Surviving the Reverse Harem

chapter 8

8 – Knight’s Training Camp

It rained on the way back from repairing the sword in a nearby city. Raindrops pounded hard on the carriage.

The rain that had been falling since yesterday was getting stronger instead of weakening. Wearing armor in a running carriage. Around this time in my previous life, I met assassins.

Suddenly the carriage came to a halt with a loud rattle.

After cleaning the sword for a while, I opened the door of the carriage and the coachman who was examining the wheels approached and bowed his head.

“Sorry, the wagon wheel is broken.”

“Can you fix it?”

“The wheel is shattered and it is raining so it is impossible to fix it now.”

“Okay. When the weather stops, you can fix it and go back. I’ll go first on foot.”

The old coachman hesitated.

“It could be my mistake, but… Looking at the hole that broke the wheel of the wagon, it seems that someone deliberately dug it.”

“It’s okay.”

I handed him the money for the carriage. As he stepped out of the wagon, the tempest pounded his armor. He walked in the direction of the training camp, inhaling the smell of damp dirt.

Through the rain, I met a man who was waiting for me. Wearing a black mask, he glared at me and said.

“Robert. Cancel her engagement to Irrell and stay away from her.”

Seeing him gave me a new feeling.

Starting with him, several assassins start targeting me. Tired of Irelle and the assassins constantly targeting me, I broke off the marriage to live.

What did I say in my last life?

He probably replied that he would cancel her engagement and separate from her. And when I didn’t cancel the engagement, the assassins came looking for me until I called off the engagement again.

Because I was weak at the time, I had no choice but to lie and say that I was canceling the engagement. Perhaps if I hadn’t been noble, they would have killed me right away.

Looking at him waiting for an answer, he said.

“I don’t like it.”

“This is your last chance.”

As he beckoned, the masked people who had been hiding appeared and surrounded me.

“Cancel her engagement to Ir El and promise to stay away from her, and we will move away.”

I drew my sword and the masked man who saw it opened his mouth.

“Is that the answer. Then die.”

At his command, those who surrounded me attacked me.

Robert looked at me while fighting the seven assassins, brandishing his sword.

“There are no gaps.”

Hearing that his skills were excellent, he attacked with 20 assassins. Even though it was too much power for an expert beginner, half of them had already died.

Sometimes poisoned daggers were thrown, but he blocked them all as if there was no blind spot. Surprisingly, he seemed to overwhelm me.

‘I must risk my life too.’

In order to win the match before the numbers decrease further, I swung the dagger with energy.

There were other masked people’s bodies separated around him, and there was a huge hole in his stomach.

“We… In the organization… Will target… You… Soon”

I cut his throat as he spoke while regurgitating blood from his throat.

Removed the mask on the head rolling on the ground. A black dagger was drawn next to his left eye.

“As expected…”

The black dagger is a symbol of the Empire’s Bayek Assassins. The Bayek Assassins are the largest force in the shadows of the Empire. And Antares, one of the many male leads of Irrel, is the successor.

Even if the male lead of the main character alone is over 40, including 11 subs. And all but 5 die in a secret love fight.

Therefore, I can only survive if I have the strength of the top 5 men among the many men in the main character.

Now, since Antares is one of the many successors of the Bayek Assassins, he can only send this much power. However, if he kills all the other heirs and becomes the official heir, the quality of the assassins targeting me and others will change.

Even later, if he becomes a sober, he will go around assassinating himself.

Piing-

A memorization flew toward me who was lost in thought. As I turned to avoid it, the assassin approached and my sword collided with his dagger.

Kwawang!

There was a roar as the tiles collided.

“Ah, I took advantage of my carelessness to aim. It’s pretty good at such a young age.”

“Are you the last one?”

He said, spinning the dagger round and round.

“I’m the last one this time, but does that matter? You’ll die here anyway.”

My body was exhausted from the fight just now, and the opponent looked like an expert intermediate. Even though he was in good condition, he was a difficult opponent.

Wedge juice!

He attacked me, throwing the dagger he was spinning. He was much faster and stronger than the masked men he had fought before.

It moved so fast that it seemed as if it had two bodies. Rain clouds obscured the moon, so I focused my mind.

Responding with sight and hearing was too late, so I overworked myself and spread the energy shallowly around the body.

‘Left’

Understand-

The armor protecting the left shoulder was broken. However, I rotated my body and let go of the dagger that was aiming for the heart with a narrow margin. The assassin was astonished that he had not known how to avoid it so neatly.

Because it was impossible for even an ordinary expert beginner or intermediate level to avoid the blow that had just occurred.

“I can’t believe it”

As his one-hit killer attack cut through the air, a huge gap appeared in his whole body. He put more strength into his spinning right foot and drew energy into his sword and swung it.

The assassin’s face was cut obliquely. He aimed for the neck, because at that moment the assassin reacted and moved. The ground was sprinkled with white brains and clots of blood. He died with his eyes wide open as if he could not believe his blow had missed.

Two black daggers were drawn next to his left eye.

Shoot ah-

The rain continued to pour down as if there had been a hole in the sky. The blood on the armor and sword was washed away by the rain.

I put my sword in and walked towards the training center.

———————————————

“You just stared at Lady Irrel.”

Performing the mission The teacher who was carrying out the mission together said. He opened his eyes wide and looked at his master.

“The heir is now twenty-seven, right? That’s a good age. I also knew love then.”

“I think you misunderstood something.”

“Hmm? Those eyes seemed to fall in love without fail.”

Antares said in a slightly raised voice.

“The basis of an assassin is emotionlessness. Love for the first woman I’ve ever seen since I was raised as an assassin thoroughly?”

“Then why were you looking at her?”

“Her appearance was unique. She was meekly admiring it.”

“When you say admiration for her looks, doesn’t that mean that she met her ideal type?”

A man with four black daggers in his left eye asked in a playful voice. Antares hesitated for a moment.

Antares considered feeling emotions as an assassin’s shame. But it is also true that she has a heart for her. It was humiliating to say that out of her mouth, so she tried to back it up.

“She was beautiful I saw. Perhaps more than anyone I’ve ever seen, she is the most beautiful on the whole continent.”

“When she says yes, that means she cares about her.”

Throughout the talk, Antares’ tone was calm and his expression cold. He seemingly felt no emotion from him. It was natural. Among the outstanding assassins, those called geniuses become the successors of the organization.

And he was the one with overwhelming talent among his successors.

However, since the teacher had seen him since he was a child, he could tell that his heart was shaken. Just looking at his eyes, he was fixed on her until the end.

It was fun. She looked at him and she grinned. Then he spoke.

“This academy is called the Golden Horseman. It is said that the heir of the Grand Duke of the North, the apprentice of the Archmage, the High Elf, the eldest son of the Albion Merchant, and the Crown Prince of the Empire, who secretly hid his identity, entered the academy.”

His disciple pretending not to listen but paying attention was cute.

“Her popularity is beyond imagination at such an academy. Do you see the ring she wears on her left hand?”

“Yes.”

“That’s the ring her fiancé gave her.”

“…”

Antares’ eyes sharpened at his teacher’s words. Engagement? He said in a high-pitched voice.

“The engagement of a noble family is usually political. It has nothing to do with her will.”

“Hmm.. According to my information, my fiancé and I are in love with each other. I even gave you that engagement ring in front of the academy students. As a way to keep other men in check, right?”

“I see.”

The teacher spoke to Antares in a serious voice.

“Did I mention that I met a few nobles and honors? How did I meet those who had fiancees?”

“Did you meet secretly?”

“No. I killed all my fiancées. I’m not going to get married, but it hurts my pride that the girl I’m dating has a fiancée, right?”

The master was silent for a moment. When he opened his mouth again, a cool smile formed on his lips.

“Love is originally won with blood.”

A few days later, assassins were dispatched to kill Robert.
