Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 687: Stir Things Up

"Sounds impressive, but I wonder if you actually have the ability." Xing Yujun took a step forward, reducing the distance with Xu Ke, seemingly trying to create pressure by closing in.

"I don't know who sent you, but your looks suit my taste, and I appreciate the personality you're displaying. If you're aiming to get my attention and gain something from me, I must tell you, you've succeeded. You've piqued my interest, and I don't mind your schemes. As long as what's demanded isn't excessive, I wouldn't mind fulfilling it."

Xing Yujun reached out a finger to lift Xu Ke's chin, but Xu Ke tilted his head to avoid it.

"I think you've misunderstood something; I'm already married." Xu Ke said, frowning and looking at the woman in front of him, who was flaunting like a peacock.

Xing Yujun's actions halted as expected, looking at Xu Ke with inquiry and a hint of surprise and anger, "You're married?"

Xu Ke nodded slightly.

The expression on Xing Yujun's face turned somewhat unpleasant, and just when Xu Ke thought she might abandon her bold idea, Xing Yujun's face crafted another smile, with an even clearer air of menace and possession.

"It's fine, I don't care. As long as you divorce that woman, I can offer you wealth and prosperity." Xing Yujun spoke nonchalantly.

The man who came to pick up Xu Ke gasped upon hearing Xing Yujun's words, partly due to her obsession with Xu Ke, whom she had just met, and partly because of Xu Ke's status.

Xing Yujun's status is precious, but only here in Shangzhou. Xu Ke's status, however, is significant in Shangjing. The two might seem similar on the surface, but the differences are substantial.

If Xing Yujun truly got together with Xu Ke, it would definitely be a leap upward for her.

Xu Ke licked his molars, looking at this woman who appeared as if she had seen meat, and said speechlessly, "I have a very good relationship with my wife; we have no plans of divorcing, and I don't lack money."

"But who would think there's too much money?" Xing Yujun replied indifferently.

"But I have enough money to squander; I don't need to do extra things to earn more."

"Are you rejecting me?" Xing Yujun had never been refused before, so upon hearing Xu Ke's words, her face turned somewhat unpleasant.

"Do you know how many people are eager to get into my bed every day? I've taken a liking to you and am willing to give you this opportunity, and you reject me? Do you know what you're turning down? It's the chance and opportunity that others beg for but never get." Xing Yujun's eyes locked onto Xu Ke, trying to peer into his most genuine thoughts.

"But I don't need any of that." Xu Ke said coldly, pulling more distance between them.

"I am not one to be defied, but today I'm willing to make an exception for you. I'm asking you for the last time, are you really not considering my proposal?" Xing Yujun squinted slightly, her gaze dangerous upon Xu Ke.

"Not interested, not considering." Xu Ke said without any expression, though he sighed internally countless times, wondering if he hadn't checked the calendar today and thus encountered so many bizarre women.

"You're interesting, I'll remember you." Xing Yujun glanced at Xu Ke one last time, leaving without taking the clothes she wanted just moments ago, leaving the sales assistant who had just wrapped the clothes dumbfounded.

The assistant, holding the dress, approached Xu Ke with a professional smile, respectfully asking, "Would you still like this dress?"

Seeing the hopeful eyes of the cautious assistant, Xu Ke's lips curved into a slight smile, "What makes you think I would want something others don't?"

The assistant's face turned pale at Xu Ke's words, "You can keep the dress for yourself."

After saying this, Xu Ke bypassed the assistant and left.

The mall is so big; is this the only store selling clothes? Xu Ke thought, curling his lips.

In a rare bout of whimsy, because of the earlier unpleasant store experience, Xu Ke visited several more stores afterward, purchasing clothes until both his and his companion's hands were full before stopping.

However, as they headed to the parking lot, they once again encountered Xing Yujun, who was leaning against her car, eyes filled with aggression as she looked at Xu Ke. Seeing Xu Ke ignore her, bypassing her completely to walk towards his own car, Xing Yujun didn't step forward to speak, watching him leave before getting into her own car and driving away.

Like a leech, Xing Yujun followed closely behind Xu Ke's vehicle, not trying to hide.

"Mr. Xu, there's a car following us," the man said nervously, noting the car trailing them.

"What are you afraid of? We're not doing anything wrong. If she wants to follow, let her follow. Just pretend she doesn't exist." Xu Ke said nonchalantly.

Seeing Xu Ke's confident demeanor, the man's worries eased, and he focused on driving, ignoring the car behind.

Xu Ke knew who was following them. Knowing their identity made him feel somewhat curious.

He thought he had made himself clear at the mall, and from Xing Yujun's behavior at the time, it seemed she had given up. Who would have thought she'd resort to such a stalkerish act?

But this road wasn't built by him, so if she wanted to follow, he wouldn't stop her. Whatever she did wouldn't change his view of her.

Standing firm in his indifference, the car behind only followed to the hotel entrance before ceasing to pursue.

Holding his things, Xu Ke took a brisk glance towards the woman's direction before heading into his already-booked room to rest.

Initially, Xu Ke believed his contact with Xing Yujun would end there, with no further interaction between them. Who would have thought that during his short stay in Shangzhou to handle contracts, he'd receive an invitation to an anniversary party?

Dressed in a sharp suit, Xu Ke walked through the anniversary event. Being a new face, there were few who approached him for conversation.

"Mr. Xu, would you like me to introduce you to some people?" The local Shangzhou representative quietly asked, walking beside Xu Ke.

"No need, I'm just here to look around. You can go about your own business." Xu Ke declined the offer.

He was merely there to join the lively atmosphere, meeting people purely based on fate and chemistry.

The representative, realizing Xu Ke had no intention of networking, apologized and swiftly integrated into the surroundings, seeking both familiar and new acquaintances.
