Chapter 72: Chapter 71 - Life in Santa Barbara, Iloilo
Third person POV
After that, Roxas brought his stuff and went to his room in the back of the one-story house as Anko tagged along while being invisible to his surroundings. There Roxas turned on the lights and unloaded his belongings, before taking a deep breath and feeling nostalgic about the room. He didn't go there after he had left for Japan months ago, so memories struck him hard like a hammer.
"Finally…" his mind said, "…I am home."
"Feels nostalgia here, right?" Anko asked him.
Roxas then turned to him. "Yes, it was."
He then changed his clothes in his house clothes and turned off the lights, before to sleep for the night.
Anko then sat on the floor and watched his sleep.
In a dream, Roxas and Anko are in the dark void again, and Kirito, in his normal self, sees them and is happy to see them again. "Roxas-kun! Anko-kun!" Roxas and Anko see that and run to him with a positive reunion.
"Yeah, hey there, Kirito-kun."
"Kirito-kun!"
After that little reunion, Roxas and Anko told Kirito about their adventures together for the past few days.
Kirito was very surprised to hear that both of them went to the Philippines for a summer vacation, and Anko shared how exciting it was for him as someone who had never gone there before. "Wow, it seemed that you enjoyed it a lot, Anko-kun," Kirito said to Anko directly and meekly. Anko then happily nodded. "Yup!"
Kirito then looked at Roxas. "Well, my evil self told me that you had become more and more stronger by the day."
Roxas then positively nodded. "Yes, and don't worry, Anko-kun and I will take a break from the game for a vacation."
"Okay, I look forward to your mission to save us."
With that, Roxas and Anko disappeared from the void and went back to the real world.
The next morning, at 5:45 a.m., Roxas woke up, made his bed, and went outside to the front yard with his journal and pen. Anko was with him as always. There Roxas journaled his morning and yesterday and watered the potted plants with a hose. Anko observed his doing. And then, as Roxas watered, a boy came to the scene, only to be very surprised to see that Roxas had come home. Anko was invisible to her. The boy was George, Roxas' younger brother.
"Kuya?!" George said to Roxas.
Roxas and Anko heard that and turned toward him.
"Ah, morning, George," Roxas said to him positively. "How are you?"
"Kuya, you're actually home?" George walked up to him. "Pero, kailan?"
"Last night."
"Grabe…"
George was happy that Roxas was truly now at home, and Anko wondered in a low voice. "So this boy must be his younger brother…"
Later, while Roxas was walking down the hallway with invisible-mode Anko, another, younger boy and a young woman were opening the door of their room, only to be shocked at Roxas' presence. Roxas and Anko then saw that.
"Kuya?!" the boy, Kayne, said to Roxas.
"Roxas, you're here?!" the woman, Kristina, added as well.
"Ah, morning, Ate, Kayne," replied Roxas back positively.
"When did you arrive here?"
"Last night po, Ate."
"Woah…"
Kayne was happy to see Roxas again and gave him a quick and happy hug. "Kuya!"
Wrapping his arms around his youngest brother, Roxas softly and happily responded back, "Yes, I am home, Kayne…"
Anko was happy for them, especially at Roxas.
A bit later, breakfast came, and Roxas and his siblings gathered around the dining table. Ricardo was surprised to see that his son was home from Japan, and Roxas and Rosario explained to him how that happened. Now Ricardo got that, calmed down, and said to Roxas, "Welcome back home, Anak."
"Salamat, papa," replied Roxas back positively.
After that, they all ate their Filipino-style breakfast with cups of hot coffee and glasses of water.
The atmosphere around them was calm and quiet.
Later on, after breakfast, Roxas and Kristina helped out with the dishes while Rosario wiped the table before going to her work in the barangay's local high school. Ricardo went to work on his farm in the back of their rural house. After doing the dishes, Roxas helped out on the farm as Anko watched him. His life in Santa Barbara, Iloilo was quiet and nice, despite the semi-urban environment of the barangay where the family resided for 21 years now. Anko gazed at the rural atmosphere and breathed in the fresh, morning air while remaining invisible from everyone.
