That Time I Got Reincarnated By Veldanava

Chapter 32: The Tension Betweennrik And God

"What the hell were you thinking? All this time, you've promised everyone not to go to war, and when the time comes to prove it, you provoke someone as prideful as Guy Crimson. I could've talked him down, I could've prevented a war, but instead, you let your ego get to you.

Are you happy now? Had to prove you were a man and now you've broken your fundemental promise to your allies, you started a war, and you've made it so I have to fight against someone I actually like. What the hell were you thinking?" Veldanava yelled in Henrik's face in the throne room after the party was over.

"I was thinking that Guy Crimson is the main problem in this world. He's meant to be a mediator, not play God with whole nations. But not anymore, when I'm done..." Henrik said before he was cut off.

"When you're done? Have you forgotten everything? This war will never be done, Guy is a Primordial, he can't die. He'll just keep coming back and fighting again. And why? Because the idiot king had to prove his power."

"Watch it Veldanava, I'm trying to make this world better, a world that you screwed..." Suddenly, Henrik was forced to his knees as Veldanava released his aura and reminded Henrik just who he really is.

"Silence human. You are strong, but I am beyond you, you would do well to remember that. I promised to help you, and I will, but do not, for one second, think that I'm one of your subordinates who thinks you immaculate. I know who you truly are, a 9-5, no real life human playing king.

Perhaps I was wrong to grant you so much power. Henrik, do not become a threat to this world, or you will answer to me."

Veldanava then stopped forcing Henrik to his knees and offered him a hand up, which Henrik accepted as he was eager to put behind him just how weak he was compared to Veldanava.

"How is Milim?"

"Confused. She knew I'd come back, but seeing Lucia was a lot for her. To keep your ultimate skills a secret, we told her that I resurrected Lucia when I came back. She was upset that we didn't go to her but when we explained that my return was announced and she didn't try to come to us, we thought she needed some time.

Turns out she's actually been waiting for us to find her. But she couldn't wait any longer and after hearing that the Demon Lords were coming here, she came. Turns out she renounced the title of Demon Lord weeks ago not long after we returned."

"Yeah, she told me as we were flying here that she'll join the alliance. That's three Demon Lords and Leon who is willing to open diplomatic ties with us. It's safe to say The 11 Great Demon Lords is over. Once this war with Guy is concluded, however it ends, then that will make us the greatest nation there is, and a symbol of freedom."

"Perhaps, if it's king doesn't lose himself in the fights to come."

"Well, if that happens, you'll be here to kill me," Henrik joked.

"Yes, I will." Veldanava spoke with seriousness in his voice which made Henrik know that he best not lose his way.

"But then we'll have an even bigger problem to deal with," Henrik said with caution in his voice.

"Yes, I suppose it does. When we beat the Demon Lords, my brother in law will make a move. The two of us are the only ones who know of the truth, that Rudra has been taken over by the manas Michael. It shouldn't be long from this day that Masayuki comes to this world.

The Demon Lords are one thing, but the Eastern Empire, they're a beast all to themselves. And with people like Rudra and Velgrynd, there's no way we can be so reckless. Especially since Michael is the real mastermind. If it was Rudra, I could talk to him and even forge an alliance, but it isn't.

And before you suggest it no, I can't just stop Michael. While it's true this all happened because Michael only ever saw me as it's master, over the years, it has become corrupt, tainted. It is no longer the manas I gave Rudra years ago."

"So that means that we'll have to fight them. Velgrynd is under it's control, but with you, Shizu, Veldora and me here. There's no doubt we'll win. The only question is, how many people will the Empire manage to kill before we stop them."

"Just one is too many. I know you have clones of Souei all over the Eastern Empire, I'd suggest making them retreat. If they're discovered it will only enrage our enemies. What we need is discreet and under the radar infiltration. Souei is great at what he does, but the moment he is realised, he sticks out like a sore thumb as a spy."

"Blanc."

"Yes, she already is feared in the empire, she has a foothold here. I'll leave it to you to recruit her, but I think it's time to recruit the Black Numbers.

After that, the orc disaster and Demon Lord Clayman has to be dealt with. That will establish your kingdom properly in the world. So far, all you've done is talk big and have Demon Lords give up the title, and to other nations, that seems only like right place right time scenarios.

Actually beating a Demon Lord and their domain, that will show everyone how serious you are. The only thing you need to decide is if you're going to kill Clayman or not?"

"No, he is only acting like this because he's brainwashed. I intend to undo that. I still have to destroy his domain, but instead of killing him, I intend to instead, reincarnate him. It'll give him a chance to be himself and make amends with his friends one day."

"Very well. As long as the world thinks you killed him, that'll be enough. Now, if you'll excuse me, I will take me leave. I haven't spent time with my daughter in 2000 years so I'm leaving for a while. Dino will stay here in my place and report to me."

"You're leaving?" Henrik asked slightly saddened.

"Only for a few weeks at most. I'll be back in time for the coming war. But I have no intention of Lucia being here when it happens. I haven't seen her for milenia, I need to spend time with her."

"Take Veldora."

"What?"

"We have enough monsters in the dungeon to last us a long time, our magisteel reserves are good. So he can have a vacation. Plus, I want him to be able to truly be happy in this new world. For that, he needs to change.

2000 years ago, you excluded him from Milim's life, I'm sure he felt left out and lashed out a lot more than usual. So, I want you to take him with you, let him spend some time with his niece and sister in law. Think of how well behaved he is with Lucia.

I think being around us powerful beings so much just makes him think everyone can take his attacks. He knows Lucia can't and he is genuinely kind with her. I think for him to change, he just needs to be around people that aren't like him.

Sure, you lectured him in the past, but you're his big, unstoppable brother. He doesn't have to worry about hurting you. True, he can't hurt Milim, but I think he can learn about a different type of hurt that isn't physical if he's around those two."

"Maybe. I didn't want Milim to learn from him, I never thought that maybe he'd be the one learning from having a baby niece. Okay, I'll try it, but Milim's domain is full of strong people. But, maybe Lucia can teach him something. What if you need True Dragon help?"

"Me and Veldora both have a skill that lets us summon each other through our soul corridor. So if I need it, I'll call for you guys.

And Veldanava," Henrik said in a regretful voice.

"Yes?" Veldanava asked, slightly distant from the conversation.

"I'm sorry. I know that you trusted me with this power, and even if it was unavoidable, I certainly didn't help the situation. In truth, I didn't trust you enough, and now, I've perhaps damaged this world even more."

"What's bringing this on all of a sudden?" Veldanava asked with genuine concern.

"I know you say you're leaving to spend time with Milim, but you could do that here. I guess, I'm just thinking it's so you can get away from me."

"Henrik," Veldanava said as he patted his friend on the shoulder. "My life has been running away from my mistakes. Ivarage, Feldway, Veldora. I told you I was done running, and I meant it. If I thought you were a mistake, the last thing I'd do, the last thing Lucia would let me do. Is run away.

I'll be honest with you. I do intend to fully leave. When your vision for this world is complete. But not run away. You may be older than time, but your mentally not even 50. You're so young, so let's just say what you did with Guy was an immature mistake and move on. It's done now, can't take it back. Just, promise me, no more.

I can accept this war with Guy because when you win, him and his subordinates will be fine. He'll resurrect, and his subordinates will be returned to Hell. But Luminous, the other one you refused to work with, you have to promise me that won't become a war. Not one you start at least."

"I promise Veldanava. Just this one. When we beat Guy, I doubt any of the others will have the courage to fight us.

Before you leave, are you taking Dino with you?" Henrik asked as Veldanava removed his hand.

"No, I've ordered him to stay here. Even after all these years he is still loyal to me. You should've seen his face when he saw Lucia. He always did like her. And he was thrilled to see her again.

While he's here, he'll listen to you, but don't forget what he said. His loyalty is to me, so don't treat him like a regular subordinate."

Henrik then said goodbye to his oldest friend as he glided out of the room. He thought on the future a bit, the war with Guy looming. With the currnt state of his country, they would win, but take heavy damages if Guy's army managed to get inside the forest. Furthermore, they hadn't yet dealed with the orc disaster who was still rampaging through the nation.

His plan was simple, he would take the oni and Shizu to deal with the orc disaster and then subjegate the surviving orcs. That would greatly boost the nations military power. Then, he would show The Western Freedom Alliance the proof Souei has been gathering that shows Clayman is responsible for the orc disaster inside his nation.

That would then result in the WFA declaring war on Clayman and Henrik wouldn't be held responsible by Veldanava as it is within the alliances rule that if a Demon Lord attacks an allied nation, all countries have to go to war.

That would all happen in two months time, but first, he had to solidify the countries place in the world, that would involve create proper roads, developing monster tribes, finally trying to speak with Yuuki and bringing in more humans.

And that was only the top of a long list of things to do. So naturally, Henrik decided he'd delegate. Hakurou, along with Benimaru and Shion would completely revamp the training. The goblins were getting great at fighting without relying on the wolves but they were still primarily a mounted brigade. The solo training was only so they'd stand a chance if they were separate from their mount.

The new training included tactics and formations as well as live excercises that would force the wolves and goblins to improve. The excerise, fighting against a Shion who has Henrik's blessing to beat senseless whoever she thinks isn't trying hard enough. Obviously, this isn't true. But it motivated them well enough.

To make it tougher, Ranga would monitor the wolves and force them to not use [Thought Communication] with their assigned goblin as Henrik wanted them to work as one machine so they need to spend more effort in combat.

Shizu would continue to teach the students but also start to recruit people for her True Chosen Hero squad. She'd also spend time going through meditation with all aspects of the military as unique skills require both physical and mental training.

Gabiru was travelling the forest to find and recruit people to his arial attack force.

And Henrik, his first task was to get someone who Guy once admitted was an equal. And so he could have an entire daemon bloodline that would serve him. It was time to summon the black primordial, and one of the two people responsible for his death.
