System: Replicating The Heavens

Chapter 413: Ch 413: Moonlight Qilin Egg

"What is this place?"

Alex and the others walked out of the teleportation formation and looked around. They found themselves standing in the middle of a vast, ancient-looking hall. The ground beneath their feet was made of black stone. The air was thick with heat, and it felt as though the entire place was alive with the power of flames.

The ceiling was high and covered in faded murals that depicted powerful beings wielding fire and swords. Some of the paintings showed scenes of great wars and empires being turned to ash.

There was a massive stone statue in the center of the hall. It was over thirty feet tall and shaped like a man wearing ancient armor made of fire. In his hand, the man was holding a very thin sword. However, unlike the man's entire body, which was made of stone, the sword was real and made of Star Flame Ore.

The moment Alex's gaze fell on the sword, the system reacted, and an information panel appeared right in front of his eyes.

[Name: Flamevoid Sovereign Blade.

Grade: True Weapon

Details: Crafted personally by the Flame Sword Sovereign using the core of a dying Starfire Realm and refined with Spatial Divine Steel drawn from the edge of a collapsing Secret Realm, the Flamevoid Sovereign Blade has both flame and space attributes. It grants the user the ability to tear space with every slash and ignite everything with flame. It can also automatically generate a spatial defense barrier when the wielder is under threat.

Note: The sword contains an Independent Space, housing the true inheritance of the Flame Sword Sovereign. Only a very lucky person who can see through deception and obtain the sword can inherit everything Flame Sword Sovereign used to own.]

Alex: "..."

It turned out that all that stuff about Flame Ancestor's Heart Orb being the true inheritance left behind by Flame Sword Sovereign is nothing more than a deception. Had he not sensed the crack and felt a weird attraction towards the crack, he would not have tried to enter or investigate it. In that case, he would have lost the chance to obtain the Flame Sword Sovereign's true inheritance.

Taking a deep breath, Alex again released two waves of invisible energy to investigate for hidden dangers or treasures present in this place. However, he didn't find anything.

Thus, without wasting any time, he walked to the statue and snatched the sword out of its hand before waving it in the air, creating turbulence in the silent air. Then, he dripped a drop of his blood, binding the sword to himself.

Immediately, he felt a connection forming between himself and the sword. At the same time, a surge of information appeared inside his mind. This information was about the Flamevoid Sovereign Sword and the space inside it.

Selyara, Elyndra, and Aurelius hadn't paid much attention to the statue after glancing at it once. They had shifted their attention to the hall and the carvings on the walls, so they didn't know what Alex had just done.

Alex had no intention of sharing this treasure with others. He calmly looked inside the sword's space and was shocked to find a small mountain of Energy Stones, herbs, weapons, and many other high-quality treasures. Among them, the three treasures were carefully placed inside three sealed boxes.

He didn't rush to open the boxes. Instead, he threw the sword inside his personal space and looked at the source of light inside this hall.

No one had paid any attention to the source of light after coming here, not even Alex. It was only after he released the wave of chaos energy to investigate this place that he noticed something.

Inside this hall, the only source of light was a giant chandelier. At first glance, it appeared quite ordinary. However, upon closer inspection, one would notice something peculiar about it. A large pearl was embedded at the center of the chandelier, emitting a soft, radiant glow. In reality, the light wasn't coming from the chandelier itself but from this so-called "pearl." And with careful observation, it became clear that this wasn't a pearl at all, but an egg.

[Name: Moonlight Qilin Egg (Dead)

Detail: A divine egg exuding a soft, moon-like brilliance, once nurturing an unhatched descendant of the Moonlight Qilin. Unfortunately, the egg perished due to prolonged exposure to extreme conditions. The Moonlight Qilin is a legendary creature born from pure Yin energy and divine light.

Note: Although the egg is dead, it still contains the purest essence of the Moonlight Qilin. Upon consumption, it can greatly enhance one's affinity with Yin and light attributes, greatly increase strength, and may even trigger the awakening of a unique bloodline related to the Moonlight Qilin.]

Alex raised his brows in surprise, not expecting to face such a situation. Unfortunately, the egg was already dead. It can no longer hatch a Qilin cub. Even so, this egg still holds a very high value.

Earlier, when Alex and the others had first arrived in this place, that strange allure that had attracted him had vanished without a trace for some reason. He could no longer feel the same charm or attraction. Yet, after carefully examining the egg, he realized that the source of that sensation had been this very object all along.

He glanced at Selyara, Elyndra, and Aurelius, who were still engrossed in studying the murals. Then, without hesitation, he shifted his gaze back to the egg and leapt into the air.

His sudden movement immediately drew the attention of the three, who looked up in curiosity, wondering what Alex was up to. They watched as he reached the chandelier and forcefully removed the giant "pearl" from its center. In the next instant, the "pearl" vanished.

Alex had clearly stored the egg in his personal space.

The moment Alex stored the egg in his personal space, the entire hall was plunged into darkness.

But Alex was prepared. With a flick of his hand, a ball of flame ignited in his palm, casting a warm glow and illuminating the surroundings once more.

"What was that?" Aurelius asked, his tone filled with curiosity.

"A dead egg," Alex replied calmly.

"A dead egg? Then why did you even take it?" Elyndra asked, frowning slightly.

"Because it belonged to a Moonlight Qilin," Alex said. "It was also the source of light in this vast hall."

"Oh..." Elyndra and Aurelius responded with mild interest. They clearly didn't know much about the Moonlight Qilin.

However, Selyara was different. She knew exactly what kind of creature the Moonlight Qilin was. The moment Alex mentioned its name, her eyes widened in shock. A moment later, disappointment clouded her expression upon realizing the egg was already dead.
