Chapter 27: Moon Rose
Jack was in a car heading towards the Gagnnok's mansion. A place he did not want to set foot on. He watched through the window like he still was pondering on wether he should go on with his plans or not.
The driver drove far because the mansion wasn't located at main town.
Still watching through the window, Jack saw the man make a stop in front of huge gates.
"Here it is, Sir," said the diver. "The Logman's property."
Jack came down and handed over cash to the driver. "Keep the change." he said.
Steering towards the gates, he saw two guards stationed outside their usual post. One of them looked at him as if he didn't live here anymore. As though he was a stranger. It made Jack feel insulted as he hissed, making his way forcefully through them.
The gates were opened and he continued to stride into the house. He looked around for his father, walking down the hallways buy heard something amiss.
It was coming from downstairs.
Jack gingerly took one feet after the other as he desired to know what was going on. He kept on walking and the yells; which he had previously heard grew louder. Curiosity rose in Jack as he pressed down a lamp which was the key to a secret passage below his father's chambers.
Going nigh the dungeon-like-room, Jack's back plastered on the wall as he twisted his neck to discover what was occuring.
This room; he had found out about it years back when he was younger. This was where his father held serious secret meetings and also trained newly turned werewolves. Jack had uncovered this restricted area of the house in a sneaky and skillful manner.
Jack witnessed men in black suits lined up like a group of cult members and a boy hung in chains. The boy was clothed but seemed fierce and tired at the same time.
Imagine a dark place with sany soil and brick-interlocked walls with chains. A man with a black hat and a black trench coat also stayed at the middle— he seemed as if the leader.
But Jack's father was there to.
'Who's that man?' a whisper in his thoughts.
"This boy doesn't know anything." said the man a the front whom resembled a well respected interrogator. His voice was low and seemed as though he thought well before speaking. "Perhaps he's forgotten or actually dosen't know."
"What are you doing here?" Charles asked Jack whom flinched by his entrance. His dark eyes questioned. He was obviously startled by the Beta. "You know the Alpha would kill you seeing you here."
Charles used wolf speed to get out of the underground prison and so did Jack.
"I wanted to speak with my father."
"Then book a meeting."
"With my father." Jack repeated as though he didn't hear the first time.
Charles wrinkled his forehead as if he was thinking. "How's you and Clarissa?"
Realizing, he replied, "Very cool. But you know what's cooler? My father's heart. How he deny me of access to my own money?"
"His money actually."
Shaking his head while making a face, Jack replied, "What's the difference? See, I have a standard to keep and I cannot afford to be-" The secret wall opened making a noise. "F-father."
A dark cloud hovered as Mr. Loggman glared, taking confident strides. "What are you doing in my house?" His feel voice interrogated. The Alpha muttered, "I sensed noise and it always has to be you."
"Alpha, I need to speak to you." He remained humbled in all areas; voice, gesture and if there were more a perfect 100 would be the score.
Mr. Loggman sighed, making way into his office chambers. His doors opened wide the same time detective Rowe came out of the concealed passage.
Jack followed his father after sensing that he wanted him to come in.
Now in, he shut the doors and carefully went to where his father was.
"Seat. Standing up dosen't make you less disrespectful."
Jack heaved a sigh for that one.
"What are you here for?"
"I noticed I can't make a withdrawal," his father's eyes squinted. "I went to the bank and when I tried withdrawing, I was told a… I thought perhaps you had a hand it since they told me a upper hand.." Jack gulped. He didn't know how to go on with this.
Comprehending his son's complaint, the Alpha said, "Yes, I'm aware because I initiated the act. I instructed the bankers to restrict your access to any of the accounts due your impudence," He continued working on his files. Alpha Loggman's unfriendly chill voice inquired, "Any questions?"
Fear gripped Jack more. Of course a day would come when he had to earn his own money. He knew living like a leach wouldn't last him but he wasn't ready. Yes, he wanted to go down on his knees and beg his father, but he knew that wouldn't work.
"No sir," Jack bowed his head, withholding his thoughts. He didn't need anyone to tell him to stand up before quickly rising up. A thunderous bellow would've woken him up from his sleep.
Jack left his father's office as there was nothing he could do. On his way to the mansion's gate, he encountered the man in Black and Charles talking.
Jack was very angry at the fact he was now broke. He was so poor that he couldn't even afford to go to pubs anymore or even stay at a hotel. With this in mind, he angry stormed out of the mansion but was called by a familiar voice,
"Jack! Come say hello to detective Rowe." Hollered Beta Charles.
Jack squeezed his face at the call.
"Who the hell is that?" He wanted to leave with no interruption. He had a lot on his mind. It seemed as though an unfortunate rain poured on him throughout this season.
The man in black, Rowe, had a toothpick by the side of his mouth. He was dressed in his black coat. He tutted at the young fellow's disrespectful words. "Best be on my way. Wouldn't want another word from that spoilt wreck." Muttered Rowe.
Rowe was on the verge of going but Charles held him back. Charles plead on his behalf, "Please, mate. It's about his girlfriend."
Rowe paused his movement and Jack too became interested. Did he mean Lyya?
"You mean Lyya?" Jack asked with desperation, knowing fully well she was no longer his girlfriend but he had so much connection with her.
Rowe mentioned, "Oh, so now you beg like a doggy," He repositioned the toothpick to the middle of his mouth.
"Please sir, is there anything I need to know about her…?"
"Oh, save it. The gentleman's grace here covers you. What do you need me to tell him, Charlie?"
Jack would've scoffed at the nickname but this was a serious atmosphere and the detective-looking guy in his front seemed pissed already by his annoying behaviour.
Charles went on, "Lyya just newly transformed and would be needing help. She could die since she isn't a born wolf and wasn't initiated at the Reveal and Ritual. She needs help from the Good Mother and also the moon rose."
Rowe added, "Moon rose? Heard that's rare in this season if not extinct by now."
Jack wanted to plead but Charles raised a finger to mute him. Charles went on, "I'm sure a man like you know where to get a moon rose this season."
Detective Rowe granted Jack a glance and saw how pitiable Jack looked. He was reluctant at first, but seeing his mate here would beg him for this information just for this disrespectful Alpha's son, he concurred.
"Hmm.. Whatever. But you need to be more respectful boy. I believe there's a village that may have it but located in another city. It's a bit far from here so you need to travel quick. They are rumoured to still have few Moon roses left by this time but Lyya would need to undergo some trials before being allowed to get them as it's sacred to the tribe. [Name of real village], that's the name. If you move now with wolfs speed, you'll be lucky to be granted one. That's if they have it."
Jack appreciated, "Thank you so much good sir."
Rowe played with his toothpick in his mouth. "Don't mention it."

I her house.
"Aaaha!" Miss Lyya screamed out loudly as she felt a throbbing pain. She heard a really high-pitched ringing noise in her head, making her collapse on the floor.
She could feel her bones twist. In shock and fear, she stared at her hands, which had visible veins popping up.
The hairs on her arm all went up, and she could feel her phalanges bend, and finger nails grow, slowly transforming into something she thought looked like claws.
She could feel her teeth gnash uncontrollably. She lost so much strength, but still had to produce strength to fight the pain she was feeling.
The movement of her spine was as if it was twisting into something shapeless-it was.
As her screams went up higher, miss Daise rushed on hearing it.
"Goodness gracious!" Exclaimed the lady in shock as she set her eyes on her.
Lyya felt like each attempt she made to ease the pain by just breathing, the pain just felt worse. She rolled on the floor, stiffling her groan.
"What's happening to me?" she asked herself. She grew unconscious…. She was dying and Miss Raise was there witnessing this.
