Ryo's eyes fluttered open, his body aching as if he had been crushed under a mountain. As his vision adjusted, he realized he was in his dorm room, but he was not alone. Around him stood Selena, her father, two of his guards, and a girl he had never seen before—a girl with long silver hair and striking blue eyes.

He tried to sit up, but pain surged through his body. Selena quickly placed a hand on his shoulder. "Just rest for now," she said gently.

Before he could respond, the Vampire Lord spoke in a deep, commanding voice. "I approve of your engagement with my daughter."
