Chapter 47: Human Conspiracy
Alan pulled Abraham into the tavern.
After temporarily placing him in a corner by the bar counter, the customers in the tavern were all very curious.
Who was this person that Alan pulled in?
The customers discussed in low voices. When Abraham heard them, he felt as if there was a knife stabbing his back.
Seeing that Abraham was a little restless sitting on the chair, Alan comforted him softly.
"Don't worry. Everyone is very nice, they are just unfamiliar with you, so they are curious."
As he spoke, Alan shouted at the people who were discussing.
"Everyone, focus on your drinks. Stop discussing. This gentleman is a little shy."
The chattering in the bar instantly quieted down. After a while, everyone started talking again.
"We got it. Little Alan, go do your own thing."
"Hey, brother, don't mind us. We're just curious. We don't mean any harm."
After everyone heard Alan, they apologized and the atmosphere was lively again.
Abraham also secretly heaved a sigh of relief. Even till now, he still did not know what the young man in front of him wanted to do.
Alan took out his dinner from under the bar counter. It was a simple bowl of rye noodles, but the meat inside was very substantial.
He divided the noodles into two portions and pushed one bowl in front of Abraham.
Alan picked up the other bowl and ate it himself.
"Hurry up and eat, this is my dinner."
Seeing Alan slurping the noodles, Abraham swallowed his saliva. In his heart, he was desperately trying to convince himself, "He brought out the food in front of me, and he ate it as well. Even if he did poison it, he still ate it..."
"Hurry up and eat. There's no need to be embarrassed. I used to have a life like yours. It was uncertain and I was always worried about my next meal."
"But now my life is good. I have my own tavern and I can eat my fill. You see, a person like me can stand up again, you can definitely do it as well, it'll probably be easier for you than it was for me."
Under the cloak, Abraham's face was stunned, and faint tears were flashing in his eyes.
"Little Alan, I'm here. Hurry up and serve me some wine."
Wayne's loud voice came from outside the door. Alan quickly ate the remaining food in the bowl, then stuffed the empty bowl under the counter and ran to serve the guests.
"Just sit here and eat. Everyone in the tavern is very nice."
Alan smiled and went to the side to fetch some wine for Wayne.
In the corner of the bar counter, all that remained was a bowl of noodles and a lonely figure that did not fit in.
Abraham was still guessing in his mind. What exactly was this enigmatic young man planning?
Could it be that he was planning to turn me and use my evil ruler title to counterattack the Abyss!?
At the thought of this, Abraham's face was filled with shock.
He lowered his head and his gaze fell on the bowl of noodles on the table. The dark noodles, coupled with the brightly colored meat, greatly increased his appetite.
Abraham frowned. He could not figure out the young man's enigmatic actions. He was confused and conflicted.
"Little Alan, who's that over there?"
Mister Wayne pointed at Abraham who was eating noodles in the corner and asked.
"It's probably that strange man that Mister Dorje mentioned yesterday. I think he's quite pitiful. He was squatted by the roadside and didn't have anything to eat for a whole day, so I brought him here. He's not a bad person, don't worry."
Mister Wayne came here on his own today. Alan explained to him as he poured him a high-level magic Lafite.
Wayne looked at the naive young man and couldn't help but sigh in his heart.
"You, don't always think too well of others. Not everyone is as kind as you."
Wayne took a sip of wine and softly lectured.
Alan knew that the other party was only worried about him, so he didn't refute him. He just smiled and nodded in agreement.
Wayne knew that he didn't take his words to heart, and he couldn't help but sigh.
But this was what people liked about Alan. This innocent young man was kind and sincere.
Wayne had made up his mind a long time ago. In the future, as long as he was still alive, he would protect this young man. He would not let anyone hurt him.
In the corner, Abraham couldn't resist the temptation of the meat in front of him. No matter what the young man was thinking, he had to fill his stomach first so that he could continue to deal with him.
After eating his fill, he finally had the intention to observe the tavern.
Previously, all his attention was on the young man and the food, so he did not pay any attention to the tavern. Now that he looked at it, it was surprised.
Was that a wall lamp on the wall? But how was this lamp shining by itself?
And the cups on the tables, were they made of crystals?
What kind of divine skill did it take to carve the fragile crystal into such a thin and transparent state?
And the wine bottles, the strangely shaped vessels, the crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling, the rich aroma of wine...
Everything in the tavern shocked Abraham.
In the Abyss, crystals were rare ornaments. Even the Demon King's youngest and most favorite daughter only received a small crystal pendant at the age of ten.
All the ornaments in the tavern were luxurious and precious.
The more he observed the more Abraham felt that this tavern was the perfect place to set up a stronghold in the human world for the demon clan. The Demon King would be satisfied with such luxurious decorations.
When he thought of how satisfied the Demon King would be when he visited the human world and saw the place he selected to be the stronghold, he couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Hey, are you full? Do you want to have a drink?"
Alan finished his tasks at hand and returned to the bar counter to ask.
Abraham was so scared that he stopped breathing.
"Hahaha..." Alan suddenly burst into laughter when he saw this.
Abraham looked at him in puzzlement.
"I didn't do it on purpose. You're funny. Why are you so easily scared?"
Alan was very surprised at how much this man was afraid of conversing with others. Not only so, but this man was also sensitive, timid, and easily frightened.
While Abraham was still thinking, Alan decided for him.
"I'll give you a glass of whiskey first. I believe you'll like it."
Alan pushed a glass with a large square block of ice in front of him and poured the amber-colored liquor from the bottle into the glass.
The first thing that came in contact with his nose was an alcohol fragrance that rushed straight to his brain, followed closely by a strong wheat fragrance.
"Guest, please enjoy."
Alan lifted the mouth of the bottle, indicating that he could taste it.
Abraham reached out his hand and held the transparent cup with whiskey in it, which had also turned into an amber color. He picked up the cup and carefully observed it. He found that the material of this cup was different from the material on the window.
He put the cup under his nose and took a deep breath. It was such a mesmerizing aroma.
Abraham could not help but pour all the whiskey into his mouth.
Alan did not have time to stop him. Abraham's face instantly turned red. After a while, he slowly swallowed the wine in his mouth.
Before Alan could speak, he started coughing violently.
When the customers in the tavern saw this, they slammed the table and laughed loudly. Mister Wayne's table laughed especially loud...
"Hahaha... hahaha"
"This kid fell for it."
"Such a good drink, those who can resist and not drink it are gods."
..
Listening to everyone's unbridled laughter, Alan smiled. He recalled all the scenes in which his guests drank whiskey for the first time, they were not much different from this stranger now.
It was just that Alan was unwilling to expose them.
