The Abandoned Prince With The Otherworldly Shopping System

Chapter 86: Agreement

"We are aware, my lord... Nevertheless, this request is our personal desire. Even if it is a sin, we are acting without regard for Lady Nyx's thoughts. We pray three times a day, giving thanks to Lady Nyx before and after meals, but... this time, selfishly though it may be, we wish to do what we desire," Theodas had said.

These words would have directly condemned Theodas to death within the Holy Empire, but the green-eyed elf was truly fortunate; Luke, though now a supporter of Lady Nyx, was not a very devout person.

"So you want to find those mountains instead of me, is that it?' Luke asked, responding to Theodas" words without wanting to sin.

"There are eighteen known mountains, thought to be home to the Ancient Dragons or the Ancient Phoenixes. You went to one, leaving seventeen remaining. Four of these mountains are on the southern continent. The largest number of mountains gathered on a single continent is exactly there, and we just want to prove ourselves to ourselves, even if it's a little selfish." Theodas replied.

"Why?" Luke questioned, overcome with great curiosity.

"To permanently remind ourselves of our trust in you and how we practically worship you, my lord... At your command are half-demons, half-humans, elves, humans, fairies, and even dark elves, whose lineage is thought to be extinct. We fear the day will come when you no longer need us, and when that day comes, even if we are left behind, we want to be able to say with pride [We did everything in our power until we were no longer part of this]."

With that, Theodas finished speaking and waited for Luke's response.

"So this..." Luke had said.

"Loyalty, my lord," Theodas said, with full seriousness and happiness.

With these words, Luke had shaken his head from side to side, as if accepting everything and giving up on arguing directly.

"Very well, as you wish. Then prove your worth to me, show me how useful you can be. You have four months. While the rune scribes who can draw teleportation circles are here, go to the Southern Continent and bring me news by the time my birthday arrives. You may go and prepare; I will take care of the rest," Luke said.

With these words, Theodas first bowed his head respectfully, then knelt on his knees and said, "I will not disappoint you, sir," before leaving the study.

"A strange elf," Cilla said as politely as she could.

Luke chuckled at this and replied, "I know." Then, taking a deep breath, he said, "Go and order one of the servants to prepare me a medium-rare steak and a nice salad. I'm hungry," finally dismissing Cilla.

He had a lot of work to do and therefore had to keep going full steam ahead.

There were nearly four hundred documents in his study inside the palace. Documents requiring signatures, awaiting counter-orders to reports, and many more.

Luke had to finish them before nightfall, and he had barely five hours left.

Despite reading the documents carefully, he managed to complete each one at hyper speed and had finished everything by the time his meal arrived an hour later. He had a lot to do tomorrow; after all, he had dealt with every problem on his plate, at least every active one.

After sending Thaodas tomorrow, Luke would go directly to Esphia and keep his promise to the Duchy of Wirgo.

After all, he had a massive city to build, or rather enlarge, covering hundreds of kilometres.

By the time night fell and Luke finally got into bed with his wife Zoey, both of them were incredibly tired. They fell asleep shortly after and woke up at nine in the morning.

It was too late for them to wake up, and there was no need to explain how tired they were.

After quickly getting ready, the pair set to work again.

Luke had finally summoned the rune carvers, who had finished their work, to the workroom.

The first thing he did was present them with the Moonlight Drops he had purchased from the shop panel. He then gave them a large amount of mythril and began to speak:

"Thank you for your help, but I have come with another request. I would appreciate it if you would listen, if possible."

Luke could see how exhausted each of the mages in front of him was. They had been working non-stop since arriving here to transfer literally hundreds of tonnes of mythril and tonnes of plants and other items to the two empires.

They hadn't taken a single break.

Not a single wizard had stopped for even a second.

Still, Luke wanted to fulfil Theodas's request immediately.

Despite being quite exhausted, one of the wizards immediately stepped forward and said, "Command us, noble prince."

"I will go to the Duchy of Wirgo today, but I need you here," Luke said, adding, "There will be twelve elves that I want you to send from here to the southern continent, the Mahrak Continent."

When Luke got down to business, Theodas came into his study for a few minutes and clearly stated that everything was ready and that twelve elves were waiting with him.

"If there are twelve, it will be quite easy. For greater safety, we request to do this after resting, my prince, if it is not a problem for you," said the wizard who had stepped forward.

Luke replied, 'Of course, as you wish,' and then showed the wizards to the door.

"Ah! By the way, you can rest in the palace. This isn't the capital palace; we don't have such rules here. Rest, eat and drink as you please, just make sure you complete the task I gave you properly within a maximum of two days."

With these words, the wizards left the room, and Luke began to prepare. He could set off directly for the Duchy of Wirgo.

After all, there was an important promise he gave and as a Hiera, he needed to fulfill that promise as quick as possible.
