Chapter 2157: I can get stronger faster now.
"That is because we completely changed their existence."
Suddenly, Nux spoke up.
"What do you mean?"
Shadow tried to ask—
"I—"
BOOOOM
But before Nux could answer, his aura burst out.
Then—
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER
The entire universe connected with Nux began to shake violently—Ravana, who was promised that his world would no longer be at risk of similar incidents, stared as his entire world shook.
"This…"
He glanced at Shadow, seeking protection, but Shadow had already moved—
With a wave of her hand, she forcefully suppressed Greenmarch's tremors, saving the entire world from any damage.
And Ravana—he couldn't believe it.
How…
This woman just did something that the artifact given by the Light Faction failed to do with a wave of her hand…
Just how was that possible…?
Shadow, however, completely ignored Ravana's words. Her eyes were fixated on Nux. She quickly sensed her connection with him and began realizing what had just happened.
Nux…
He was getting stronger.
How?
Because he had once again 'understood' his universe a little more than before.
A light smile appeared on Shadow's face when she realized it. A few moments later, she too closed her eyes and—
BOOOM
Her aura exploded too.
Just like Nux, she was getting stronger as well.
A few minutes passed by in an instant. The sudden incident attracted a lot of attention, so much that all of Nux's wives had already appeared.
Ravana, who saw all these women, felt… distant.
He was standing in their presence but didn't dare to talk to any of them. To him, these beings felt… beyond him.
Beings he shouldn't be standing together with.
The women didn't spare him a glance either. Their eyes were only on Nux, waiting for him to open his eyes.
And soon, the wait ended.
"You got stronger."
Vyriana chuckled as Nux finally opened his eyes.
Nux nodded with a grin, feeling his strength. If before he was comparable to an early Transcendent, now he was a middle Transcendent.
The power didn't sound—
It didn't sound 'grand', but for Nux, it was different.
He now understood his own powers much better than before. Not just that, he also had a stronger understanding of his universe.
"Nux…"
Finally, Shadow called out as she opened her eyes.
"You still did not answer my question."
She mentioned.
The rest of the wives wanted to know as well.
"What do you mean we changed the Worlds' Wills' existence?"
Nux nodded at that question—
"The closest entities to a universe are its worlds."
He began. The women nodded at his words; this, they already knew.
"This is because the bond the universe and the worlds share is stronger than the bond the universe has with other entities—so much that it wouldn't be wrong to call a world's will a part of the universe's will. It wouldn't be wrong to say that a world's will would not survive without the universe's will."
Nux paused, staring at his wives as he let them absorb what he said.
"So unlike other living entities that don't have much dependence on the universe's will and can survive without it just fine,
when I devour a world, I devour a major component of its existence. This is the reason the wills of all the worlds I have devoured are dormant.
They are recovering from the damage I did to them.
They are… trying to complete themselves again."
"And… how can that be done…?"
Shadow asked carefully. As the soul of Nux's universe—the closest thing to Nux's universe's will—she felt… responsible.
She felt that it was her duty to help the worlds' wills recover from their states and be active again.
And Nux—
"You give them time."
He answered with a smile as he stared at Shadow, knowing exactly what she was thinking.
"They will recover eventually. Even if they have lost a major part of their existence, they have also gained a new one.
Our universe can support them just fine, just like it supports other living entities. They just need time to get used to this change."
"How much time?"
Felberta asked with a frown.
"It has been hundreds of years since we have devoured some of these worlds. How much more time do they need?"
She asked; she was particularly curious about this matter since it was related to creation—her own powers.
"That's not the case."
Nux, however, shook his head.
"Yes, some of the worlds have been here for hundreds of years, but they weren't in an environment where their wills could recover."
Felberta realized what Nux was trying to say.
"Incomplete universe…"
She muttered, and Nux nodded.
"Yes, our universe was incomplete. It wasn't even in the state where it could grow itself or function independently. How could it be in a state for a world's will to anchor itself with it and recover?"
"Does this mean the rest of the worlds will soon recover their wills as well?"
Evane asked curiously, and Nux nodded.
"How long would it take?"
The elf asked the same question.
"I don't know, but it shouldn't be that long."
"What would happen if the wills awaken?"
Vyriana asked another question. She wasn't interested in learning about how the universe and the worlds' wills worked; what she wanted to know was whether it would be beneficial to them in any way.
And the answer to that question—
"If it happens, the worlds would start giving birth to complicated life forms—life forms who could later start walking onto the cultivation bridge, and as these life forms grow stronger and achieve more breakthroughs…"
"You will get stronger."
Vyriana grinned.
"Exactly."
Nux nodded with the same grin.
"So this is the reason Umbrasol hasn't given birth to a complicated life form yet, huh…
It needs a will."
Suddenly, Rune commented.
Nux turned towards the cat and nodded.
The cat then glanced at Ravana and—
"To think devouring a lowest-level world would reveal something so important and give us a way forward.
It was worth it."
She nodded, and for some reason, Ravana, despite not understanding a single thing that was mentioned here, bowed deeply, showing his gratitude and respect to the woman he didn't even know.
But then—
"That wasn't the only thing devouring Greenmarch like this gave us."
Nux commented with a smile.
"What…?"
The women tilted their heads, and Nux's grin widened—
"Because I devoured all the life forms together with the world—
the amount of strength I gained is nearly twice compared to what I would usually gain after devouring a lowest-level world."
"Does this mean…?"
Astaria widened her eyes, and Nux, looking into her eyes, nodded again, his face distorting because of his grin.
"I can get stronger faster now."
