Chapter 204: Team Rocket’s Second-in-Command! [204]
Luo Yuan stared at the caller ID on his phone, contemplating his decision.
Should he answer?
Or not?
He paused briefly, weighing his options.
But really, there wasn't much to think about.
After all, he had never ignored a call from Sabrina before.
Resolutely, Luo Yuan pressed the answer button, raising the phone to his ear with a calm expression.
"Hello? … Got it. I'll bring it to you right away," Luo Yuan said.
Apparently, Sabrina had left her bag at the hotel in her rush to leave earlier. She wanted Luo Yuan to bring it to her later.
Beside him, Misty glanced curiously at Luo Yuan as he spoke on the phone. A flicker of doubt crossed her face—she could've sworn she heard a woman's voice on the other end.
When Luo Yuan finally hung up, Misty couldn't hold back her curiosity.
"Who was that?" she asked.
"...Here it comes."
Luo Yuan had anticipated this question ever since learning a month ago that both Misty and Sabrina would be attending the Indigo League.
From a purely self-serving perspective, Luo Yuan could have said it was "just a psychic friend."
But Luo Yuan wasn't the kind of person who cowered or second-guessed his actions.
Looking Misty directly in the eyes, he answered candidly, "The person on the phone? Sabrina—the Gym Leader of Saffron City."
"Sabrina?"
As a fellow Kanto Gym Leader, Misty naturally knew of Sabrina.
If Cerulean Gym was considered the bottom tier of Kanto's Gyms, then Saffron Gym was undoubtedly at the top.
Not only was Saffron Gym financially stronger and exempt from performance reviews, but Sabrina herself was also far more beautiful than Misty.
A sudden sense of unease bubbled within Misty.
She wanted to ask about Luo Yuan's relationship with Sabrina. But seeing his composed demeanor made her question whether she was overthinking things.
If she asked outright, it might come across as distrustful, and she didn't want that.
Noticing Misty's hesitation, Luo Yuan felt a sense of relief.
While he had managed to deflect this time, he knew the issue wasn't truly resolved.
This was like a ticking time bomb.
"If I don't deal with this, it's only a matter of time before it blows up in my face."
The Indigo Plateau wasn't that big. Sabrina and Misty were bound to cross paths sooner or later.
As Luo Yuan mulled over his predicament, his communicator buzzed with an incoming message.
When he checked it, his heart sank.
The message was from Sabrina:
"I know everything~"
Attached was a photo of Luo Yuan and Misty at the airport.
"Crap..."
Sabrina was at the airport too!
Realizing he'd been caught, Luo Yuan froze in place.
He immediately used his psychic powers to scan for Sabrina's location but found nothing.
Another message came through:
"Don't bother looking. I saw you through the security cameras. Cheating on me, are you? We'll have a proper 'talk' later 😊."
Reading this, Luo Yuan finally understood how she had found out.
As part of the Indigo League's security team, it was perfectly normal for Sabrina to have access to the surveillance feeds.
To be honest, Luo Yuan was a bit nervous.
He had no idea what Sabrina's "talk" would entail.
But on the bright side, her tone didn't suggest she was completely furious.
Based on his understanding of Sabrina, if she were truly angry beyond reconciliation, her message wouldn't have sounded so playful.
This was likely due to Sabrina already being aware of Misty's existence through Matori.
In any case, Sabrina's attitude gave Luo Yuan a glimmer of hope.
It also served as a wake-up call: some things couldn't be postponed any longer, or they'd only become messier.
"Whew... might as well take this opportunity to settle everything," Luo Yuan muttered under his breath.
Noticing Misty's puzzled expression, Luo Yuan put his phone away and exhaled deeply.
Then he turned to her and said, "Come with me for a bit."
His words were more of a statement than a question, delivered with a commanding air that left Misty blinking in surprise.
She nodded absentmindedly, following Luo Yuan as he led the way to the hotel.

Indigo Plateau
In a private room at an upscale café, Luo Yuan, Sabrina, and Misty sat in a triangular formation around a round table.
The atmosphere was... complicated.
Sabrina sat calmly, cradling her Eevee, gently stroking its head. A faint smile played on her lips, as if nothing had happened.
Misty, on the other hand, kept glancing between Sabrina and Luo Yuan.
Though it was her first time meeting Sabrina, she could instinctively sense that their relationship wasn't ordinary.
Looking at Sabrina's beauty and poise, Misty couldn't help but feel inadequate in comparison.
The room remained silent for over ten minutes, the tension palpable.
Finally, Luo Yuan broke the silence.
After taking a sip of coffee, he set his cup down and looked at both women.
"If you have questions, just ask," he said, his voice steady.
There was no point in dodging anymore.
"What... is your relationship with Sabrina?" Misty asked first.
"She's my girlfriend."
"Then what about me?"
"You're also my girlfriend."
Misty's eyes welled up with emotion. "But... I was first..."
She muttered softly, her voice tinged with grievance.
The idea of sharing her boyfriend was hard to swallow.
Sabrina chuckled lightly at Misty's remark.
Running her fingers through Eevee's fur, she said, "Let me correct you. I met Luo Yuan four years ago."
Misty's jaw dropped in shock.
So she was the later one?
The realization hit her hard. She had thought her "first come, first serve" advantage might even the playing field against Sabrina's overwhelming beauty and talent.
But now, her disadvantage felt even greater.
Still, not all was lost. Somehow, knowing the truth lifted a weight off her shoulders, and her mood improved slightly.
As Misty processed this, Sabrina spoke again.
"So, Luo Yuan, who will you choose between the two of us?"
Her question was sharp, cutting straight to the heart of the matter.
Misty perked up, her gaze fixed on Luo Yuan, waiting for his answer.
Under the intense scrutiny of both women, Luo Yuan felt his head throb.
Choose?
Only a child would make a choice—an adult would want both!
Of course, saying that outright would get him killed.
Clearing his throat, Luo Yuan opted for a more diplomatic approach.
"Ahem... actually, I don't think there's any need for this conflict. You're both indispensable parts of my life—my wings!"
