Mika POV

Jura Forest

I hummed to myself as I traversed through the monster filled forest, with Beru flying close by me.

I had a clear destination in my mind, The Dwelling of the Elementals, a labyrinth that is connected to the Elemental Realm where Fairies and Elementals reside.

Elementals are a race of naturally forming Spiritual life-forms. They reside both in nature as well as the Elemental Realm and often lend their power to people they like if they ask for it.

And that being my primary goal, If possible summon a Greater Water Elemental and form a contract.

I already had a rough idea how that could be both good and bad for me, with Shizu being a good bench mark for how much difference a contract with an elemental could make.

Shizu was hailed as a champion of humanity , commonly known as the Conquerer of Flames, and also was able to fight on somewhat good level against a primordial Daemon.

'I just hope, I am able to summon a greater Elemental who has a tolerable personality.' I recalling the possible downside of this endeavour, Shizu's struggle in controlling Ifrit was a pretty good show of the downside.

'And if all goes well, That will at least give me some power boost, and a way to fight against Daemons.'

"Speaking of all goes well, I was surprisingly easy to convince gramps…"I muttered, a notion on which even Beru nodded.

Flashback

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

Mika turned towards his grandfather, observing his grandfather's words and actions.

"I remember you saying, and I quote "Once you make a decision be prepared to face any consequences that head your way.Take responsibility for your action."" I gave my best impression of Gramps, something that didn't seem to impress him at all.

"And since when did you start paying such attention to my words."

"You wound me with your words."I added a dramatic flare to my words.

"The least you can say is how long you will be gone for? And where you are going?"Gramps snorted at my words, though the care he has was clear.

"For how long? I don't know, probably a few years."I placed everything thing I needed in a makeshift Backpack."As for where I am going, my first destination is the dwelling of spirits."

"Where from then?"

"Haven't really given it thought much about that."

I could tell from gramps tone, he didn't like my idea. From my constant want to grow strong to my desire to leave so early, he didn't like any of those things.

"I still don't get why you are so fixated on strength."Gramps murmured shaking his head.

"It's in our nature to desire strength."I pointed out, while minor it was in our nature to desire strength."Besides I want to be able to live the life I want and die on my own terms, having no regrets whatsoever."

"And for that I need to be strong."

I remembered a major plot point in early cannon, the Orc Disaster incident.A feeling of dread, upcoming disasters, would cloud my heart and mind just picturing myself in the ogres position.

The memory of Gramps saying how Demi-humans were treated also flashed through my mind. The possibility of me and those around me being enslaved just for others convenience always being there.

"Just don't forget you have a home here."

"I won't."

Flashback end

Suddenly Beru, who was flying beside me, came to a halt, catching my attention.

"What's wrong buddy?"I asked the Army Wasp, who seemed to be intently staring toward a narrow opening in this dense forest.

Beru first flew around me, and started pointing towards the same direction, as if saying to investigate something there.

"Fine, I will take a look."I shook my head, as I agreed to his request."You fly over and wait for my signal."

Beru nodding immediately flew toward where he was pointing, waiting for my signal.

I slowly headed towards the direction the Army Wasp pointed, traversing carefully ready for combat if necessary.

As I got near I could someone crying? I quickly scaled the tree in front of me.

"Speak of the devil."I muttered, overlooking the the sight that made my blood boil.

Countless Gozu, Mezu, Rabbit folks and Elves could be seen in chains, some trapped in cages. Many of them even having signs of battle on them.

I could even see some Demi-Human children crying, begging to be set free, all for naught.

"He must have heard their voices."I looked upwards, where my partner's presence was.

It's strange to see someone who would be classified as a monster, show any form of compassion.

"Kyaaa!!"A sudden scream drew my attention, I looked towards the source of the sound to only see a sickening sight.

Not far from the place all the captured and chained Demi-humans were, several grown men were surrounding a young elf girl, bound to a tree, who looked no older than a decade old.

"HaHaHa! If you just relax, we will make you feel real good."One of the men said ripping of her clothes.

"Nooo!Let go of me."The elven girl tried to resist but to no avail.

Having seen enough I leaped off the tree, landing beside the guy that was tearing the cloth.

I swiftly swung my sword, beheading bastard before he could even register what happened.

"What!?"

"How?!?"

Panic soon spread among the men surrounding me and the even girl, the men understanding what just happened rushed at me.

[ Sixth Form: Whirlpool ]

Before they could reach me, I twisted my body using the blade to perform a fierce whirling motion which generating a fierce whirlpool, that shred apart everything around me and the elf.

Pieces of wood and flesh fell as the technique died down, blood covering the land around us.

"Attack!!!" "Kill him!!!"

I saw dozens of men charging at me, weapons in their hands, and a mage in the back chanting a spell.

'They must have come to investigate the sound.'

[ Fourth Form: Striking Tide ]

I dashed at astonishing speeds towards the humans, performing a multitude of slashes in a flowing fashion, rapidly ending the lives of all those that charged at me.

The mage who was still chanting, halted looking at me before running away to possibly inform the others.

Fool.

Rather than following after the mage, I turned around waking towards the elven girl, who was seem to be petrified by what just happened.Leaving the

'Now then what do I say?'
