The Abyssal Garden: No Room for the Idle

Chapter 468: Total War! (Part 2)

"And this is some of the remaining strength within them, even though it's not any particular person, but..."

Before he finished speaking, numerous forces and adventurers had already unleashed their strength, rushing towards the points where all the twisted light clusters landed.

"These unclaimed powers do not have predetermined hosts like other forces. It's first come, first served. As long as you touch this twisted light cluster, it's as if you've inherited a part of its power."

There were many unclaimed light clusters.

Scattered stars glimmered across the sky, falling towards the ground.

The past war revealed just how many nameless ones had fallen, with only this part of strength remaining, enduring through the ages, determined to display their final glory.

"Aren't we going?" Jiang Zhi was also itching to go; to be honest, he felt An Nan knew many ancient secrets, but it was natural for others to be a Divine Son.

He was now well aware of his own status; stronger powers wouldn't fall to him.

But if it's like this, he thought he could still strive for it; staying put was the most foolish choice.

"No need to go, they will descend densely and grandly; many will appear directly nearby, even falling into the jurisdiction, but I still have some unease."

An Nan gazed at the Sky Dome.

For some reason, although unclaimed twisted light clusters were now descending, he couldn't shake off a feeling of unease, as if a terrifying gaze watched from further beyond.

The unclaimed twisted light clusters fell with thunderous force.

And indeed, as An Nan said, the forces of the Ancient Battlefield were dense, as numerous as the Star River. Although there surely wouldn't be enough for the sheer number of adventurers from the New Continent, it would inevitably lead to fierce struggles.

But... at least it wouldn't be exceedingly scarce, and with the Divine Sons and other powerful individuals being disinterested in these forces, it gave a chance for many adventurers with potential and power to acquire them.

Jiang Zhi was one of them, rapidly moving near the jurisdiction, lifting his head to watch a twisted light cluster fall from the Sky Dome, moving at great speed and larger than others nearby, appearing more potent.

This cluster was closest to him and seemed the most achievable.

Because it was falling near the colossal temple controlled by two God's Sons, many strong individuals didn't want to provoke them, hence avoiding this place and heading elsewhere.

Which gave Jiang Zhi his chance.

"Roar!"

The path forward was naturally not smooth; there was also a massive tide of monsters, pouncing towards this direction.

It wasn't only monsters; various Abyss Camp forces, believers, and lives had already appeared on this battlefield under the Abyss Palace's spatial power, as the twisted light cluster descended.

They too joined the struggle.

While the main battlefield was still at the Gods Palace, the overwhelmingly vast Abyss clearly wouldn't forgo any strength.

Enemies from the Abyss Camp were easily identifiable because each member under Abyss's allegiance had an Abyss Totem imprinted upon them, being their sole symbol of allegiance, incapable of ever escaping the Abyss's control.

Nonetheless, countless forces, countless lives still flocked into the Abyss, believing it to be the future ruler of all; its terrifying power would spread across every inch of the Present World.

Life would be devastated, all would fall silent, with innumerable resisters destroyed, though as long as it didn't include them, that sufficed.

Jiang Zhi squinted, dodging a deadly gleam aimed at his side. The lethal intent did not panic him; after all, he was perpetually in a combat state, and as a former Heavenly Pride, he wouldn't easily relax or feel fear.

"Bang!" Jiang Zhi's tiger's mouth subtly shook, because the enemy that just attacked had already lunged in front of him.

This person emitted black gas all over, the Abyss Totem clearly flickered on their forehead, their cold smile twisted with madness.

Jiang Zhi's eyes focused as he noticed twenty similar figures assaulting others nearby. His face slightly darkened: "Abyss lunatics, what do you want with that power? It won't integrate with you."

The person's smile remained crazed: "Though that power rejects the Abyss, it can evoke a significant destructive force if your corpses are used for blood rituals."

Jiang Zhi's pupils narrowed fiercely; lunatics, Abyss is indeed full of lunatics, and even a mere ordinary believer makes hearts grow cold.

Without any hesitation, Jiang Zhi immediately erupted, though merely an unnoticed ant amid this immense flood of chaos, he's continually been frantically enhancing his own strength.

A slash came down, the person's eyes slightly narrowed, but the next moment, they sneered without retreating, ready to take a lethal strike.

Simultaneously, the icy gleam in their hand also targeted Jiang Zhi.

Jiang Zhi trembled, shocked by the person's madness; an arm flew out, blood scattering.

Yet, it wasn't Jiang Zhi's, just his shoulder pierced through.

The person did not feel pain, instead their eyes turned bright red with laughter: "Blood, blood!"

"Such power, it's fantastic!"

The next moment.

Their severed arm was rapidly repaired by numerous threads of blood gushing out from the Abyss Totem in a blink of an eye.

Jiang Zhi's eyes widened.

What's that, the power of the Abyss?

A sense of unease overcame him, as around him, the nearby adventurers either fled or died, each Abyss believer's totem exuding chilling power.

Distinct from the threads of blood within the totem of the person before him.

Dark chaotic liquid.

The bizarre pollution enshrouding the body.

A cursed eye atop the raised arm brought extreme unease.

Now, these twenty or so Abyss believers dropped the corpses they held, though hadn't moved.

Yet Jiang Zhi didn't hesitate; he quickly charged towards the twisted light cluster about to fall.

No retreat, nor any allies.

The only path to survival lay in that twisted light cluster; if he could obtain its remaining power, he might escape these dangerous foes...

Not good.

Suddenly, Jiang Zhi stiffened, a sense of calamity loomed, as if his body was struck by a hammer.

Blood surged.

He lifted his head, despair confronting him.

Not only were those Abyss believers standing next to the twisted light cluster, but also a successfully evolved Giant Hammer Monster.

Its body was small, yet its cheeks bulged, swelling immensely, blasting the ground with atmospheric cannons at the roar of its mouth!

Despite his sequence six strength being defenseless, he was numbed by a single blast.

Though no fatal damage occurred, the ensuing tremors and rigidity drove Jiang Zhi to despair.

Over twenty individuals instantly lunged at him, deadly gleams poised to pierce him through.

And at that moment!

"Splash!"

A series of piercing sounds echoed suddenly.

Jiang Zhi smelled blood in the air, accompanied by an impressive horrific heat rushing forth.

He lifted his head, shaken.

All foes who had surrounded him were pierced by a long spear; the power it emanated decimated the tide of monsters wanting to assault him.

The next moment.

A figure slowly landed, pulling up the long spear planted in the ground.

Jiang Zhi skeptically watched the person, who was none other than one of the temple's Controllers, the God's Son of the Heavenly Court, Yang Jian!

"Tha-...thank you, mi-..."

He was about to speak.

"The countdown is about to end, danger approaches." Yang Jian calmly remarked, then stomped the ground fiercely once more, creating numerous cracks, as he charged back into the tide of monsters carrying the spear.

Jiang Zhi: "..."

So fierce!

Such a powerful existence, why would they save him? Even warning him of impending danger.

Of course, perhaps simply a spur of the moment, a casual gesture.

Jiang Zhi felt deeply moved.

People are truly kind.
