Chapter 20: XX. Codes and Principles
The hordes of the undead had been finished as well as the archers who had disguised themselves to fight alongside the zombies, even though they had new putrid servants to serve these skeletal dragons, the scene of the battle was clear to them. The battle was lost.
The earth dragon was upset and disappointed by how all this attack turned out, so many deaths, explosions, and working with dead and skeletons for nothing; the human was still alive and did not seem at all to agonize or desperate for a sudden betrayal by her allies. He wondered what was wrong with the dragons in her group, even if there were no mercenaries paid to kill her, the dragons must have left the human alone long before the fight against the zombies began.
"Well semi-zombies it seems that the plan did not turn out as we expected, you know what this failure means"
The skeletal dragons reacted with fear to such words, the group consisted of only five defenseless females against a terrible warrior who could easily kill them. They could not do anything against him, not even the anesthetic gases that they could exhale had effect against him, that terrestrial dragon turned out to be one of the lucky few who were born immune to the effects of those gases that mostly gave advantages to skeletal dragons.
Those females only had to take care of the zombies by order of that male dragon, they did not know that there would be consequences for failing. in the mission as such.
"Do you want me to do the honors?"
The dragon begins to feel strange, out of nowhere his body felt rigid, unable to move him to his freedom. He wondered why he could no longer move, in that a red terrestrial dragon, she brings her snout to his ear whispering a few words to them which caused his gaze to look more lost, his pupils dilated and the dragon stopped talking o looking nervous, he seemed lacking in will now.
"You can go now, don't worry if anyone has to pay for this defeat, it will be this wretch; three dragons will escort you to a haven in Rulliam. Go now before Sur'Xhe and the others arrive, one of the archers just left. see how they are getting closer here and it will be better if they don't see us together "
The skeletal dragons nod and run to some horses that were with two terrestrial dragons and one-winged, these would serve as escorts for the females, meanwhile the terrestrial female approaches the dragon that was immobile and without apparent will.
"You must hurt me, but avoid lethality and make sure you kill anyone but the orange dragon of the oceanic race, if you can't kill the human at least that idiot could do it"
The dragon obeys without complaints or problems, drawing his sword, he begins to cut and hit the female of the terrestrial dragons so that she appears to be badly injured, but alive. Now he awaits the arrival of the Morkhex warriors, his expression seemed blank, no emotion was present and he did not seem to be the same due to what they had whispered to him. However that did not seem to matter much, the puppets should not think or feel, for which it was only necessary that they be good warriors and die if it was necessary for the ideals of the great Rellix.
"¡Look, he must be responsible!" SurXhe pointed the enemy to his companions.
"He's alone, that means he'll be easy to kill!" another warrior highlighted.
"Help ..." said the earth dragon raising her arm with great difficulty.
Sur'Xhe notices her injured companion and sends two of her own to help her, Alexandra shoots the few arrows they had left to try to damage the enemy or limit their mobility, but she does not give any due to the speed and way of dodging this. Commander Sur'Xhe manages to clash his sword with the enemy's shield and dodges his attacks as well, the two dragons began to heal the wounds and take care of the poor wounded warrior, two more of the warriors joined the fight to support your commander. Terrible decision, this when noticing an opportunity throws fireballs and when they dodged them they were crossed by the sword of this terrible adversary, killing them, showing that he was not a simple warrior.
Commander Sur'Xhe gives signals to his other two allies who were still to fight, Alexandra draws her sword and takes an end of The Colaza of the Moon in case she needs to use it to fight, when the dragon could see the human quickly heading to kill her with his sword, despite the attacks of the human commander, he managed to block them without interrupting his attack towards his true objective. She barely manages to block the fierce cuts of her enemy receiving a little on the exposed part of her left arm, the enemy attacked with great fury and giving good blows with her sword, for her it was difficult to block those blows, but with the shield that he could activate in both arms and his command of the sword barely managed to continue fighting without serious injuries other than with some cuts.
Both dragons attack taking advantage of the fact that their enemy only focused on the human, although it was a bit tricky to attack from behind, their enemy had given them a window of opportunity that they were not going to miss. They are repelled with the tail of that dragon who refused to be interrupted. The terrestrial dragon and Alexandra collided with their sword trying to exert pressure against the other, only that due to the difference in strength Alexandra was put on her knee trying to maintain her strength in her sword, the dragon was going to end this with the use of direct fire to her face. Before he completed his attack, she purposely threw herself to the ground to be able to use her two-arm shields, that she managed to avoid that attack and with her legs hug the dragon to prevent it from moving, it did not matter if the temperature it was equally high if with this tactic she gave her allies a chance to attack.
"Quick before I kill her!" the dragon ordered "Hold his tail!"
The warrior managed to hold the tail with difficulty due to the force with which his enemy moved him, Sur'Xhe manages to drive his sword into the back of the earth dragon, this managed to interrupt the fire attack by a scream of pain. Alexandra seizes this opportunity and takes her sword and pierces the enemy's throat with a cut; he in response takes from her, removes his sword, and tries to kill her with her last force, she reacts quickly and uses her hand to block the attack at the cost of suffering a great wound there when being pierced by her sword.
"This is for everyone who died tonight!" The commander makes several cuts to the enemy and when the commander's partner felt less force in his enemy's tail, he releases it and cuts it too, finally, Alexandra hits with her free hand to finish defeating and annihilating her enemy.
In the end, the dragon ended up giving in to his wounds collapsing on top of the human crushing her by its great weight, finally, the enemy had been defeated and they only had to hope that the other warriors who survived the attack of the zombies have finished hunting with them.
"We did it?" questions the dragon hoping to have finished with this battle.
"It seems that way, I don't think there are any more enemies nearby, plus I don't see the skeletons that were manipulating the zombies nearby." the dragon takes breaths of air exhausted "We must assume that when threatened with the search party, they had to remove them to avoid losing valuable resources"
"Let's hope they managed to eliminate the zombies"
"Hey, how are you going with Kuriam ?! He asks the other two warriors who tended to the warrior's wounds.
"She is somewhat injured and lost some blood, but she will live like us commander" the warrior replied happily.
"Hear some help!" the dragons notice the human who still had the corpse of a dragon on top of her.
"Excuse me, help me" both dragons begin to lift the human the lifeless body of the enemy together, the other dragon that was on the right side moves the knife with the poison with its tail to kill the human and collect their pay.
The dragon was going to take advantage of everyone's distraction to be able to cut the human, she was also busy moving the corpse away from her to realize by herself, thanks to the relic that the girl had, she warned her of the intentions of your ally. Alexandra reacts and uses the hand of her deceased enemy to block the knife.
"What the hell?!" the dragon pales with fear at the reaction of the human alerting the commander.
"What's going on here ?! Are you okay Alexandra ?!" the dragon pushes her body a little so that the human finishes coming out and being free from the corpse.
"I would like to know the same," she with some pain withdraws the sword from her hand and points it against hers, allied to hers "he tried to attack me with a knife," she says, ready to defend herself against it.
"No no no, you're wrong, I didn't try to hurt you partner"
"So why the attempt to hurt me?" she responds pointing her sword even distrusting her ally.
"Commander Sur'Xhe the human has gone mad, I don't know why she is acting like this" she defends herself trying to divert the truth from them.
The ocean dragon takes the dragon by the shoulders, and with a smile manages to make the dragon male feel relieved.
"Re'llx'as" Sur'Xhe said.
Shortly after reciting those words, the dragon began to shine in his eyes, feeling unable to lie, he was trembling with fear at what this strange spell would mean.
"This is a powerful interrogation spell, very few know it, and still very few master it well, so." with a serious expression he looks at the warrior "Did you try to kill her?"
That warrior writhed in pain trying not to say anything, the magical force forced him to tell the truth, but he refused to do so. This only demonstrated what the human said, there was an attempt to assassinate her, a combat partner wanting to kill one of their own, although Alexandra was human and perhaps another dragon that had been with her would have allowed this type of behavior against a companion, after all, no dragon loves a human being enough to care about his life. Commander Sur'Xhe took very seriously the codes and criteria that forged trust between guild or battle mates, unknowingly the dragon that refused, to tell the truth, was dying inside, the bad part of the spell was that if In a few minutes of being conjured, the victim of this did not tell the truth he died suddenly which happens with him collapsing on the ground trembling until he remains still with his eyes open.
"In the end, you were right Alex, he tried to kill you," Sur'Xhe said with a disappointed look at the corpse.
"Thanks?" she responds, observing in surprise what had happened.
"I know most of us to hate you, they might even let you die on purpose if they get a chance. But in my group no one kills or lets anyone die," he said coldly.
"But wait, what about the dragons we used as shields during the attack in the mist?" she asks her commander.
"They were infected and if you remember, I asked them, don't slaughter them as simple rams to the slaughterhouse. I asked them and gave them the freedom to choose. They sacrificed themselves to give us advantages." He takes a small breath. "I hate enemies who treat their comrades like trash, but I hate those who want to deliberately kill one of their own." reveals the dragon to her. "You are our companion and if I can stop you from dying, I will be you human or dragon."
"Commander"
"Commander Sur'Xhe, we can now take Kuriam with us, she is unconscious from the medicines, but all is well for now." reports the dragon being congratulated by his commander.
"Let's get together with the others, maybe the mastermind is dead. However, we must see how the zombie theme turned out and support the others in case there are still some left" they all light up and move back to the others. Alexandra looks at the corpse of her partner who died of hers and kicks him as a sign of contempt. She hated these kinds of treacherous and phony dragons, she was grateful that her relic warned him of danger or maybe she hadn't told her.
