Chapter 26: Cunning King
"Well, Hybrids have always spelled troubled, I never expected this particular one to be different. We should just get rid of him." The red haired leader said again.
"But, this is a creature who killed the last Vampire Queen, I feel getting rid of him might be easier said than done." Another leader replied.
"Indeed, getting of him might be easier said than done but what if we convince him to our side. Our wars won't stop after getting rid of the Vampires, we will need to cleanse the world of the Werewolves as well, we might need all the help we can get." The White haired Witch commented.
"I feel that would be impossible, Leader Luce. In fact, I think the Hybrid cares for the Vampires just as he does for the humans, he won't hesitate for defend them" Agnes said and the whole place quietened again.
The Hybrid was a being powerful enough to kill even the Vampire Queen, an enemy of such proportion was nothing to scoff at, while these thoughts were going through the leader's mind, the Magician King stood.
"You have done well Agnes. But while you have discovered an important missing piece to form the perfect image of the whole you have also make our plans known to a potential enemy. Still do not fret, all I need is to break the dragon seal, once that is done, no enemy will be able to stand up to the Magician race." The Magician King declared before looking towards the door of the hall and from there a group of ten could be seen entering.
They were all dressed in sturdy looking armors and arm to the teeth, even their head were covered in helmets.
On entering the hall, they immediately went down on a knee and bowed their heads towards the King.
"According to your command, King Merlin. We have destroyed the base of those called the Seer Mercenary and killed every single one of the Mercenaries, but we couldn't find the man whom you ordered us to bring back alive." A female voice suddenly spoke from among the soldiers.
"Uh, you couldn't find him." The King muttered with thoughtful gaze, "that silver Witch might not be satisfied about that, tell me, what happened to the human government intelligence." The King asked with raised brows.
"Well, even they didn't seems to have any information about this strange person. He is probably a Breaker." The warrior spoke.
"Another Breaker." the King muttered with a slight frown, "I thought I tightened the surveillance around the portals already." The King said sighing before the soldier suddenly spoke up again.
"We however managed to get a human who pleaded with us to spare his life, in exchange he gave us all information about the hidden one whom he claimed to be a secret Mercenary of the Seer Mercenaries." the soldier said and the King's eyes lit up.
"That's great news, what did you get." he asked.
"Well, the name of this secret mercenary is Kurtz and th..."
"Wait!" the King interjected with wide eyed before turning to Agnes.
"What did you call the real name of the Bone Demon." he asked.
"The Bone Demon's real name is indeed Kurtz, I think it makes sense they were not able to find him in the human world since he is here in the underworld." Agnes replied also surprised.
"Now, this is a fascinating development isn't it, continue." The King told the soldier.
"Well, it was said that this secret Mercenary had single handedly captured the Silver Witch, further enforcing my believe that he was a Breaker. You seems to have found someone fitting the description, my Lord." The soldier said in question.
"Indeed, he not only fits the description but I am very sure that he is just whom we are looking for. I am glad you didn't find him or none of you would have returned." The King said with a chuckle before looking around.
"Everyone leave except the leaders." He ordered and soon, only the King and the three leaders were in the large hall.
"Summon the Silver Witch." The King ordered the guards and soon, from a small door by the side, a young silver haired lady walked into the hall.
Her silver eyes were cold as ice and her sharp chin held high in pride. The king smile widened on seeing her.
"Welcome, Lady Aria." He said walking towards the lady whose eyes pierced right into his before she spoke.
"Have you done all I requested." Aria asked.
"Well, we couldn't find the person you wanted but the Seer Mercenary have been thoroughly destroyed. We revenged you to some extent right." The King asked.
The lady stared on at the King for a moment before speaking "you must really think I am a fool." She said walking towards a window at the side.
"Uh, Why?" the King asked with raised brows.
Slowly, Aria turned back towards the king before speaking.
"You see, my father always told me about Vampires, Witches and Werewolves. Most importantly, he told me the Witch history. How the Silver Magicians had been utterly destroyed because of a power hungry Soul Warlock just like you..." she said glaring at the King whose brow rose. The girl continued, "...and a stupid but heroic Silver Witch. I always thought it was just some stories, after all my father was normal, just like every other person out there, my mother was as well. I however, was quite different, being a strange grey haired girl from birth, I was teased because of it, I was called old woman right from when I could understand people. But growing, I soon learned my appearance was not just some strange mutation, nor were my father's stories fables. I came from the bloodline of the silver witches and in me, their powers had awakened. Now you are trying to manipulate me simply because you need that power, right, wise King." The girl declared sarcastically and the King's eyes thinned.
