Tales from the Moon: Dragon Legends

Chapter 9: IX. Knowing Limits

After spending the night in a cave, nothing was better than the smell of the meat of a two-headed lamb to start the morning. That's what Alexandra thought asleep enjoying that delicious smell that invaded her nose, she believed that perhaps her new ally had sought breakfast for both of them. Slowly opening her eyes she realizes that she was tied up again and gagged in the middle of a table with a feast. She quickly looks around trying to understand how the hell she ended up like this, again she began to panic because of how helpless she felt, again she trusted a dragon and again betrayed her, that's why he did not poison her, he wanted to eat her with his companions, and enjoy the flesh of an idiot human.

"Wow the sleeping beauty woke up" Ssaull said while he was stealing the dragons that were unconscious on the table, he sees how the girl fidgets and makes sounds looking at him angrily. He approaches her and with a knife putting his hand on her cheek "Listen first and then answer, I know this looks very bad, but if you swear on your honor not to scream and run I will free you; I will also explain that I pass here, only if you swear to me. " The girl nods and Ssaull with a smile removes the gag and with her knife cuts the bonds.

"What happened?" was the first thing she whispered, she was worried that they had both been ambushed while they slept.

"Um, yes that" he passes his hand behind his head "what if we better go first and then I'll tell you, at any moment they can get up and I won't be able to fight with this bag on my back" the girl sees that he dragon wore a large sack as he claimed. She in the end she did not say anything because upon hearing the snoring of one of the dragons both she and Ssaull run quickly and without making noise to be in a safe place both.

Ssaull with his tail guided the human through what seemed to be a center full of markets and shops of all kinds, mostly run by the skeletal race of dragons, Alexandra was afraid of being surrounded by so many dragons of a race that she hardly knew, and not to be worse having to depend on one who tried to rob him in the past and gave his person and pride a good beating. The dragon next to her enters what looked like a walking tent with four horses and with a strange sound emitted by it, those animals begin to move to transport them to another place. The blue dragon throws the sack aside and laughs happily at everything he got from those dragons, those had good things to sell or exchange and now they were all from Ssaull feeling more than proud of himself he sits in a more comfortable seat and elegant to relax, or that would have been your plan until you see the annoyed face of your new travel companion.

"And that face?" he looks at Alexandra disapproving with her eyes of his attitude.

"I want you to explain to me how we ended up from a damp and cold cave, to a place with dragons that looked like they were going to eat me." she frowns more showing that she really was very angry.

"Ah that," he settles in his seat to be better prepared "I sold you as food for them, and since you are something unusual, the very idiots paid too much for you" he dodges a knife that the human had thrown at him.

"What's wrong with you?! ¡I thought you were going to help me and now it turns out that I am a product that you can sell whenever you want!" she was more than prepared to attack him without caring about anything, even losing in combat. This type of offense towards her was not going to forgive, but the dragon did not seem even worried and much less interested in the threat that was in front of him.

"Listen pretty, yes, I sold you and I understand that that looks terribly bad. However, when you woke up, you could see that nothing bad happened to you, you even found me at the place with you"

The girl changes her expression to a calmer one remembering that she was indeed curiously fine despite the terrible surprise of waking up as dragon food.

"Okay, it's not okay to sell yourself to desperately hungry dragons for something better than bugs and rotten meat, even though they had some good lamb meat on that table, it was the only delicious and decent thing to eat." She takes some meat out of the bag and passes a piece to the girl. "But don't worry dear, Ssaull will never leave you alone, I put the stench of certain plants and fungi that are capable of temporarily knocking down a skeletal dragon and with the tracking spell it was easy to find you a second time, look on the bright side we have many valuable things and some capital for both of them. Of course, seventy percent goes to me since I was the genius who got them, thinking about it a little better, I think eighty-five percent is better for me. "

The dragon notices how the girl crosses her arms, looking at him annoyed again, you could tell that she was not happy at all.

"Stealing is bad, and more so if you know that it is your own people, your own race. Don't you feel empathy for yours?" After asking, the girl watches Ssaull shrug her shoulders, unable to feel remorse for stealing from them.

"You know what humans say, thief who robs thief has a hundred years of forgiveness" the girl makes a confused face for not understanding said expression "You know, it is very popular among your people" the girl tilts her head confused "Are you sure you are human and not a sub species of this? I remember reading something about you They came from the monkeys, how crazy humans are inventing strange things of their origin haha "the blue dragon moves to the driver's seat to see the route that the horses were taking and make sure that nothing dangerous was in the way.

Alexandra takes a quick look around her, being a mobile store, there was not much space to observe so it would not take long, she could see among unnecessary junk and things that could be considered as valuables. It was rare to be in that dragon's tent and certainly after her "incredible" awakening, the girl did not seem very convinced to continue her journey with him. She manages to see a box that she had written on a parchment that said 'Human things' drawing her attention, she takes it to open it and see what those things were.

"Why do these human girls wear little armor or clothing? Are they not worried about being easy targets for attack?" upon hearing that Ssaull stops paying attention to the road and quickly turns to see what the human was touching and seeing. "The strange writing they use on this parchment is weird, but the drawing is incredible it almost seems like a window to another part of the world."

The dragon is scared to see how Alexandra treated her treasure, she took it with little delicacy and if she damaged it, his soul would escape from his body.

"Watch out for that '98 swimsuit magazine!" he quickly snatches it from the human's hands and checks that nothing had happened to the object. "This magazine is one of the few published copies of swimsuits for models and famous people, according to my sources this magazine is worth a lot of money and must be in perfect condition" when turning to scold the human the dragon lets out a small cry to the Seeing her with a popular branded phone in hand, which was still in its original box, is more terrified than ever worrying "Stop girl, stop touching my valuables!" he jumps to stop her, but she turns to see him dodge to find another object.

"What a curious object to be human" she commented, intrigued, looking more closely at the object of her interest until she accidentally touches a button turning it on, she gets scared and throws it away. Luckily Ssaull uses her tail to save the object "What the heck is that?" she watches worried that this thing has done something to her.

Before saying something, he observes her annoyed for almost ruining the rare and valuable objects that he treasured with love.

"If you stop touching my things and especially throwing them away, I assure you that we will both enjoy the trip better" he says as he puts everything in her boxes and this time closes them with a padlock.

"But what are those things? And why are they human?" her curiosity was very strong even though the dragon saw her threatening.

"Calm down Ssaull, she is a fifteen year old girl, at that age they tend to be irritating until humans mature" he repeated internally trying not to hurt her, he takes a deep breath to relax his nerves and turns to look at the human "These things my dear and beautiful traveling companion, they are my most precious and little known treasures in all the kingdoms of the dragons, they are worth more to me than ten or even twenty titles of Greater Dragon, you understand. to this carriage and I will return you to Rulliam "threatening sentence him. "You should learn about one's limits, maybe that will save you from your own stupidity." saying that, he is knocked down by her seeing her angry face towards him.

"Limits you say huh. Speaking of which, you must learn that selling someone who trusts you as food just to steal your customers and almost traumatize her is a limit that should not be crossed" she replies, the dragon wags his tail to knock her down to that he could get up, now placing himself on top of her with his feet on the human's chest so that she wouldn't get up.

"Excuse me, you resentful crybaby, you were also never in danger. I am very efficient in my rescues and searches, but if you damage my things, not even a Great Dragon will save you from my fury." he watches as the human girl pulls out a Swiss army knife, managing to free the part that the dragon was concerned about, the knife. She nails it in the dragon's feet who lets out a loud cry "Daughter of your lizard mother!".

She stands up to confront the annoying dragon.

"Respect my mother, she is a dragon, not a fucking lizard!"

She lunges at him, they both fought like little children, until Ssaull got tired of the nonsense and wrapped his tail of bones around her and kept her upside down. The human takes the razor from one of her feet and then points it at his face to hurt him.

"Very good, I am a skilled negotiator and I can come to an agreement with you before I reconsider leaving you and not look back. I will not use you again as bait for my robberies or deceptions and you do not touch my things, especially those that are human in nature. It's a deal? "

"It's not fair, if they are human things I have the right to see them!" she exclaimed trying to free herself from her tail. The dragon, reluctant to continue this discussion, moves by sticking out its tail with the human outside the window, she after seeing that they were near a cliff, screams in fear of falling to death "Okay, okay, nothing to touch your human things, I accept the deal! " she is forcefully thrown towards the floor of the store, Ssaull meanwhile healing the wound on his feet from the stab the human had done to him.

One thing was clear to the human girl, although the blue dragon did not kill her or try to eat her, it was also really dangerous as any enemy she might face. She was regretting having to travel with him, but not enough to abandon him, she still depended in a way on his help; she just hoped the trip back to Shairum wasn't so long for her. In spite of everything, a part of her made her very curious about everything that dragon knew about the human species, the way he spoke about him, the objects and the way he seemed to know more about humans than she did, just It caused the girl to be more intrigued and curious about it, however she very much doubted getting something useful from him.
