Chapter 1141: The Medicine Is Indeed a Bit Less
Yao Tianqin and his wife never imagined that while the person who poisoned Yu had yet to be found, another person emerged who poisoned their son and daughter-in-law.
Could it be that the poisoner wasn't targeting Yu, but was after the entire Yao Family?
Yao Hong and Yao An exchanged a glance, both showing a flash of shock on their faces.
What's going on? This wasn't part of their plan.
Madam Yao steadied herself and asked Cai'er, "You said the person was caught red-handed. Who is that person?"
Cai'er hesitated, her eyes subtly shifting towards the Yao An siblings.
Yao Hong, already feeling guilty, was particularly irritated by her gaze, "Why are you looking at me? Are you implying that I did the poisoning?"
Though she spoke confidently, her heart was uncertain.
The maid who administered the poison wasn't here now, and who knows where she might have gone. Hopefully, she hadn't lost her mind and gone to her cousin's room.
She couldn't help but glance at Yao An. Yao An kept a composed face, but inside he was equally tense.
Fortunately, Cai'er denied it, "No, I didn't say it was the Young Lady who poisoned, but the person who did it is, is Miss Wang."
"Who?" Yao Hong doubted her ears.
"Miss Wang."
Yao Hong shook her head, "Impossible."
Cai'er was still feeling wronged. After all, the Young Master himself caught the person, how could it be impossible?
Madam Yao looked around and frowned, "Indeed, with such chaos here, we're all present except for Miss Wang. Could it be she went to administer the poison?"
She scowled, "Let's go to Po'er's yard and see what Wang Jiayi is really up to."
After speaking, she turned her head towards Shu Yu, who stood up, "I should be fine now, let's go. I also want to see if the medicine in my tea was from her."
Madam Yao instructed a maid to support Shu Yu, and a group of them marched towards Yao Po's yard.
Yao An and Yao Hong walked at the back, speaking in hushed tones, "What's going on? Why would Sister Jiayi administer the poison? Could there be some misunderstanding?"
"I don't know," Yao An said, suddenly thinking of something, and abruptly halted.
"What's wrong?"
Yao An whispered, "Earlier, when I took the medicine out of the pouch, I felt like there was a bit missing, could it be..."
Yao Hong's eyes widened, "No way."
An ominous premonition flashed in both of their eyes.
As they spoke, they arrived at Yao Po's yard.
Upon entering the yard, they heard Wang Jiayi's sobs and cries of unjust treatment.
Yao Tianqin saw her sitting on the ground and hurried a few steps to Yao Po's side, asking, "What happened?"
Yao Po pointed to the medicine packet on the table, "Just now, when I returned to get my cloak, I heard noises from the room, found it odd, and quietly entered. I caught her red-handed pouring the medicine powder from this packet into our teapot. Yet, she still won't admit it."
Yao Tianqin turned to Wang Jiayi, who shivered, continuously crying her innocence.
Madam Yao interrupted her, "Stop shouting. Tell me, what kind of medicine did you give my son and daughter-in-law? What exactly do you want to do?"
Wang Jiayi kept her head down, not speaking.
Madam Yao was furious, Yao Tianqin pursed his lips, "If you refuse to talk, then we'll send you directly to the authorities."
He called over the butler, "Go to the Capital Governor's Office and report, say someone tried to poison my son, attempting to murder for wealth."
"Yes."
