Chapter 504: Okay, you can take her with you
"How did you come up with the idea of signing a contract with her? And how did you manage that?" asked Idan, looking from the Queen to Sierra.
The girl didn't look up; she was looking down at her little feet. Instead of a crown, she wore an elegant tiara, like a princess's. As Sierra had said, she really looked more like a charming princess than a formidable Queen now.
"What about it? I was just wondering where to find a suitable being for a second contract after things didn't work out with the second Doppelganger. And then the Queen came to my mind," Sierra replied calmly. "After all, the Queen is a creature of Darkness, and she is perfect for me and my younger sister."
"Earlier, Arabel revealed that she had signed her third contract, so I decided to try my luck with the Queen myself," Sierra concluded.
"By the way, now call her the Princess, not the Queen," she added.
Sierra said that when she asked Geminia to give her the Queen, she did not immediately agree. Geminia made concessions only after some persuasion. Sierra did not delve into the details of this process, focusing on the conclusion of the contract.
The Queen was a special being from another world, and neither Sierra nor Geminia had any confidence that Sierra would be able to form a contract with her.
When Sierra first saw the Queen, she was not what she looked like now—a six or seven-year-old girl. Back then, she looked like a teenager of twelve or thirteen years old.
"By the way, I strongly recommend that you never become an enemy of Geminia," Sierra warned with a serious expression on her face. "I don't know what she did to the original Queen, but when I met her, she was a completely different creature from what I had seen before."
"I don't know what Geminia did to the Queen, but she certainly didn't pat her on the head or slap her on the ass to make her change so drastically," Sierra added.
Sierra said that the Queen, now a Princess, is very afraid of Geminia and every time she sees her, she starts to tremble.
To her surprise, the contract process went very smoothly, without any resistance from the Princess.
"Perhaps the Princess realized that by signing a contract with me, she would be able to leave Geminia's lair, so she didn't try to resist," Sierra suggested. "This suggests that the Princess was originally a unique creature, and perhaps the entire Womskinner race is somewhat similar to beasts that can be contracted."
After signing the contract with Sierra, the Princess' rank, which had previously been Diamond, dropped to Platinum due to the restrictions imposed by Sierra's Soul Beast.
Although Sierra possessed the legendary eighth rank, her Beast Soul's rank was only the second. As she understood it, the creature she could contract with couldn't exceed her Soul rank by more than two levels. Therefore, immediately after signing the contract, the Princess's rank dropped to platinum.
"Perhaps after I form the third Beast Soul, its rank will rise to diamond," Sierra suggested.
"So your own rank doesn't really matter when making a contract?" — Idan learned useful information from this conversation with Sierra.
"Yes," Sierra nodded. "You've probably already realized that. We, beings of the higher realm who possess Bloodline Domains, usually cultivate along the Path of Bloodline and the Path of Magic, which are based on mana. The Path of Mastery is a path aimed at cultivating the body. And there is no complete Path to cultivating the Soul in Junonia."
"Most creatures can't use Soul Force in battle. Only high-ranked beings are able to suppress their less powerful opponents with this power due to the difference in ranks. With increasing rank, the Soul Force increases slightly, but there is no specific path to cultivate it." Sierra shared some knowledge about the paths available in Junonia.
"At least, it wasn't until you discovered the Path of the Beast Tamer, which is based on the use of souls." Sierra added, and Idan noticed the joy in her eyes.
"Perhaps it was precisely because of the lack of the ability to cultivate a soul in Junonia that there was a restriction on making a contract with only one being." Sierra came to this conclusion after she created her second Beast Soul and made a contract.
"Then how much has your Soul Force increased since you started practicing the Path of the Beast Tamer?" asked Idan.
"It's hard to say for sure, but I can say with confidence that the increase was significant," Sierra replied. "And this is only the result of using the first two Beast Souls. As far as I understand, as the number of Beast Souls increases, they will interact with each other, strengthening the Soul's Force even more. Therefore, I can't wait to form a third Beast Soul and see how big the next leap will be."
"I could use a Small Medium-quality Soul Crystal to saturate my second Soul Beast," Sierra said, casting a meaningful glance in Idan's direction.
Idan immediately understood what she wanted.
"Okay, wait a bit," he said and, opening the System window, turned to the "Alchemy" function. He decided to create one "Small Medium-quality Soul Crystal" by spending 60 System Points on it instead of buying it through the "Trade" function for 120 points.
By that time, Idan had already created two additional "Small Low-quality Soul Crystals" for Irene and the others, spending another 60 points.
Eh, Idan thought sadly, watching his and Arabel's System Points decrease rapidly.
"Hmm, 10 minutes to create?" — he remarked, realizing that the creation time of the "Small Medium-quality Soul Crystal" is twice as long as the creation time of the "Small Low-quality Soul Crystal".
"Okay," — Idan said, closing the System window and returning to Sierra.
"In exchange for the Small Medium-quality Soul Crystal, I need your Princess," Idan said, and wasted no time explaining Arabel's plan to her.
"Hmm...that's interesting," Sierra nodded after listening to Idan's explanation.
"Okay, you can take her with you," Sierra agreed.
"Where's Lucinda?" asked Idan, looking around and not finding her in the Temple.
"She's with her Hero," Sierra replied with a smile.
"You can call her, I want to ask her to come with me and help in this matter," Idan asked.
Less than ten seconds later, a blonde-haired Valkyrie with a displeased look appeared in front of them.
"Why did you call me?" she asked, looking at Sierra.
"I asked for it," Idan interjected and shared the same plan he had outlined to Sierra earlier.
Lucinda had not yet run out of time in their territory, so Idan decided to take her with him to help with the case with Milena.
"Hmm...okay, I'll help you and my little sister," Lucinda agreed.
"Thank you," Idan said with sincere gratitude, and Lucinda's frown softened a little.
10 minutes after creating the Small Medium-quality Soul Crystal, Idan handed it over to Sierra and, taking the Princess and Lucinda with him, returned to his territory.
