Chapter 438: Both of them
Hailey, having heard their conversation, almost rolled her eyes. She was not stupid and immediately realized that this couple was directly related to the event that took place in the capital.
Out of the corner of his eye, Idan noticed Hailey peeking through the mirror from time to time and listening intently to their conversation.
"What do you think we should do with those three subordinates?" Idan asked Arabel, referring to the three girls.
"Hmm... it would be a pity to just let them go," Arabel replied. "Their Systems have already sworn an oath of loyalty, which means they won't betray us."
"We were just about to start our own Guild, and we could use loyal people," she added.
"Good. System, ask those three to find a way to move to the capital," Idan said mental link. Then, remembering his sister and mother, he added: "Let them take their relatives with them. And if there are any problems, let them contact us, we'll figure something out."
"Since they have become our subordinates, we, as leaders, must take care of them and their loved ones," Idan said.
Arabel nodded, agreeing with his opinion.
[It will be done], the System explicitly stated.
"Are you going to start your own Guild?" asked Hailey, overhearing their conversation.
"Yes," Arabel replied. "You're a member of the Red Fox Guild, aren't you?"
"Yes, Miss," Hailey nodded.
"And how do you like it?" asked Arabel.
"Not bad, — Hailey replied. "The Guild leader is an acquaintance of mine. She was also among the top one hundred awakened ones, but she didn't make it into the top ten like your younger brother and master's older sister. However, like me, she was in the top twenty."
"Oh! Interesting," Arabel said. Like all awakened ones, she and Idan were well acquainted with the names of the first ten Heroes of the Federation, but they did not know those who were no longer among the top ten.
Hailey began to wonder if she should leave the Red Fox Guild and join Idan and Arabel's Guild.
"If you feel good at the Red Fox Guild, you can stay there," Arabel said, noticing how Hailey was lost in thought. She knew what she was thinking. "But if you decide to join our Guild in the future, we will be happy to welcome you."
"Okay, Miss, I'll think about it," Hailey said, happily accepting the opportunity to make a decision on her own.
"You know, Hailey, it's very difficult for me to accept you the way you are now, after the way you behaved when we first met," Idan said quietly, addressing Hailey. "And I do not know which of you is the real you: the one I met then, or the one who is sitting at the driver's seat now?"
"Ha ha ha," Hailey laughed, but her laugh sounded a little unnatural.
"Both of them," she said.
"The one you see now is the one I was before I awaken. And the one the Master saw is the one I turned into under the influence of the System," Hailey added. "Just because I lost and decided to follow you, that part of me is being suppressed, and I dare not show it in front of you."
"It really is… How should I put it? Unusual?" said Arabel, and Idan completely agreed with her. It really wasn't easy for him to accept Hailey like that.
"Well, you'll get used to it over time," Hailey herself said, as if she hadn't noticed anything surprising. Besides Idan and Arabel, she also behaved like this in front of the Red Fox guild leader.
The rest of the journey passed quickly and without unnecessary conversations.
After passing through the checkpoint to the runway, Hailey stopped next to a Jet aircraft belonging to the Red Fox Guild ready for takeoff.
Outside, five Guild members were already waiting for them, who were also members of Hailey's group, where she held the role of leader.
"Have you found out who exactly our leader decided to come for so suddenly?" Nimuka asked the other girls. Everyone shook their heads, confirming that they had no idea about this.
"Unfortunately, communication in this city is still down, so I haven't been able to contact the Guild leader," Yara replied.
"I'm more concerned about the sudden change in Hailey's behavior," Uvasha said.
All the girls' faces became serious, and they agreed with her words.
The driver's side door opened first, and Hailey got out. Without waiting for her to come over and open the door for them, Arabel and Idan got out of the SUV on their own, not trying to pretend to be important people.
All five girls looked at the two new people their leader had brought with interest and suspicion. They assessed their appearance, trying to figure out who they were.
Idan and Arabel noticed this and exchanged glances with each other.
Hailey, in turn, behaved very obediently, which immediately caught the eye of the five girls.
"Leader, who are they?" asked Nimuka.
"Greetings to the famous girls from the Red Fox Guild, my name is Ignis," Idan replied, greeting them.
"And this is my fiancee Elsa," he added, introducing Arabel in her new look.
"Pleased to meet you," Arabel said briefly, greeting the girls.
The girls from the Red Fox Guild were slightly puzzled and exchanged glances with each other. They then greeted them politely.
"Okay, that's enough, time is running out, everyone on board," Hailey commanded, addressing the girls. After a moment's hesitation, they began to climb the plane's ramp.
"Please," Hailey invited Idan and Arabel as soon as the girls were inside.
Everyone quickly took their seats.
As soon as the pilots made sure that all passengers were on board, and the control room gave permission for departure, they quickly lifted the plane into the air. On Hailey's instructions, they headed for the capital.
"The flight to the capital will take less than a day, with one stop for refueling," Hailey told Idan and Arabel.
The girls from the Red Fox Guild couldn't get rid of suspicion all this time. Hailey was acting strangely, and it made them uneasy. Knowing their group leader, they couldn't ignore the disturbing thoughts.
"Hailey, the girls don't know who Dan and I are, do they?" Arabel asked Hailey through a mental link as soon as the plane gained altitude and left the city of Rumbus.
"Yes, they don't know, I haven't told them anything," Hailey replied.
"But you do realize that your behavior has already aroused some suspicions among them?"
Hailey nodded.
"I can't properly control my behavior around you," she confessed.
Arabel sighed and turned her gaze to Idan.
"Unlike Hailey, we have no reason to fully trust them, so we'd better not reveal our identity to them," Idan replied. "Let Hailey handle this on her own."
"Okay," Arabel agreed, and looked at Hailey.
She just smiled sheepishly.
