Chapter 1795: Giant Skeletons
Su Yang saw clearly, as the large door opened, a giant skeletal claw reached out directly. The fat man didn't even have time to turn around before being slapped down by the skeleton.
Su Yang was startled, quickly rushed forward, pulling the skeleton aside while cautiously watching the pitch-black room to prevent anyone from launching a sneak attack.
The fat man jumped up from the ground hurriedly. Although he was slapped down, in fact, he was knocked down due to being unprepared, not because he was injured.
"Who dares to sneak attack Fat Lord, come out and let Fat Lord see you!" the fat man shouted loudly into the room, but there was no response.
Su Yang frowned tightly, staring at the house intently. It was pitch-black inside, and he could not see the situation within from outside. After Su Yang pulled the skeleton claw back, it ceased to move, seemingly dead completely. Furthermore, Su Yang felt no trace of any power from this room.
What on earth is happening?
The two kept vigil at the entrance for a while, the fat man muttered a few more words, but there was still no movement from inside, and the skeletal claw remained motionless. This baffling situation left the two even more confused. The fat man glanced at Su Yang and whispered, "Could it be that the guy inside got scared by us? He sneak-attacked Fat Lord once, realized he couldn't break Fat Lord's defense, got frightened, and fled?"
Su Yang pursed his lips, the fat man was simply assuming too much. If the opponent really had such strength, managed to escape without being discovered by the two, then the opponent's power undoubtedly surpassed theirs, what need was there to fear them?
Su Yang carefully observed the skeletal claw, discovered that the other end of this skeletal claw was inside the house. Looking along the skeletal claw, it was dark inside, amidst the darkness, a huge black shadow loomed, seemingly staring at them, sending chills down one's spine.
"What kind of expert is this, who dares to sneak attack Fat Lord yet doesn't dare to show themselves!" the fat man continued to shout.
Su Yang lightly patted his pocket, the Little Turtle flew out immediately. The little guy bit onto the Heavenly God's Battle Armor, unleashing its power. But this was not enough, so Su Yang took out the Black Tortoise Divine Jade, its dark glow enveloping Su Yang's body, providing a strong layer of defense.
Sucking in a deep breath, he stepped into the room.
"Hey!" the fat man called out, promptly following, but was halted by Su Yang.
Though the fat man's ability was not weak now, he nevertheless didn't match Su Yang. Moreover, he didn't possess as many defensive items as Su Yang.
Entering the house, adjusting to the light, Su Yang finally saw the situations inside clearly.
Not far away, there was a massive table, approximately four to five meters high, with several chairs beside it, all colossal, seemingly for giants.
The interior furnishings were akin to those of an ordinary Human World household, except everything was much larger, astonishingly so.
What truly concerned Su Yang was that skeletal claw just now. Following the direction of the skeletal claw, he noted not far from the door rested a huge skeleton, resembling a giant turned into bones. One hand lay on the ground, the other reached forward.
Su Yang followed the direction of the skeleton's outstretched hand, right at the doorstep. Judging by the skeleton's size, this hand should have been resting on the door.
Upon seeing this, Su Yang finally understood what had occurred.
Before death, this giant likely attempted to crawl toward the door. However, just as one hand reached the door, it lost strength, dying there. Consequently, after death, it turned into a skeleton, with the hand still resting on the door.
The fat man had pulled the door open earlier, causing the skeletal claw to lose support, falling directly outside, smacking the fat man to the ground—thus explaining the origin of the skeletal claw.
In other words, there was no living creature inside, just this skeleton.
"Little Yang, what's the situation inside?" the fat man yelled outside: "Why aren't you speaking? Is there danger? I'll come in to help you!"
Su Yang chuckled: "Come in, there's no danger!"
"No way?" the fat man muttered, yet still walked in through the door.
Seeing the situation inside, the fat man was stunned, soon understanding what transpired, laughing heartily.
"Whoa, scared me. I thought I was grabbed by some monster!" the fat man grumbled.
Su Yang also laughed. He wandered through several rooms in the house and discovered another gigantic skeleton in one room. It appeared this was a two-person household, and both died similarly.
"Why are the furnishings so huge here?"
Exiting the bedroom, the fat man hopped onto the table, despite his bulkiness, standing atop the table made him seem like a mere dish.
"Alright, stop pretending to be a roast pig!" Su Yang said, pursing his lips: "Didn't you notice? The residents here are giants!"
"You are the roast pig!" the fat man rebuked unwillingly, jumping off the table, saying: "Hey, you don't say, that's quite right. This skeleton is so large, it must have been a giant when alive. Look at this... it's probably about three zhang tall." (Note: a zhang is a traditional Chinese unit of length, approximately 3.3 meters)
Su Yang had also estimated, this giant was indeed around three zhang tall, while the one in the bedroom was approximately two zhang seven or eight, all enormous.
Only giants like these require such large-scale houses to reside in. If the house is too small, they simply wouldn't fit in.
Thinking of other houses' situations, Su Yang couldn't help recalling something: Could it be this village was inhabited by giants?
Su Yang, accompanied by the fat man, checked other houses, all had similar situations. Nearly every house contained skeletons, ranging from one or two, or even up to a dozen. Moreover, these skeletons were immense, rarely under three zhang, some reaching five zhang tall, truly colossal.
Seeing these, Su Yang confirmed that the village was populated by giants.
This realization also reminded Su Yang of an encounter at the bottom of a valley before. At the valley's depths, many Divine Beasts and Demon Beasts were locked, among them some gigantic giants also trapped in the valley.
Are the giants in the village and those in the valley the same kind?
