The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1170: Seeing Lord Wan Again

An official ship was docked nearby, not far from the large boat they were seated on.

Beside the official ship, several soldiers stood guard, and a few carriages had just brought people ashore.

Among the group, there were both men and women, all preparing to board the ship.

However, when Shu Yu saw a certain man among the crowd, she suddenly paused in surprise.

Wasn't that Lord Wan?

Unexpectedly, when she went to the Capital, she had encountered Lord Wan once at the inn's backyard in Shangyang Prefecture. Now, on her way back to the Capital, she saw him once again.

However, their directions now were completely opposite; this time, Lord Wan seemed to be heading back to the Capital.

It seemed quite a coincidence.

Shu Yu watched from a distance, seeing their hurried demeanor, and with Lord Wan surrounded by other officials, she never thought of greeting him.

While listening to the discussions beside her, she sipped her soup, occasionally glancing at Gouwa's focused expression.

The child was very serious about eating, always meticulous, not allowing even a single crumb to fall on the table.

After the child ate most of his meal, Shu Yu pushed the bowl of soup to him, "Slow down, have some soup, don't choke."

Gouwa obediently placed the bun on the small plate on the table and drank the soup.

However, what Shu Yu didn't know was that as she lowered her head, Lord Wan, about to board the official ship, looked over for a moment before continuing forward.

Upon entering the room, just as Lord Wan was about to untie the cloak off his shoulders, a pair of hands reached over from behind.

"Lord, let me help."

The hands belonged to a woman, wearing a curtain hat. Just entering the room, she removed the hat, hurried over to assist him.

Lord Wan turned his head, smiling, "No need, after so many days on the road, you should rest a bit. Has everything been settled with Xiaoqing?"

The woman took his cloak and hung it aside, nodding with a smile, "Settled. The maid you bought for her is honest and caring, no need to worry about her."

"That's good." Lord Wan walked to the shelf to wash his face.

The woman walked to the front and opened the window, from this perspective, she could see the large boat next door.

Lord Wan also approached, following her gaze, just in time to see Meng Pei stepping off the deck holding an ashes urn.

He did not recognize this person, so Lord Wan quickly withdrew his gaze, saying to the woman, "Not sure if you'll get seasick; if you feel unwell later, ask the ship's doctor for some medicine."

"I understand, Lord, don't worry."

"Then rest first, I'll go out for a bit to check the ship's situation."

Lord Wan clasped his hands behind his back, left the room, and inquired about the guard's arrangements. He returned only once the official ship set sail.

Upon returning, he saw the woman still leaning by the window, watching the retreating scenery on the shore. He asked, "What are you thinking about? So absorbed?"

The woman snapped out of her thoughts, hurriedly stood up to serve him a bowl of soup, "I just cooked this for you in the kitchen, still warm, try it, Lord."

After Lord Wan drank a couple of sips, the woman answered his earlier question, "I was thinking about how long it will take us to reach the Capital. I wonder if Yu is also in the Capital at this moment."

Lord Wan pondered, "Last time I saw her in Shangyang Prefecture; if her destination is indeed the Capital, it's possible for you two to meet."
