Chapter 502: Handing her a couple of photos
The two girls looked at each other for a while. One of them, Milena, was immersed in doubt, while the other, Arabel, tried to suppress the urge to kidnap her and quickly complete the task she received from the System.
Time passed, but Milena, instead of giving an answer, only went deeper into her thoughts.
Arabel, on the other hand, was losing patience with every passing moment. She wasn't going to wait here all night. In any case, she was determined to help Milena.
If she refuses, Arabel will simply kidnap her and, having cured her, bring her back. And if he agrees, then the conversation will be completely different.
For her own reasons, Arabel wasn't going to reveal her identity to Milena until she accepted her offer voluntarily. She had already risked revealing her identity to Leo, and hadn't even forced him to make any kind of contract by trusting him. And this time Arabel wasn't going to take that risk again.
"I agree," Milena said softly, suddenly breaking the silence in the room.
Arabel's patience, which was about to burst, deflated like a punctured balloon.
"Huh? What?" — Arabel was completely perplexed by Milena's unexpected agreement to her offer.
Arabel's mood instantly changed, a joyful smile appeared on her face, which she hastened to hide, but Milena managed to notice.
"System, are you sure?" Milena asked a little uncertainly.
[Yes, Host, this System is confident] — her System replied.
Milena was still hesitating whether to accept Elsa's offer.
The reason she suddenly agreed was because of her System.
The System, which Milena had trusted all along, followed her instructions, rejecting all other guests, despite its deplorable condition.
But this time, the System unexpectedly advised her not to refuse and accept Elsa's offer.
"Ahem," — Arabel cleared her throat and, adopting a businesslike and serious tone, asked: "Do you have anyone close to you that you could warn?"
At first, Milena shook her head, as if to make it clear that she had no one. But then, as if remembering someone, she nodded and asked softly:
"Why?"
"To warn them. I'm going to pick you up from here and take you to a safe place," Arabel explained. "Your treatment will take a long time, and you will be defenseless during this time, so it is dangerous to stay here."
Hearing this, Milena mentally agreed with her words and nodded again.
"Okay," — Arabel said. "Warn this person, and we'll leave right away."
Milena struggled to sit up on her cot, trembling from the pain that gripped her entire body.
Arabel felt a pang of pity as she looked at her.
Milena sat up slightly and reached for her smartphone, which was lying on the bedside table next to her, but her hands could not reach it. She sighed and looked hopefully at Arabel.
Realizing the girl's intentions, Arabel was even more amazed at Milena's condition. She used her Soul Power to pick up the smartphone and hand it to Milena.
"Is she so weak that she can't even use her Soul Force?" A thought flashed through Arabel's mind.
When the smartphone fell into Milena's hands, the weight of this little thing almost made her drop it. She squeezed it with difficulty with her bony fingers.
Unlocking her phone, Milena slowly started tapping on the screen, typing a message. Due to severe speech difficulties, she decided to use a regular message instead of a call.
Clicking on the "Send" button, she dropped her smartphone, and it fell next to her.
Arabel sighed and used her Soul Force again to pull the smartphone towards her and put it into the spatial ring.
"Let's take him with us," she suggested to Milena. "I'll return it later."
Milena hesitated, then nodded.
Seeing Milena sitting weak and defenseless on her cot, Arabel decided to move her there along with the cot.
With a wave of her hand, she opened the Access Portal.
"Shall we go?" she asked with a smile, looking at Milena's surprised face.
After receiving no response, Arabel, using her Soul Force, pulled the cot with Milena and pushed her inside the portal. As soon as she disappeared, Arabel closed the Access Portal without entering it herself, and remained inside Milena's room.
Arabel, pleased with herself, sent a message to Idan using the Lovers' Plate. Then she opened the window and, not forgetting to close it behind her, left the room.
After quickly covering a considerable distance and finding a secluded spot, Arabel opened the Access Portal and entered inside.
By the time she appeared, Milena was sitting quietly and enjoying the beauty of the landscape in front of her.
"Do you like it?" Arabel asked, and Milena nodded without turning around, completely agreeing with her words.
Carefully picking up the cot with the Soul Force, Arabel began to slowly push it towards the house across the green lawn, giving Milena time to admire.
In the middle of their journey, a small rift suddenly opened in front of the cot, from which a small fox jumped out, landing on the cot, slightly surprising Milena.
Coco looked from Milena to Arabel with her small eyes.
Surprising the two girls with her sudden appearance, Coco took off her backpack from her back, pulled out a couple of photos and handed them to Milena.
Milena took the photos with a tremor in her hands and, turning them over, was surprised to find what was captured there. At the sight of these photos, she dropped them and burst into tears.
The photos fell down so that Arabel could see them. All the photos showed only one Milena, bright and smiling. Coco captured the beauty of this girl with amazing skill.
Coco didn't recognize the girl right away. She remembered that she had previously followed her and taken photos in the city of Rumbus. Coco carefully handed her these photos from her collection, trying to cheer her up rather than upset her.
The little fox was puzzled by Milena's tears.
"Thank you," — Milena said, addressing Coco, who wagged her tail in response.
"That little greedy girl!" thought Arabel, looking at Coco. "We are your hosts, and you have never agreed to take a photo for free!"
"Ugh..." — Arabel sighed, pushing those thoughts away.
"Don't be so sad," she said to Milena. "I can't promise that you'll be like you are in these photos again."
Milena didn't say anything, just bit her lips. She wasn't really hoping for a return to her former appearance, so Arabel's words didn't hurt her much.
"Eh..." — Arabel sighed sadly, picking up the photo and gazing at the beauty captured on it.
Although it was a little painful for Milena to hear these words.
"After your treatment, most likely, the relevance of these photos will disappear," Arabel admitted.
Milena, a little puzzled by these words, looked at Arabel in the image of Elsa.
"I'm sure," Arabel said, and after a short pause, she added, "If everything works out, you'll become even more beautiful than in these photos."
