Tactical Embarrassment

Hi everyone, JagdDrache here.
I wanted to sit down and explain what is happening with Tactical Embarrassment, both for this OG version and for the future.

TL;DR

I am planning to end this OG run at the end of Arc 2 / Volume 2.

The story will not be deleted.

I will restore the 2-chapters-per-week schedule to bring us cleanly to that stopping point.

After that, I will go quiet for a while to prepare a refined or relaunch version based on the updated canon and wiki materials.

Why I am stopping this OG run at Arc 2

While writing and worldbuilding, I have been rebuilding a lot of the story's foundations in the background:
lore, magic systems, races, politics, timeline, character histories and more.

As a result:

The "true" canon I am working with now is much more refined than what appears in the earlier chapters.

What I will eventually upload to the wiki is going to disagree with parts of this OG text.

If I keep pushing the OG version forward into later arcs, such as Mizumori and Takejin politics, in its current form, that mismatch will only get worse. Readers will get confused, and I will be fighting my own earlier decisions every time I write a new scene.

So I have decided to treat Arc 2 / Volume 2 as the endpoint of this original run.

This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.
It is a natural breakpoint: the foundations are laid, the party is united, and they are standing on the threshold of Mizumori.

Will this story be deleted?

Short answer: no.

I am not going to delete this version.

I am keeping it as:

Version 1 of the project, a record of how TE started.

A reminder to myself not to dive in so hard without fully building the foundations first, and then regret it later.

Even if the later, refined version becomes the "main" continuity, this OG run is still part of the story's history, and I am grateful to everyone who read it.

Update schedule from here

From now on, I plan to:

Restore the 2 chapters per week schedule (as long as real life does not explode).

Use that steady pace to carry the OG run cleanly to the end of Arc 2 / Volume 2.

I will clearly mark when we hit the final chapter of this OG version, and I will remind everyone again at that point what the next steps are.

What happens after Arc 2 ends?

Once the OG run reaches its planned stopping point, I will:

Shift my focus fully to the refined version of TE, built on the updated lore and wiki materials.

Work on outlines, buffer chapters and cleanup so the relaunch can be more consistent and internally solid.

There will be a quiet period between the end of this OG run and the relaunch.
During that time:

I will not be posting regular chapters here.

I will occasionally share updates, small previews or lore bits over on Discord:

When the new version is ready to launch, I will:

Clearly label it, so you will not confuse it with this one.

Link it directly from here, so anyone who reached the end of Arc 2 can continue the journey in the new continuity.
