Chapter 492: I Like It Here (Grand Finale)
Leon sent several Elf Gods back to their Divine Country with a single sword strike, including that ancient castle, the magic, and the Maze Lock, all reduced to ashes under his sword.
After finishing all this, Leon did not turn to the Elf Empire to give those oblivious elves a painful lesson, to make them remember not to lightly provoke the Dragon Clan.
His idea was simple, if the Elf Gods cause trouble, he would naturally stand in the way, leaving matters of the Mortal World to be solved by the Mortal World itself.
Those elves making the Dragon Madness Lock weren't just targeting the Zhen Dan Kingdom; they were targeting all dragons. If the dragons learn that the elves are preparing the Dragon Madness Lock and remain unmoved, especially the Metal Dragons who intend to coexist peacefully with the elves, and eventually get tricked and killed by the elves, they deserve it. Why should he bother? He's not the babysitter of those dragons.
In short, after a simple cleanup, Leon quickly returned.
"You're back! Are you okay? Did you see the message I sent to you with the Short Message Technique?" Tassera quickly approached Leon as soon as she saw him, "I know why you felt uneasy. I have reason to suspect that those elves are preparing to create the Dragon Madness Lock in the north, recreating the tragedy of the Toril World."
"You're right, they are indeed preparing the Dragon Madness Lock." Leon replied with a relaxed smile.
"And then?" Tassera impatiently asked.
"And then, that's it." Leon's expression was calm, as if what he had just experienced was a trivial matter.
Leon organized his words and shared his experiences. Speaking of the four Elf Gods, at least two of them had Divine Positions related to war, pretty formidable fighters, and if it had been his former self, really hard to handle.
"For that matter," Leon suddenly curious, "you're now on the life level of a Titan, the Dragon Madness Lock no longer affects you, right?"
Leon waited a while but never received Tassera's reply, so he asked, "Did you hear me?"
Tassera awoke from her trance, her eyes full of shock and disbelief.
Though this was the Material Plane, not the Bliss Realm or Wilderness of Freedom, territories of the Elf Gods where they couldn't exert their full power, sending four Elf Gods back with a single sword... What kind of partner did she find, already touching the realm of powerful deities just upon adulthood?
Next.
Leon didn't stay long at Tassera's Mage Tower before returning to his villa, summoned Cecilia and Isily to his office, and told them what had happened that day, instructing them to spread the news among the Metal Dragons and Colorful Dragons, then simply left it at that.
...
...
Years passed like this.
Most of the time was spent refining the Hongmeng Purple Qi. Leon did not extensively promote his achievements, rarely went out, but whenever he went somewhere, everyone treated him with respect. Even Bahamut and Tiamat once expressed their gratitude to him, while the Elf Gods made no moves, presumably no deity dared to plot against him anymore.
Apart from refining the Hongmeng Purple Qi, there were his wife and children at home, and with nothing particular to do, Leon occasionally went out for a stroll.
Leon first checked Edwin's laboratory.
Due to his influence, Edwin seemed to be growing younger.
Edwin's current research focus was on White Phosphorus incendiary bombs, but it would take some time to yield results, and failure was still a possibility.
After leaving Edwin's laboratory, Leon visited Danalan, which was originally an elf city and now a key city for development under Zhen Dan Kingdom's rule, governed by Tassera's cousin, Camus... Tassera's relatives each held various high positions, making their family incredibly powerful in Zhen Dan Kingdom.
"I already have three daughters. Have you found a wife?" Leon unexpectedly encountered Brass Dragon Eggon, who was on a business trip to Danalan, and chatted with him.
"If I wanted to, I'd find one anytime." Brass Dragon retorted, "I just don't want to yet."
Leon looked at his amusing expression and couldn't help but laugh.
Soon, Leon learned from that chatterbox's mouth that the Efreeti dreams of becoming a Noble Genie in a thousand years, a spy was caught attempting to steal the Engineering Department's cement formula, and Cloud Giant Mankus has now become a business tycoon, throwing parties every week, spending money lavishly...
Seeing how much Brass Dragon could talk, Leon quickly found an excuse to leave in a hurry.
...
...
In the blink of an eye, it was already dark.
The night was marked by a grand family dinner, which Leon enjoyed, as he loved having meals with his whole family.
Laksha, bored at times and quite childish, carefully pieced together leftover bones, muttered incantations, and used necromancy magic. Soon a skeletal chicken staggered to its feet, with eerie light flickering in its hollow eye sockets, wobbling comically as it walked.
Laksha had the "Undead Black Scripture" from Leon, along with the "Sain's Necromancy Spellbook" and "Sachiat's Code" brought by Leon from Ferren, raising her mastery in necromancy magic significantly.
"I heard you two skipped work again yesterday." When Sida and Tana were baby dragons, Cecilia had arranged for them to join the government and enjoy its benefits. Now they were in their teenage phase.
"Are those mushrooms really that interesting?" As a Green Dragon, Cecilia had a strong desire for power and ambition, and couldn't fathom why her daughters had no interest in power but loved all sorts of messy things instead.
"What else?" The twins mischievously tilted their heads sideways, then both tilted their heads to the right.
"I've had enough of you two." Cecilia slumped her shoulders.
Isily and Fiora sat together, watching Cecilia educate her daughters with keen interest. Noticing Fiora constantly touching her belly, Isily said, "You keep pestering Leon, pestering him every day. You'll have bread, there'll be butter too."
"No need." Fiora shook her head calmly, her expression serene.
"You shouldn't give up on yourself. If you give up, there's even less chance." Isily urged patiently.
"I'm not giving up. I can feel it." Fiora whispered, "A little life."
"Huh!?" Isily, upon hearing Fiora's words, was stunned for a moment, opened her mouth wide, and stammered, "Uh, well, what did you say? Ah, congratulations, when did you notice?"
Salovis, lying on the table, muttered, "We're dragons, why should we follow human social ethics and morals?"
"Direct relatives are prohibited from marrying because of their high genetic similarity, possibly carrying the same recessive disease genes, greatly increasing the chance of their offspring having recessive genetic disorders. But we dragons are perfect beings..." Salovis monologued, suddenly feeling a strike on the head, looking up, "Why'd you hit me?"
"What do you think?" Anglistra scoffed, "Daydreaming in broad daylight."
"It's night now." Salovis retaliated, "And it's not like there aren't Red Dragon siblings who marry."
Anglistra folded her arms, sneered, and said, "Even so, how could Leon possibly take a fancy to you, you're just a pet."
"The way my brother values family, if only you had cared for him a bit back then, fed him, not expelled him from the territory... your status would definitely be higher than the Blue Dragon now. Even the Blue Dragon would have to please you." Salovis retorted sharply, "The whole Dragon Clan laughs at your foolishness now."
Anglistra, hearing this, immediately burst into anger, raised her fist.
Salovis bared her teeth, refusing to back down.
A mother-daughter showdown was about to begin.
Leon didn't want to deal with his mother and sister, focusing wholeheartedly on his eldest daughter Sharon—now in her teenage phase, in human form a graceful young girl—and said, "You've interned in various departments by now... still too young to ascend the throne, but governing as regent shouldn't be a problem. When do you plan on starting?"
"I want to go out for a while, travel alone." Sharon pursed her lips, her thoughts grew with age, "As for being regent, let's talk about it after I return."
"That's fine too." Leon nodded lightly, "Reading ten thousand books is not as good as traveling ten thousand miles."
Leon leaned back against the chair, took a sip of red wine, suddenly felt sentimental, and said, "How fast time flies... I still remember when I was a baby dragon, looking for crabs and sucking snails everywhere to fill my stomach, then catching fish, and now, blink of an eye, my daughter is all grown up."
"You've hardly been an adult for a few years, not yet time to reminisce the past." Tassera couldn't help but interject.
"Become a father before becoming an adult, whose fault is that?" Leon glanced at Tassera, whose slightly curled long hair draped over her shoulders, "Do you admit you were eyeing me when I was still a young dragon?"
"For a good man, you have to make a move early on." Tassera raised her chin confidently.
Leon ignored Tassera, instead looking at his beautiful daughter and said, "Don't listen to your mom's random talk... well, if you find someone stronger than Daddy, I'll support you making a move."
"Because—" Leon tightened his fist and raised it, "If he can't beat me, I'll beat him down."
"Then I'll remain unmarried for life." A playful glimpse flashed in Sharon's eyes as she hugged Leon, "That way I can always be with Daddy."
"No way." Tassera pulled Sharon away, sat in Leon's lap, and hugged his shoulders tightly, "He's mine."
Tassera looked at Leon, her eyes gleaming with anticipation, and said, "Sharon wants to go out, I want to go out too, when can we travel?"
"Where to?" Leon wondered, as he pondered whether he could shatter the void once he'd fully refined the Hongmeng Purple Qi.
No matter what, regardless of whether he could break the void, he was happy here and enjoyed his current life.
