Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 815: Shaer's Subtle Transformation

The Summer Solstice Festival of the Little Fairies commenced with an extraordinarily enchanting dance... The Little Flower Fairies, adorned with various floral headpieces, danced gracefully mid-air, their beautiful wings flapping rapidly as they exchanged formations. The uniformity of their movements was met with exclamations of delight.

Hill understood something from the chaotic praises of those Little Fairies... the reason why Vila felt she had an advantage over Titania; since rising to the Stellar Realm from the Joyous Court, the opening dance of the Shady Home's celebration had never featured a group dance of the Little Flower Fairies.

The Little Fairies would only perform their most beautiful group dance for their Racial God... and after Vila's disappearance, even though some Little Flower Fairies sided with Titania, their numbers were insufficient to form an opening dance... It required at least 108 willing Little Flower Fairies to obey instructions.

The Little Fairies themselves were well aware of the chaos they could cause if they refused to follow orders... Even Titania dared not forcibly demand a dance of loyalty from the Little Flower Fairies.

After all, even as a Queen, if she were mocked and ridiculed by all the Little Fairies, her power would weaken... The Fairy Throne is indeed condensed by the faith power of the entire race.

Even if what was lost wasn't much, it would accumulate, and Titania wouldn't be able to sustain it... That's why Vila was sure there would be Little Fairies trying to assassinate her... The Little Fairies now seemed to comply with the Fairy Court, but in truth, they had the least memory; as long as the Joyous Court did not appear before them for a few years, they would forget all past reverence.

Vila glanced back at the beautiful castle in the sky... It wasn't in vain that she was scared recently! Although some words were shielded from her perception by those two Goddesses, there were things important to Vila that the others dismissed, which she still knew.

The sealed-off four years of Toril... were enough to let Vila shine in the memory of the Toril Little Fairies... As long as she could persist in holding the Four Seasons Festival during perilous times, to these hardly loyal Little Fairies, she was the Fairy Queen!

Titania would definitely be unable to maintain above Intermediate Divine Power in the future; her mother must be furious now.

However... stroking the Starfire Garland she had condensed with all her divine power recently, Vila showed a sardonic smile... Sealed in a cold Ice Mountain for tens of thousands of years, relying only on the tenacity of Cloud Berry to survive, she had long lost any mother-daughter feelings for Titania, who toyed with people's hearts sitting at the Joyous Court.

Vila quietly placed the Starfire Garland on a pink Jasmine Flower, nodding and smiling at the cheering crowd below... She couldn't possibly fail; she was much stronger than Titania, who was used to relying on the Fairy Throne, after struggling so hard for so long.

The currently powerless Titania had willingly handed the opportunity to her.

"This Vila... even if the establishment of her Kingdom of God on earth can't overshadow the Joyous Court, it won't fail either," Celene softly commented, "Though her luck has never been good, her temperament is much stronger."

"That kind of useless Titania..." Shaer disdainfully expressed, "Does she deserve to be called an Intermediate Divine Power?"

I really don't know how so many Intermediate Divine Power beings tolerate being compared to a chair... Without that object, Titania can only maintain at Faint Divine Power because someone within the Natural God System or the Elf Deity System is helping her."

"Racial Gods are always different," Celene said casually, "They may possess great power, but they also lose themselves... Titania wasn't so obsessed with benefits initially, or else Oberon wouldn't be a fool to choose someone from the endless Fairies pursuing him who was the least thoughtful?

Back then, even Elf Gods were pursuing him!

Unfortunately, Oberon wished for a beautiful family, not just a fleeting pleasure.

However, after sitting on that throne, her considerations would never again concern her small family; the throne required her to solely consider power... Yet before that, while she was indeed quite cunning and devious, she truly loved her husband and children."

"That does sound like the Law on my side... to gain power, one must give up love and hope," Shaer spoke coldly.

Celene said in a peculiar tone, "You've never given up your own hopes."

Shaer remained silent before finally saying, "I'll argue with you after I finish watching."

Seems like she also quite enjoyed this performance.

Hill quietly watched the giant screen... He now felt Shaer was indeed too kind to him, allowing him to watch so much without ever intending to harm him.

Hill's calm demeanor wasn't because he placed all his hope on Celene's protection... The Water Maze Lock almost doubled his sense of danger.

Hill naturally possessed a very strong danger intuition.

So, within the Puzzle Lock's range, any hostility towards Hill, no matter how distant or hidden, could not block his perception.

He could feel that Shaer, while with him here, was in a very relaxed mood... Perhaps because she controlled the entire Shadow Realm in her grip, even without the Shadow Weave, Shaer wasn't much angered.

Hill could even feel that Shaer's desire to grasp the Shadow Weave in her hands again wasn't as strong as she showed... Otherwise, even if she wouldn't make a move against Edna now, she wouldn't be completely indifferent.

When Shaer wants to deal with someone, she can definitely plot in secret for thousands or even tens of thousands of years.

But she hasn't made any moves... Hill actually strengthened the defenses around Hidden Town in secret after Celene misspoke... Even asked the Temporal Artifact to keep an eye on whether there were any dangers in the surroundings.

But soon, he could confirm that there was no trace of followers of Shaer in Hidden Town, either above or below ground... They had almost all flocked to Deepwater City and Neverwinter.

Compared to Midnight, Shaer now wants to cause trouble for the Haber family.

This does not fit her image of someone who is nostalgic for the Shadow Weave.

This Goddess of the Night, has she perhaps taken a little of her sister's words to heart?

Although Celene isn't as smart and rational as Shaer, she has relied on her intuition to get this far, and even if sometimes it seems she ends up badly... Give it some time, and you see her become much stronger instead.

The only thing that really makes her completely unlucky is when Shaer steps in personally, not caring if they perish together...

With Shaer's naturally suspicious character, it's normal for her to test whether the Shadow Weave has an impact on her spirit... For the eternally cold and proud Goddess of the Night, being influenced by the weave she created, even if just a little, is unacceptable.

Just like she despises Titania's chair... So whether she will rebuild the Shadow Weave in the future, Hill finds it really hard to predict.

Hill watched the performances on the giant screen indifferently, slowly suppressing his soaring thoughts... His intuition told him that being overly curious about these matters would not be beneficial.

On the other hand, those sitting on the floor in the giant screen... under their buttocks was a beautiful mat woven with spider silk and nettle fiber... the Undead Tribe managed themselves extremely well, clapping vigorously at the end of the show, but remained silent during the performances, unlike the chattering and constantly discussing little fairies.

Hill could tell from their conduct that there was a customary viewing etiquette... From the expressions, either surprised or joyful, one could see that these undead who spent high prices on entrance tickets truly understood the art of appreciating these songs, dances, and plays... even though they were vastly different from their daily accustomed ones.

Hill showed a gentle smile, even though they were visitors from different worlds, the Undead Tribe always made him feel that his cherished hometown would certainly have a bright future.

"Hill, is that the Starfire Garland?" Celene suddenly asked, "Was it Vila who gathered it herself, or did you assist?"

"Vila did it herself," Hill said softly, "She's actually very strong... having suffered quite a bit in the past, at least for a little fairy, a life of loneliness and monotony feels like murder.

Many little fairies would even choose to give up their lives... if they found no joy left in their lives.

But Vila endured all the suffering and lived strongly, even bringing along a few of her followers."

"It's a pity... if it weren't for owing Amanata a life-saving debt, it would be better," Celene mumbled.

Hill turned his head in puzzlement to glance at the moonlight.

Shaer straightforwardly cleared his doubts: "For a little fairy who can gather starlight so effortlessly, condensing moonlight should be even easier... The power of starlight is much weaker than that of moonlight."

Hill gave a bewildered smile... Did Celene really find life too boring?

Knowing well that Vila's goal was to split the Joyous Court, yet she wanted to recruit her?

He shivered quietly... A Little Fairy Queen who worships the Maiden of the Moon?

Such a combination, upon hearing it, instills a feeling of 'my goodness, spare me!'.

The Starfire Garland is handcrafted by the Fairy Queen each summer solstice festival, presented to the winner... Generally, the winner refers to the noble who brings the performers to the festival, and the performers can usually only receive a blessed pen or a small gadget enhancing voice... The garland blossoms with 2 to 5 eternally fresh flowers, each flower condensed from the essence of stars, and plucking a specific type of flower from the garland would activate a related spell.

Vila crafted the highest-tier garland composed of five flowers, which even contained two yellow roses capable of releasing Sunburst Explosion... Titania was simply unable to gather yellow roses, her faction's issues weren't a secret for quite a while. Now she's actually relying entirely on her throne for suppression.
