Chapter 36: Five Days Destruction (2).
Sariel: 「Alright. Let's get this done with.」
I said as I prepared myself to end this.
I don't know if this would work out, but I still have to try.
It all depends on the timing. Once she is set in a good position, all I need to do is to counterattack.
Milim: 「AAAARGGH!!」
A piercing scream was released, shattering the earth and mountains near us.
I had to surround myself with the protective layers of my skill,『Multidimensional Barrier』.
She had grown considerably strong.
This was a strange battle if I said so myself.
She would somehow instantaneously recover all her lost energy, a thing I am incapable of.
Seeing this, I would continuously devour the energy in the atmosphere whilst absorbing some of her harmful energy, aiming to reduce her energy quantity.
When this harmful energy was absorbed, my partner would convert it into usable energy and store it in my 『Soul World』for later use.
In this process, there was no way either of us would run low on energy.
This is something that would make this fight go on without either side having the short end of the stick in terms of energy count.
I have come to understand this, and with that in mind, a plan was set up.
Milim sent ten magic bullets in my direction, aiming to lock me in place during the time I would be dodging them.
Understanding this, I stretched my arm out to use my 『Soul Lord』 to devour them all.
「Warning! Trap detected!」
Shit!!
I forced myself to dodge them as the sharp warning caused me to panick.
With me just being ten meters away from the magic bullets, a huge explosion ensued.
Each of the magic bullets exploded, causing a destructive energy radiation, one I wouldn't survive without a life-threatening consequence.
Sariel: 「The hell!? This just takes things to another level!」
Seeing the destruction caused by that attack, I could only sigh in frustration.
Time has passed since this fight started, but I can tell it isn't gonna end soon.
◇◇◇
Norana: 「That was close...」
She said as she turned to look at her assailant.
If not for Rose pulling her out of the way in time, she could have been seriously wounded.
The speed the assailant used to attack her was something she would not have been able to evade given her state at the time.
Now, she has the chance to look at who this mysterious individual was.
Rose: 「Hm... This is something new.」
Rose said as she scrutinized the invader.
She had not seen a race possessing the features of this stranger.
He had a humanoid form. Clad in a thick exoskeleton that surrounded his entire body like a suit of armor.
His black exoskeleton was entirely made up of hihi'irokane.
He had two golden horns along with two black wings adorning his back.
He also had gold-colored ornaments covering various parts of his exoskeleton.
This was the first time she had seen a being like this.
As the figure began to move towards them, she had a curious look.
Rose: 「Hm? And who might you be?」
She asked the stranger whilst fanning the debris that was still stagnating in the air.
「You don't need to know. You'd be dead soon either way.」
Rose: 「Oh? Such confidence. Do defend your words with strength.」
Norana: 「Uh, Rose. Please don't do this–」
Rose: 「Ney, Norana-chan. You think you could handle the chaos dragon for me? I have a bug to squash.」
Norana: 「Heh. I knew what was coming... *Sigh*. Fine, just reduce the amount of damage, okay?」
Rose: 「You worry for nothing. Please don't turn into Sariel Version 2.0 or something.」
Norana looked confused. Rose, seeing her confused state, sighed in disappointment.
Rose: 「*Sigh*. I knew it. Only Sariel-kun understands me.
Perhaps I should ask him to spoil me sometime later?」
Rose ignored Norana's confused gaze and marched in front of the invader.
Rose: 「Well, I'll be taking you on. It's a pleasure to meet you. I am known as the Pink Primordial demon: Rose.」
「Hmph. A primordial demon, you say? I am also known as the Insect Lord: Zelanus. Let's see just how strong you primordials are.」
Saying that, he disappeared from his position, appearing right beside Rose, ready to unleash a devastating punch.
Sensing the attack in time, Rose jumped over his figure with a graceful spin, landing right behind him in the process.
With her fan blades revealed, she made a swiping motion, using her elemental wind magic to make a powerful and sharp wind blade.
Zelanus sensed the attack but did nothing to evade it, allowing it to bounce over his tough exoskeleton.
Zelanus: 「Hmph. As expected from a demon. Puny magical attacks like that can only do so much.」
Rose: 「Hehe. I know, right?」
Zelanus appeared in front of her this time, aiming to land another powerful blow to her face.
Seeing this attack, Rose used one of her fan blades to strike his arm, changing the direction of his blow.
The attack was successfully parried, and Rose had found an opening.
Using her second fan blade, she struck him in the abdomen and, with the force of the wind, pushed him back a little.
But this didn't damage him in the slightest. In fact, he hadn't even felt the blow.
Zelanus: 「You really don't know when to give up.」
Rose: 「....」
Wasting no time, Zelanus sent a destructive energy wave to Rose, an attack that covered the entirety of the space around her.
Seeing this attack, Rose manipulated the space around them, distorting it beyond the norm to dissipate the energy wave.
During this process, Zelanus had already made his way to her back, sending a destructive kick to her head.
Sensing no reaction from her, Zelanus was confused. He was sure that a blow like that would kill her instantly.
And yet, she had made no effort to move out of the attack range.
Was she unable to perceive him?
If so, them she was all but capable.
Thinking of such, Zelenus didn't hesitate to end her.
His leg reached her head, with mere inches being the determiner.
But after a split second, his kick phased through her figure, with the said figure dissipating as a dark blue mist.
He was confused with this display.
He decided to distance himself from his initial position to understand what just happened.
The dark blue mist converged back to form Rose's figure.
Seeing this, even Norana, who was dealing with the chaos dragon, was confused.
Zelanus: 「Hm? What did you just do?」
Rose: 「And here I thought you'd be intelligent enough to figure it out on your own. I guess I expected too much from you...」
Zelanus, hearing this, got infuriated. He had already been quite irritated by her since the beginning of their fight.
But this had crossed the line.
He sent eleven deadly magic bullets at her, whilst appearing above her to block her option of dodging.
Rose braced herself for the attack, getting into a fighting stance in preparation for her next action.
She spun around violently as a small but powerful cyclone was formed.
This was not your average cyclone, but one created with the effects of magic.
The cyclone proceeded to swallow Zelanus' magic bullets, forming an energy sphere.
Zelanus was a little impressed seeing the way she managed to deal with such an attack.
He was sure she knew that he wouldn't carelessly strike at her with this, making him go against his initial plan.
It was all a psychological warfare, and the best tactician would reign supreme.
As a spiritual life-form, one's ability to think was a very important factor that decided and separated the strong from the weak.
Their existence is carried by their imagination, solidifying their status as a godlike existence.
Hence, even a mediocre skill like 『Thought Acceleration』was very useful if used efficiently.
With a deadly spin of her blade, the energy sphere was cut through, with a magicule blade flying out to cleave Zelanus.
But such an attack could only do so much to harm Zelanus, or so he thought...
The color of the energy blade turned dark blue, and Zelanus' body was successfully decapitated.
To say he was stunned would definitely be an understatement.
Zelanus: 「I see... You are definitely dangerous. I'll take you seriously now.」
Rose: 「Oh? Finally! I couldn't bear to see you underestimate me so much. I will also take things a little serious now.」
Saying that, the mischievous expression she had was lost, and an expressionless face could be seen on her.
That was when Zelanus saw it, the true threat Rose imposed.
◇◇◇
With Sariel out dealing with Milim, I couldn't help but feel nervous.
He was like the peacekeeper in the group, with his calming presence of reassurance.
Like a very reliable ally.
But as he was not around, I couldn't help but feel nervous and frustrated by the event.
Thinking that the chaos dragon was a pain to deal with, a bigger bug appears out of nowhere.
Coming to think of it, he was called the insectar lord, or so he said.
If that's true, then he must be here to invade the cardinal world.
He must have sensed Veldanava-sama's disappearance. And now, he must be aiming to take over the world or something.
But to do so, he must have a legion with him if I'm correct...
Wait...!!
As soon as that thought crossed my mind, a dimensional crack was formed, leading to the otherworld.
A world full of chaos and destruction.
The same place our lord had sealed the world-destroying dragon at.
As soon as this dimensional crack appeared, thousands of insects swarmed in.
Norana: 「Shit! This isn't good... what the– GAAARGH!!!」
An overwhelming sense of dread struck Norana as she was oppressed by the destructive aura of the world-destroying dragon.
She collapsed to the ground, holding onto her remaining consciousness.
Just how strong has Iverage gotten? She asked as things went south.
The situation was turning from bad to worse.
The chaos dragon regenerated its heavily damaged magic circuits, devouring the insectars that came its way to replenish lost energy.
In this process, it got stronger than it initially was.
The insectars began to cause destruction on a large scale.
Some even headed to the human nations, with the intent to cause destruction.
There were even some intelligent insectars that had fled to the empire of Silverion, aiming to cause havoc and weaken the defense of the empire.
Seeing all this happen in one go, her frustration only pilled up.
This is not good. I don't know how Sariel would react to this piece of information.
He already has a lot in his hands by dealing with Milim.
I don't know if it would be a good idea to inform him about this.
From her perception range, Dino, Pico, Garcia, and Lunax have already started dealing with the thousands of insectars that came out of the dimensional gate
With enough time given, they would be able to take care of it.
Norana: 「I have to deal with the chaos dragon before it gets too strong for me.」
With her next plan of action decided, she made the first step.
She decided to send a 『Thought Communication』message to Sariel.
——— Sariel-sama! ———
——— Don't worry. I've already sent reinforcement for it. Just continue dealing with the chaos dragon. They will handle the rest. ———
——— Alright! ———
With that, the communication link was cut as soon as it was formed.
Norana: 「Ah~ He was already two steps ahead of us all.」
She was happy to have a reliable ally like Sariel.
It was during moments like these that she never regretted her decision to serve him.
She went towards the chaos dragon as she prepared to attack it.
Sensing the hostile intention of Norana, the chaos dragon turned its attention to her.
And with a loud roar, a destructive miasma wave was released.
Its roar caused space vibrations to spread out rapidly, and with the corrosive energy wave sent at her, it was like an unavoidable blast.
But she had long discarded the option of holding back.
Norana: 「*Sigh* Since no one's watching, I might as well stop holding back.」
Saying that, she decided to unleash the might of her second ultimate skill.
The attack released by the chaos dragon landed on her squarely, causing loud explosions that shook the foundation of the shattered earth.
A bright dark light enveloped the atmosphere, a blinding radiation that seemed to absorb the light surrounding them.
The aftereffects of the attack were nothing short of disastrous.
The land just below them was completely ravaged, depriving it of its initial beauty.
The dark miasma that was released earlier began to suck the life force of all the living things on the ground.
It is safe to say that the earth is now a desolate scrap of land, clinging on to the remaining life it held.
The chaos dragon, seeing the destruction it caused, roared in satisfaction before turning its figure to leave.
But it was not over yet. No, it was all just starting.
Norana: 「A mistake on your end chicken wings.」
Saying that, she filled her blade with her holy ki, enhancing its effects with the use of her Administrative Authority.
One may ask how I survived such an attack.
It's simple, my second ultimate skill did the trick.
I had long analysed the effects of the chaos dragon's attacks.
With that, my subskill was used.
With this ultimate ability, I could bless myself with divine protection, making me resistant to anything I had analysed thoroughly.
As long as the effect and information of the attack were known, it is easy to rewrite one's composition to become resistant to any attack.
That was how she managed to survive such an attack.
Channeling her energy towards the chaos dragon, a white light beam escaped her blade, hitting the dragon on the wing.
This attack was not meant to harm or weaken it, but to make it lose its balance.
She was successful in that as the chaos dragon began to fall to the ground.
It had no idea how to use flight magic, making its authority over the sky quite limited.
That was not its fault as it had no experience in magic and only knew how to fight with its innate abilities.
During its fall, she began to compress spiritrons in the atmosphere into a singular energy sphere.
The energy sphere she had in her palm became denser and denser until it started releasing sparks of lightning, showcasing its density in terms of energy.
Norana: 「『Divine Solar Break』.」
Imbued with the properties of her ultimate skill, she cast this energy ball towards the falling dragon.
Sensing the danger behind the assault, the chaos dragon released an energy blast from its mouth, sending it towards the attack heading its way.
But to its surprise, the energy sphere passed through its breath attack like a blade through butter, making its way toward it.
The attack connected, and a huge but controlled explosion ensued.
The blast's radius was not big enough to cover the entirety of the chaos dragon, but it was filled with super dense energy with the power to erase spiritrons.
This was the property of her holy energy.
Normally, holy magic requires a contract between a Holy Spirit or a god.
As long as one could manipulate spiritrons, the individual could act as a god.
To be able to use holy magic, it is important for the being to form a pact with a God or be a god themselves.
With the "Power of Faith," it is possible to turn their strong thought or feeling into power, making it accessible to even monsters and demons alike.
If a pact is formed between the god and the believer, the believer can use their God's name as a medium to open a soul-based network between them, offering mana at the cost of the god's assistance.
To her, since her belief, hope, and devotion were given to Sariel, he was the supposed god.
There would be no way for him to assist so many people at once.
This would normally be a major issue, but he could simply link together with his subordinates, borrowing the cumulative computational prowess of his millions of believers, thereby sharing the burden of putting the magic together.
This line of followers not only included the demons, but some humans like the otherworlders and the people of Silverion, whose population was over five million.
That alone was already overkill.
Combined with the tens of millions of demons inhibiting hell, it is safe to say the computational capability he wielded was beyond comprehension.
He also had the faith of almost all the humans in the cardinal world in his palm.
That would make the number exceed hundreds of millions.
If he were to ever handle the burden alone, he would only die as a result of information manipulation overload.
Since the burden placed on the user is low, the result depends mostly on how much faith the user has in their respective god.
The stronger the believer's faith is, the stronger the connection between the two, and as a result, the stronger the magic becomes.
At this point, it would be foolish to doubt the level of faith Norana, or by extension, any of Sariel's subordinates had in him.
This system was established by Sariel with the help of Wise Sage, to be known as the "Secret of Faith and Grace."
The effect of the attack was instantaneous, and the chaos dragon felt it.
A pain so unbearable, it screamed in retaliation.
It was at this moment that she unleashed the might of her ultimate ability.
Norana: 「"Imprison all evil spirits, and seal all unwanted forces" 『Luciel』!!」
And with a final victory roar, the chaos dragon, which had terrorized the lands for days, was sealed.
Norana: 「*Sigh* That dragon really made me a little serious. But it was fun.」
Saying that, she smiled and collapsed to the ground.
Norana: 「I've done my part, Sariel-sama. It's your turn now.」

「Note: Hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Yep! This is the epic change I spoke about.
In the canon, no dimensional crack appeared, and no insectar invaded the world. It's just my imagination running amok.
If you have anything to share about the story, you know where to go. Perhaps a few suggestions here and there. That's also for if you have any question to ask about. Well, that's all the trash I have to say. See yah all!!」
