathing maybe or spending time with his family. According to Tigruel, he hasn't been seen since the deadline was set."

Sigismund tapped his finger on the handle of his sword.

"Curious. By the way, My Lord. What happens after you beat Superman?"

That was the easy question.

"We take control of every country through our infiltrators. They have entered the governments of every country from the lowest to highest positions of authority. After that, we start to implement our laws.

Go through the prisons of the world, free the innocent, deal with the guilty, and once things are stable, bring the culture of my Imperium to the planet. Enough chitchat, we must get things ready. The people of Terra will watch as their hero falls."

---

Over the course of the next five days, Justinian and his people got things ready. With the arena finished they worked on the method of viewing. They were going to hack every single electronic that could play recordings to make sure the whole world saw his Domination and supremacy.

On Earth, in Gotham in the Batcave, Superman sat with Bruce. The two friends sat together quietly drinking a glass of Scotch to calm their nerves. However, at times like this, Superman began to think of the words of Justinian.

"We do not measure our lives in the decades, but the millennia."

As Bruce heard the words come out of Clark's mouth he sighed.

"Starting to understand what he meant?"

Clark nodded.

"Bruce, I still look in my early 20s while you are starting to-"

He stopped himself, but Bruce answered.

"Wrinkle, slow, decay?"

Superman smirked.

"I was going to say age, but you said it, not me. But in spite of sounding like I don't care, I am starting to understand. This is just after forty years, what happens in another 60? 100, 1000? I will still be alive then, alone."

Bruce nodded.

"Not fully alone, you have John with you. Your son will live as long as you. However, you will have someone else to keep you company. Your new Emperor. How confident are you?"

Clark thought about it.

"From 0 being not a chance in hell, to a ten to a guarantee, I think I stand at negative ten. But, the time has come for me to meet Justinian."

Clark set down his glass on the desk then he walked toward the window. He looked out at the streets of Gotham and closed his eyes. Instantly, he began to hear the voices of the people of Gotham.

As Justinian said, the city kept getting worse no matter how much Bruce fought crime. He opened the window before he took a deep breath.

"See you soon."

He began to fly before he flew off into the city. Before he went to face Justinian, he saved several people in Gotham from crime. Once he did his part, he flew out of Earth's atmosphere.

Waiting for him just outside of Earth's atmosphere was Justinian, with his Honor Guards, Legienstrasse, Eldora, and Erda. Ddraig and Albion had returned to their Sacred Gears to wait for Superman.

As Justinian said, Superman would absolutely show up as he said he would. When he arrived, Justinian smiled. It wasn't a friendly smile, far from it.

"You have arrived. Are you ready?"

Superman nodded.

"I am. Where will this duel take place?"

Justinian didn't delay.

"Our arena has been created. Let's go now."

Justinian waved his spear and teleported them all in a flash of golden-purple light into the pocket Dimension. When Superman landed on the Neutron Star planet, he buckled a little, but not under the gravity of the planet.

No, it was the absolute rush of Yellow Sun Radiation surging through his cells. Even now, he could feel his power increasing. He looked up and he saw the distant ten suns constantly bombarding their location in their light.

He turned to Justinian and placed his spear on his back. Justinian turned to his group before he nodded.

"I will explain, that this Pocket Dimension has been reinforced to handle extreme stress. However, I fully expect it to break as such, I have placed it in a dead zone of the Milky Way. There is no life for several light years so we can battle without fear."

Justinian waved his hand and even from the pocket dimension he hacked into every screen, electronic, and device through the entire Imperium including Terra. The people of Terra were instantly alarmed when they saw Justinian on their screens.

"People of Terra, I am Justinian Arcadius Valoris Valdor, God Emperor of The Imperium. On this day, the independence of your planet is at stake. Today, Terra will rightfully be returned to me, or it might just remain independent.

Your Champion, Superman will be fighting for the sake of your planet. He seeks to keep Terra from joining The Imperium and this will reveal whether that stays or not."

All over the Imperium, the many billions of citizens were chearing and chanting Justinian's name. However, on Earth, those watching were now worried. They focused on the battle as this would determine the fate of their planet

Once he addressed the people, he turned around to face Superman.

"You have 10 minutes to prepare."

Superman nodded.

"Thank you."

Justinian walked away with his Honor Guard and group. Once they were a distance away, Justinian made a small joke.

"Wish him luck."

Sigismund and Helbrecht placed their hands on his shoulders before they bowed their heads. He returned the gesture and when they left the others also wished him luck in their own ways.

Dorn slammed his fist into his chest plate, Guilliman tipped his head, and Perturabo raised a fist it continued until they were all gone. The ones that stayed with his wife. Lauralina smiled as she quickly hugged him.

"Kick his ass, my Emperor."

"I intend to."

He patted her on the back as he teleported out of the arena. Magna merely gave him a wink and a thumbs up.

"Do your worst."

When she was gone, even Leona gave him some encouraging words.

"Have fun."

Even now she wasn't a big talker, but he understood.

"Of course."

When she left, only Legienstrasse and Remnosh remained. Remnosh walked toward him and she placed her hand on his chest plate.

"Want to fight unarmored?"

He thought about it, but he shook his head.

"I was, but no. I am going all out. This armor is part of my arsenal, so it matters."

She nodded.

"Got it. Let's go, Legienstrasse."

"Yes, Mother."

With that, the two teleported away leaving just Justinian and Superman on the metal planet. He turned around to look at Superman who was floating with his legs crossed. He had taken the chance to absorb as much energy as he could.

Over the last month Bruce and he had been working on ways to increase his solar satuation. Now, with the ten suns orbiting them, Superman had the energy to burn. When he saw Justinian was ready, he landed on the ground before he walked toward Justinian.

Eventually, they were only a few feet apart, but at times like this, Superman was reminded how small he was. Justinian was 14 feet tall, armored like a tank, radiating boundless power, and didn't seem too bothered.

"Just so you know Superman, I respect you. Always have. You actually do good, unlike Batman. That is why I wanted to have this chance."

Justinian grabbed his helmet and placed it on which locked into his Power Armor. Superman sighed.

"Thank you, I will try to not be too disappointing." '

Superman clenched his fists as even now he could feel the Solar Radiation being absorbed by his body. For a few tense seconds, the people of Earth held their breath while the people of the Imperium kept chanting.

All their faith was absorbed by the modified Lantern ring Justinian was wearing on his right hand, however, that didn't last as Superman blasted toward Justinian at speeds he had never reached before.

Light Seed had lost its meaning as Superman's fist slammed into Justinian's chestplate. Rather than get pushed back, Justinian stayed standing and his armor didn't seem damaged at all.

However, cracks blasted out from where Justinian was standing on the planet. Superman not being deterred pulled his fist back and began to throw a flurry of blows each hitting the Auramite Power Armor Justinian done.

On Earth, the Justice League watched on in horror as it seemed none of Superman's punches did any damage to Justinian. Then things changed as Justinian threw a punch that slammed into Superman's face with the force of a black hole.

Justinian slammed his fist into the planet sending huge cracks through its surface. He reached down and grabbed Superman by the face which he used to drag him out of the rubble. He threw Superman away causing the hero to be sent hurtling through the air.

However, Clark fixed his flight as he rubbed his face.

"You have gotten stronger."

Justinian began to walk forward slowly.

"That would be the Kryptonian and Tamaranean DNA I used on myself. As for you, it seems you're still holding back."

Superman took a deep breath as he clenched his fist. He exhaled and when he opened his eyes they were different. They seemed more certain as he could not hold back here. While he would lose, he would at least make this a real battle.

He hurled himself forward causing a shockwave to hurl through the planet increasing the devastation. When he reached Justinian with a roar he threw his entire strength into the punch. When his fist slammed into Justinian's face, his helmet dented in and he was thrown backward several thousand meters.

As for the arena, the planet damage increased as titanic impacts shook it. Justinian dug his feet in as he assessed the damage.

"Passible."

The dented portion of his helmet fixed itself without any permanent damage. Clark didn't get discouraged as he took a deep breath. The Solar Radiation continued to be absorved by his body making him stronger, faster, and more resilient.

The issue was that Justinian had the same advantage meaning he was fighting uphill. He would need to be stronger if he had any hope to put a dent in that tin can.

"That is one tough nut."

Justinian huffed.

"I did upgrade it with a material you struggle to damage. Are you done, getting warmed up?"

Superman blinked and without sound Justinian reached him. A massive fist slammed into his chin rattling his brain and sending him out of the atmosphere. Justinian bent his legs before he blasted up to get his prey.

Superman had to be better than this, he would not leave without seeing Superman's true power. He just had to coax it out and if that meant a beating, he would do it.

"SHOW ME SOMETHING SUPERMAN!"
