Chapter 10 – Believe in Blood: Part 2.
Smiling wide, Casey internally waited for that question and had the answer ready after Sylvie asked. Her eyes spreading a soft yellow between them, making a living eclipse Casey spoke. “You told me at the lake we’d move as I felt comfortable. I know it's only been a few hours for my change and our partnership, but we’ve known each other for a year. You’ve come to my rescue more times than I can count. I’ve worked out all the inner demons and tucked away all the regret.” Casey squeezed her legs and kissed Sylvie multiple times across her cheeks to her lips. “I didn’t admit it at the time, but changing me I was ready then.” Softly running her fingers through Sylvie’s blue and grey hair, Casey cooed lovingly. “I am ready, I should have admitted it to myself sooner. Friends to partners and lovers, it’s like in the movies or something.”
Without a warning, Sylvie picked up Casey from her lap like a cherished doll and set her back on the sofa. Sylvie stood up and bowed lightly to her partner. “Don’t go anywhere, I will be right back.” She darted out of the room.
Casey sat back on the sofa giggling to herself. She had to admit that she enjoyed being handled with such determination and grace by Sylvie, and it shot little excited pulses through her body. Unaware that her new vampire body could make goosebumps, Casey shivered a moment and let the fun feeling wash over her just before witnessing the little bumps poke up from all over her arms and legs. “What are you doing to me?” Casey whispered to herself and giggled again.
-Are you ready for the next part of your new life, Rivers?-
Allowing the feelings for Sylvie to wash through her senses, Casey blurted, “More than ready. It’s a long time coming.”
Speaking from the other side of the house, Sylvie inquired. “What are you talking about sunshine?”
“I was thinking about how I was more than ready and how much I actually love you, Sylvie.” Casey smoothly spoke. “I was reflecting out loud Mistress Moon.”
Appearing from the kitchen with a set of small cube speakers, Sylvie cooed after hearing Casey’s latest pet name. “Oh, I like that. I don’t think it fits this evening though.” Powering up the twin speakers, Sylvie turned on music from her phone. Swaggering up to Casey, Sylvie curtsied again. “May I have this dance, Glow-bunny?”
Snickering lightly at the impromptu names, Casey took Sylvie’s hand and stood up. “It would be my honor, Taini, my love.” Casey smiled as she answered, then followed Sylvie to the middle of the living room.
Sylvie carefully placed her hand at the base of Casey’s spine and pulled the two close. “It’s about to begin. I assume you know the song ‘You light up my life’?” Sylvie lovingly asked.
Shaking her head, Casey lifted one of her long eyebrows. “Not familiar.”
Hearing the piano at the beginning of the song, Sylvie started to move slowly in a circle, holding Casey close and then began to sing in perfect pitch with the artist Debbie Boone.
“So many dreams I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark but now you've come along
And you light up my life
You give me hope to carry on
You light up my days and fill my nights with song…”
Melting into Sylvie’s form, Casey began to cry and shed little droplets of blood all over the pristine flooring. “I..No..um..” She sniffled and while still being led by Sylvie in the smooth and romantic dance, managed to push herself to softly kiss her partner on the lips. “I..I have never had anyone serenade me.” Casey then pushed herself into Sylvie’s chest and swayed as her partner led her around the dance floor. internally, she knew that she’d never felt this close to another person in her short life. While she couldn’t place the faces or names of her former lovers due to the memory fog of her change, it was the emotion attached to what was happening now and the reckless actions she once did for this exact attention.
-She’s loved you for over a year, Rivers. From one touch. From..one..touch.-
Casey held tightly to Sylvie, “You are amazing, do you know that Taini?”
Carefully spinning the couple in a slow and passion-filled dance, listening to another song, ‘Hello’’ by Lionel Richie. Sylvie kissed the top of Casey’s strawberry-colored hair. “How am I amazing, Casey? I only followed a vision. Some would frown at the predetermination. Or fight about it.”
Upon hearing the latest love song, Casey perked up and saw the full bright moons in Sylvie’s eyes. “You know this song is about perfect for the moment.” she wiped the blood trail from her cheeks and cupped Sylvie’s cheeks. “It is about a person that has watched from a distance and dreamed of being with that person. The first lines are almost like you, precognitive.” Casey paused and then spoke each line in the song softly for her mistress.
“…I've been alone with you
Inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips
A thousand times
I sometimes see you
Pass outside my door
Hello!
Is it me you're looking for?
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it in your smile
You're all I've ever wanted
And my arms are open wide
'Cause you know just what to say
And you know just what to do
And I want to tell you so much
I love you…”
Nodding in agreement with Casey, Sylvie leaned down and kissed both of her partners' hands. “I can see how it can be a vision. Let me just say it then, I love you.”
Casey felt the emotion through their vampiric bond first and knew that the three little words were absolute truth. “Taini, my heart. You have every part of me at your whim. I came to this on my own and I now know that I love you, and have since we met a year ago. I just didn’t want to admit it to myself.” Warmth shot throughout Casey’s cold dead form and once more she was reassured in the comfort of their lesbian love. “You gave me a serenade, I should return the favor.” She winked and followed Sylvie’s lead as she’d been doing the whole time, spinning and dipping in the heavenly dance. “Most of the song coming up I will let Air Supply sing. I am sure you’ve heard this, it's called ‘Lost in Love’ and there are only about three lines that apply heavily to us.” Casey leaned backward as they spun lightly and grabbed Sylvie’s phone. “If you wouldn’t mind my darling.” Waiting patiently until Sylvie unlocked the phone, Casey then tapped the screen a few times and pulled up the song. Casey waited a few lines and then mimicked the few lines she was thinking about.
“…Reach for a star and I'll show you a plan
I figured it out
What I needed was someone to show me…”
Planting a well-timed kiss on Sylvie’s purple-painted lips, Casey smiled. “Someone to show me, darling. That was you. Vivienne introduced me to vampire life, but it was you who cared for me from the beginning. You defended me without a thought, and I didn’t see it.” Casey felt herself get spun away and then pulled back into Sylvie’s arms. Purring lightly, Casey regained her thoughts. “Patiently and waited and watched me from a distance, and eventually you showed me. I love you, Sylvie Miakoda.”
-Your new unlife is perfect, Rivers. I deserve this.-
